This is 7Th Street District! We call ourselves The “A-list” because we feel that our music, stature, and presence showcases top notch talent. We retain a feel of nobility and exceptional artistic value, not to mention people in our demographic feel this way as well. We’ve worked our asses off to get to where we are now. We are self managed, produced, engineered, and marketed. No one else, just us.
The fact is, both of us are twenty three and have been doing hip-hop together for over 6 years now. We are highly accomplished and have nowhere to go but into the cosmos. I, Mike Martin, have been writing, reciting, and producing for over twelve years. Nate Barnett has been in the game for Eight years and running. We have put more than our fair share of work in and paid plenty of dues. To make it as far as we have coming from nothing, is a feat in itself. Starting out recording on cassette tapes with a boom box, all the way to an old ass Compaq with a built in computer mic. We have endured some rough times but without a doubt we pushed through it, bringing ourselves to a higher place. I’ll be honest our material isn’t the best quality, but with the right help and direction, in addition the right people backing us, all we can do is triumph .
With our talent and relentlessness to succeed, we will change the landscape of music as we know it! All wile other so called “MCs” want to dance around and dumb down the today’s youth, we are issuing a since of enlightenment to the world. 7ht Street District is here to exclaim that change is imminent and without a doubt will affect all! We utilize innovative lyrics, sounds, and direction to create a fresh new forecast on the face of hip-hop. We issue an expansion on vocabulary, rhythm, and outlook on music all together. Do not confuse us with “rappers, gangsters, or ballers”, this demotes who we are. We are simply Hip-Hop artists. We paint pictures on a beat making it come alive, fascinating the human mind.
Location is a major issue for us. We hale from Chillicothe Ohio, a place where no one would ever think someone in our line of entertainment could follow their dreams and make something of themselves. On the other hand, big cities don’t have faith in small town Hip-Hop artists as well. We are in a position where there is no other outlet, its music or bust. We put 100% blood, sweat, and tears into having a voice. Hip-Hop needs us. The world needs us. This is the future! This is Hip-Hop! This, is 7th Street District!
