As for this weekend we have the usual happening in the club Friday and Saturday so email us for guest list if your planning on heading down. The Meatmen will again be playing this Wednesday instead of the usual Saturday slot so add that to your (advent) calendar.

Have you booked your Christmas night out yet? Check our website for details of our events. Availability is tight but we may just be able to squeeze you in. This year we have a fantastic line up of DJ’s and Comedians all through December.

Hells Bells our Hogmany party will be returning for the second year in a row. If you spent the bells with us you’ll know that New Year doesn’t have to be an overpriced disappointment. Just drop us a line through November for guest list. The guest list won’t remain open for long so get moving.

This week we have live music in the bar on Friday night from the brilliant General Franco playing laid back and very strange covers (MJ Black or White...genious). The guys are on from 8pm. We also have the usual live music in the basement from 8pm Thurs/Fri/Sat.

After a great performance in the bar on Friday we have asked Them Beatles back for a month long Sunday residency in the bar. So if you’re feeling the December stress then drop by the bar for the best and most authentic Beatles tribute we have ever seen.

Riot Radio Fridays and Rock Shop Saturdays are as always in the basement from 11pm. After at least two dance offs took place on Saturday its fast becoming the only dancefloor worth embarrassing yourself on. See you there then...

Our PR team are now distributing Access All Areas passes which will come with a whole heap of benefits for Maggies regulars. Just drop us a wee email and we will get a pass to you...info@maggiemays.co.uk.

The bar will as always have the best in Rock/Indie/Punk and whatever takes our/your fancy.

Them Beatles are making their return to the bar on Friday. Check the photos for a selection of pics from last month. Its free entry so get down early. This is the best Beatles tribute around and is done in costume and character. It cant be Beat(les)....

(Oh Jesus the punning gets worse every week)

If you are heading to see Biffy Clyro at the Barras then swing by before the gig for some dinner and after for some alcoholic refreshments. We will be drawing shit jailhouse tattoos on everyone with a Biffy ticket (maybe).   See you there.

Hello all.....thanks to all who came down on Saturday for The Rock Shop. The club was fantastic and the dancefloor was a very dangerous place. Flailing limbs everywhere, except when Oasis are on and guys stand with their hands behind their backs arching their backs and sneering (What a strange phenomenon). Is there any other band that brings out such a reaction? The Stones is another, people Jagger dancing is a wonderful thing.

Thanks also to the guys at Ad Lib for inviting us to join Glasgows Best Burger Competition. It was great to see so many local bars entered and shows how far Glasgow has came and its not all deep fried Mars Bars. Ourselves and The Gate came mid table but there wasn’t much in it. We have our sights set on gold next year. In the mean time swing by and taste one of our homemade burgers, you wont be disappointed.

Them Beatles delivered a fine end to a great weekend. We hit capacity on Saturday night in the street level bar which was crazy. Look out for free passes to the basement at the weekend so you are not getting caught in the rush and can get served a wee bit quicker.

Maggie Mays is also proud to welcome The Gate to the family. We have taken over the business next door and will be bringing you more of the same when it comes to the quality Maggies regulars are used to. Watch this space for any future developments.

A small disclaimer: a certain Bath St premises has a similar name to Maggie Mays.  The venue is not affiliated in any way with Maggies. No offence intended just wanted to clear up any confusion.

The Rock Shock Halloween special is coming up next Saturday so get your costume ready. Live bands are on as usual before so swing by for some live music followed by a frightfully good time (Oh Jesus did i just type that...)

We will be giving out or Access All Areas passes this week which are valid for a whole year and entitle you to free entry to all our live music and club events and discounted food. A short story...

Once apon a time (about three months ago) a group of young ladies and gentlemen partook in our weekly open mic night. One in particular showed a certain knack with a tune and seemed to be keeping the crowd entertained. The night passed without further incident and we went about our business. Until this weeks ‘Later...with Jools Holland’ when our wee friends popped up again. A little more rehearsed and a little less drunk...Biffy Clyro.    Now some might say we should have recognised them but it was busy and at least we recognised the boy was talented. Even so from now on the offending staff on that night have been beaten and will now recognise anyone with a record deal.

Live music abounds all this week. Friday and Saturday night are brought to you buy Get Loose Promotions. We have our usual line up of club nights over the weekend with Riot Radio Fridays and The Rock shop Saturdays going at full pace.

Our restaurant is now taking bookings and is bustling at weekends. We only use the best in locally sourced produce. A cliché perhaps but not when you actually follow it through. Come in and taste what we mean for yourself. All dinners receive free entry to the above mentioned club nights.

This Sunday Them Beatles make a return in character, in costume and LIVE in the bar. Its free entry and no matter what your plans its the best Sunday night entertainment around.

Maggie’s Kitchen will be serving up delicious homemade food in ample portions every day from 11am until 10pm. Call on 0141 5481350, or e-mail us at info@maggiemays.co.uk to book a table. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
