So, I've decided to go for NANO again this year. For those who have no idea what that means, the details can be found at: http://www.nanowrimo.org/ , but basically NANOWRIMO is a challenge/commitment to write a full story of no less than 50,000 words between November 1st and November 30th.
As of yet, I have no idea what I'll write about, but that's nothing new. Last year I still hadn't decided what to write until two full days into another story and had to start all over with a new profile and everything.
This will be my third attempt at NANO. I've never won the ribbon, that is to say I have never written the full 50,000 words. But some things are won simply by making the effort. This is one of those things.
If any here would like to follow along, my profile at the NANOWRIMO site is: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/221965
Wish me luck! Lord knows I'll need it.

We live modestly. I'm not complaining, it's a good life. We occasionally go through rough times, wherein Top Ramen, pinto beans and tuna casserole help us make ends meet.
I'm sure most of my friends know what I'm talking about here. Life is good, though money can be tight....
Do they honestly expect "US" to bail out a bunch of fat cat bottom feeders who've made billions by stealing the life savings of millions?
All I have to say is...
HELL NO!
Let them get a real job! I'd be happy to pay them $20.00 to steam clean my carpet and clean out the cat box!
What do you think...do they deserve that?

If "I" am anything,(and believe me, I only wish I were) it comes directly from the feelings and strength I gleaned directly from those woman I respect. Among others, I have been greatly influenced by singers like Phoebe Snow, Melissa Manchester, Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross, Melissa Etheridge, Crystal Gail, Jewel and many others.
Please note that "Phoebe Snow" is the first on my list. There is a reason she ranks so high on my personal "hero chart."
The woman, Phoebe Snow, pushed her career to the side, risking ever being able to resume the life fate had assigned her, in order to take care of her beloved child, Valerie Rose.
Now, personally, I could care less what you think, but that impresses the hell out of me.
Here is a woman, an artist, with the world at her feet, no doubt, standing at the brink of absolute stardom and all that goes with such a position. Her velvety voice and keen vision could (would) have put her in places that any of today's "stars" could only envy. Yet, she chose to forsake all the fame, fortune, and everything that comes with it, in order to care for her baby, Valerie Rose...
I would like to think I would have made the same choice, but "I" will never know.
Phoebe Snow made that choice. This woman deserted her promising career in order to do the right thing.
I have to say, I must be her biggest fan. Not only because of her talents, which are ENORMOUS, but also because of her character.
Phoebe is my number 1 role model.
I can't possibly say anything better about the woman. Check her out! http://www.phoebesnow.com/

I never do this here...but what the hell...this is a REALLY good book!
 No One Heard Her Scream
by Jordan Dane
Avon Harper Collins
ISBN: 9780061252785
Becca Montgomery, Detective for the San Antonio Police Department, is reeling from the kidnapping and apparent murder of her sister when she’s assigned to the case of an arson that uncovers the body of a murdered young girl.
During the investigation she uncovers facts that may or may not be related to her sister’s disappearance. Is it just her grief that keeps drawing correlations or is she on the right path? Have these murders been going on, unchecked, for decades? And is her sister among the pitiful women and young girls who’ve been enslaved for the lustful and disgusting pleasure of the very rich and terribly depraved?
If she is to get to the truth, her only option is to trust the one person her instincts tell her she should run from. Deeply entrenched in the criminal world, the Latin Lothario, Diego Galvin, is a man with no past, a very secretive present and who may just wipe out her future...or he may be able to help her find the answers to all the truths her heart has longed for.
Jordan has written this story as no one else could. Her enviable writing talents clearly shine through, leaving no one to wonder why her first three books are scheduled to come out as they are, one in each of the months of April, May and June 2008. Nor will any reader find it hard to believe that this author has an incredible career ahead of her.
This reviewer only hopes to be allowed to review each galley in this series!
I’ve posted an interview and Jordan will be at my Book Review blog all day to answer your questions. Please visit and leave a comment ( http://msqtpi.livejournal.com/ ) You could win a prize!
Thanks,
Trish

In case anyone is looking for me, I’m heading back to Virginia tonight and will be there until late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.
We are going there to attend the celebration of my grandmother’s life. Her body was donated to Science, so there will be no funeral.

CITRA, Fla. --
There was a dramatic rescue Tuesday afternoon in Marion County as people worked frantically to save a small horse that was trapped underground (in a septic tank). The horse was pulled to safety in the small town of Citra and the rescue was caught on camera....His name is Shooter and he’s just three months old and apparently just like his mother.
Read the rest here
I can’t help but wonder if his name will be changed. I’m having flashbacks to the movie "The Jerk." I can just imagine one of those rescue workers saying...
"Shooter? Lady, don’t call that horse Shooter, call him Shitter!"

Be careful my dear trashy friends. Criminals are hunting in baited fields --Wal-Mart parking lots.
Video
While these evil doers must never keep true believers from worshiping in the clearance racks of the High Holy, it does cause one to pause. After all, we know SAM works in mysterious ways, right?
Are we being called to redouble our efforts to bring in new worshipers with us...or are we being guided to do more of our shopping online at http://www.walmart.com/ ?
I, for one, will be studying the fliers and meditating for guidance.
