As things are getting exciting on the DM front with the new album releasing... so are things on the MODEified front.

I've gotten many emails from potential contributors regarding the new project.. so here's what we know:

We are waiting till after the album release to start to give folks the new music to live with a bit so they can make song choices for the new project and see if they want to select a song from the new album.  Also, I am in Ireland on vacation till May 11th.

So, the official beginnings of the new MODEified will happen at that point in Mid-May.  We'll get the M8 tab on the website going for everyone to keep updated .... etc.

In the meantime, if you are planning on getting broker tix for any DM show in the states, don't forget to take advantage of the 10% discount we at MODEified negotiated for our website visitors!  The site is barrystickets.com and the discount code is MOD010 !!  Don't waste your money buying elsewhere if Barry's has good tix left for the show you want!

Hello everyone!
During our down time between projects, Rafi has been incredibly active on behalf of the projects!  He debuted to me a new Forum for the MODEified projects!
It's gonna be a great way for everyone to communicate easily in a central location to share stories, ask help and advice and just discuss the new DM material, tour and hopes for future MODEified projects!

Well...did end up getting to the 2nd disk but never got around to
sending it:P Had thought to give it an interval between the 2 disks to
allow for reviews to come in for the first but oh well...Sandra

Modeified by 7 Again (Disk 2)

1.                Stripped - moody instrumental beginning, before
drums/plaintive guitar kicks in. Guitar-oriented, alternating from laid
back to more aggressive segments (touch of Smashing Pumpkins) with soft
eynth playing main melody.

2.                Precious - Mellow, a strong melody-oriented version.

3.                Lie to Me - I call this the funky version. Vocals
straightforward, retro-sounding like original. Chorus at end sung
differently, with a more exaggerated flourish.

4.                I Am You - Warm and lovely vocals. Accompanied well
with synth background not overly busy. Mid-tempo, punctuated with
strong, heartfelt singing during highlights.

5.                Policy of Truth - trancey beginning,, like this one.
Some differences but retains same drive of original. Less darkly
brooding but same relentless beats running through song.

6.                Sister of Night - similar to original in but less
sparse sounding in the background. Still atmospheric. Melody a bit more
drawn out. Vocalist sounds very Martin-like. Got to admit I like voices
like Martin - it has a very pleasing, softer/comforting quality with a
touch of vibrato. I call it the 'angelic-church choir' voice.

7.                Happiest Girl - another beat intensive entry. Extended
instrumental, liked the mix. True to spirit of original, does not stray
too far afield.

8.                New Dress - Beats are not as hard-hitting, more
mellowed but again very similar to original.

9.                A Question of Time - Vocals give it a claustrophobic
and lush feel. Full synth background but less abrupt/hard-hitting than
original.

10.            But Not Tonight - Club friendly arrangement, pace sped
up/beat intensive. Vocals mellow, very straightforward - some
similarities to Dave in tone.

11.            Here is the House - Retro sounding. Keeps simple,
uncomplicated style of the original. Some darker sounding synths kick in
towards the ending.

12.            Blasphemous Rumors - quiet beginning leading to dense
wall of sound when singing begins. Male vocals into female & male for
chorus. Twist - kicks into a foreign version on the latter half of song!

13.            Lillian - Different interpretation altogether.
Torch-like, reminds me of Marc Almond.

14.            Any Second Now - Poppy, very upbeat/dance oriented
version. Has the spirit of Just Can't Get Enough. Vocals are kind of
quiet and slightly distanced - reminds me of some of the groups like The
Ocean Blue.

15.            Stories of Old - beginning synths remind of photographic.
Distort on vocals but not overly so. Hypnotic, driving beats.

16.            It Doesn't Matter Two - nice vocals, martin-sounding.
Dreamy, soaring version with a synth-filled, atmospheric background.

17.            It's No Good - kinetic opening, less fuzz on synths,
cleaner sounding, sped-up version. Less dark, melody segues/fits right
into Enjoy the Silence towards the end segment. Good ending!

Hey guys,

I've gotten a few requests from contributing artists for reviews and feedback on their music from MODEified by 7.  Unfortunately, getting the MODEified fans out there to take 10 minutes and write reviews has been tough this go round.

The MANY artists on these albums contibute for 3 reasons:

1. Love of DM
2. Exposure of their music
3. FEEDBACK on their music

I truly believe it is an incredibly important part of the process for the listeners to give a few reviews.  I think we've got a bit of the Kitty Genovese Syndrome going on here....(google it) and we end up with nobody doing reviews.

Please, take a moment in the next week to listen to both discs again and write a few words of PRAISE or CONSTRUCTIVE criticism for each song and send it to BONG and me so I can post it on the MySpace Blog for all to read.

Of course, this is only a request, but if there is anyone out there with the time to write a decent review for the project, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just a quick note, the MODEified site server is down for maintenence and should be up soon.

Also, all bio's have been updated and some band's bios added to the final M7 site as per their requests and will be reflected shortly after the site update.
