All things need to come to an end, that’s the way of the nature and the philosophy V:28 have been working with during it’s existence. Ending the band was a hard decision, but at the same time it felt very right, as I’ve never wanted anything but the best for V:28. You need to know yourself and your limitations to make a decision like that at the right time, and I know, even though I had mixed feelings about calling it quits, that the timing was right. The concept had come to an end, and artistically speaking, the “VioLution” album was the very peak of what we’re capable of, and the way I see it, I couldn’t have dreamt of a better conclusion of the trilogy. Being a part of V:28 has been a demanding, yet very rewarding experience, and looking back at the tour, concerts, recording sessions, releases, the networks we’ve built and not to mention the great feedback from friends, fans and press, I can honestly say that it’s been the best years of my life. V:28 will always be very important and special to me. I want to thank all of you how have been involved in the band in one or another way and everyone who have been paying attention to our work over the years, and in special I want to thank Eddie, Atle, LRZ, Joseph at Vendlus Records and Roger Karmanik at Cold Meat Industry for taking part in the journey to the end of the World. The circle is complete!

Looking back on the 7 years in the void I have to admit that we in many ways have achieved much more than I hoped for. The goal had always been to "just play in a band", but when we started V:28 we immediately felt that this was something extra. For the first time in a band there was this seriousness towards what we did which I'd never experienced before. And thus the results came pretty fast. Recording and releasing our debut "NonAnthropogenic" already in the second year of existence, playing one of Norway's biggest metal festivals, Hole In The Sky, the same year and seeing a growing interest for what we were doing from basically all parts of the world. We also got to share stage with a bunch of great bands, some both famous as well as great persons, other more unknown but still awesome people. The concert experience seldom (or never) has to do with the size of the venue or the audience. One of our greatest gigs was played in "a hole in the ground" in Paris, France, in front of approximately 50 people, and is something I'll never forget, thanks to their enthusiasm and dedication. It's also such a great feeling to know that the whole European tour we did went that well and was all our own work! That's more or less the main theme in the story of V:28; nothing comes out of the blue, so if you want to achieve something you should do it yourself, and we did! Finally I have to thank all our fans, friends, the video guys, Joseph at Vendlus Records, "fourth band member LRZ" and finally Atle and Kristoffer for the great time we had. See you again some time and somewhere in other projects!
Eddie
Bleak and apocalyptic in style, industrial death metallers V:28 have met their own quiet demise. I was enchanted and perplexed from the moment I heard their unique approach to hybridized metal and industrial death. Over the course of three full albums and a remix CD, this mechanized Norwegian trio have musically united themes of an ashen industrial wasteland and the endless void of deep space. Each album had its own rhythmic and militant beauty. Plumes of thick smoke belch forth from the bowels of robotic factories choking away the sunlight until all that is left is gloom and ruin. In the end, my ears will suffer from a dearth of V:28’s experimental and futuristic metal which brought on visions of a scorched and lifeless earth. All should mourn V:28’s death as one does the death of a star, with wonder at the supernova’s brilliance but also with an inner fear at the cold void it left behind.

Vendlus extinguishes a phase with the demise of V:28 . We are thankful that we could be part of their journey and that their dedication and trust in us help to seal a foundation that we never would of had without them.

The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 at the Avenue Of Eternal Peace in Bejing, China. Imagine that you were that unknown man in front of the advancing tanks. Imagine that the tanks did not stop, but simply chose to ignore you. That probable feeling of being run over by a tank or four, that’s the feeling of being run over by V:28.

All things need to come to an end, and for a band based upon that theory, what could be more natural than the band coming to an end itself? After three albums, which constituted the Total DeConstruction trilogy, and a remix album, V:28 decided to call it quits in 2008, ending it with the World Wide Bombing Tour. As a final nail in the coffin, V:28 will be publishing a series of live audio, video and pictures from that tour. The audio will be available for free download and streaming and the videos will be streaming only. All pictures will be available at the MySpace website. This serves as a documentation and retrospect on the tour and as well as a treat for the fans, especially those missing out on our shows due to geographical distances. Make sure to check out www.v28.com or www.myspace.com/v28band on April 28th 2009.

We've just posted a track from the new album "Total Reconstruction" on our profile. The track is a cover track by the legendary band Swans, performed by V:28 and Coph Nia (SWE). Something quite different from the "normal" sound of any of the participating bands, but still we feel we maintain our trademarks as well as the red line through the song. The collaboration was very fruitful, and it's always a great experience to work with artists that are open minded and like to try out different things.
Personally, Swans has meant a lot to me over the years, and they keep coming back to me, over and over again... Check out "The Great Annihilator" and "Soundtracks For The Blind" (from which "All Lined Up" is taken from), open a bottle og red wine or your Lagavulin whisky, sit back and experience something you've never heard before - pure magic! What an amazing band!
So, I felt it was natural to pay some sort of tribute to the band, and even though it's quite a challenge to do something like that with a band I respect so much, I think we succeeded. Anyway, here's the result. Enjoy!
