THEY HAVE ARRIVED!
Hello to everyone who has been in any way encouraging on our journey so far. That includes you dear mySpace friend. Yes it does.
Today I found myself the proud guardian of 1026 copies of our debut EP "The Sinking of the PRK" It has taken us ages to get this thing out and we're all extremely pleased with it. From Monday you will be able to buy it. You can pre-order it RIGHT NOW if you so wish. It is a collection of our songs that begin with the letter D and it means everything. It scares the bejesus out of me. It is very good.
These are the songs:
1 - Dr Freeman 2 - Draws Lines 3 - The Death Waltz
You can hear the first two on our mySpace site
purchase the EP here: http://theprk.bigcartel.com/product/the-sinking-of-the-prk-ep
To celebrate the release, we're playing a gig at The Portland Arms, Cambridge on 28th May. More about that nearer the time.
Matthew Repair.

We just got the best review ever from Panic Magazine, currently it’s on the firstpage of the website, but you can find it under ‘Reviews’. http://www.paniconline.co.uk/
As playing in Chelmsford was a homecoming for me I decided I’d actually write a blog entry about the night, consider it a companion piece to the shoe review above.
Bitterscene as a night has been going on for 8 years, we know this because we were asked to play their 8th Birthday party on the 25th of February. Unfortunately, I left full time Chelmsford residency about 8 years ago and so visits to the Bassment on Wells Street are something of a hazy memory. I remember them being fun though.
Fast forward and I’m turning up to play my first gig in Chelmsford since about 2001. We rock-up and load into the venue on time, and then the other bands turn up, which is good as we’re borrowing the use of a drum kit for the night. We also end up borrowing a guitar stand as Matt has lost his and so THANK YOU to both bands: Things We Lost in the Fire and Popdad.
After our usual involved soundcheck, we decide to scarper to get some food. I led the band on a merry dance around the place as the restaurant I wanted to take them all to appeared to involve queuing out the door. Instead we ate various fast foods in a chip shop (Matt’s international grill was a particular highlight) and charm the retailers into giving us free pop. Twee alert!
We then headed back to the venue to catch the support bands. Things We Lost in the Fire did indeed induce dancing and various members of the Kit snaffled CDs to take back with them. My mum (yes, being a rock star doesn’t mean your mum can’t come watch) also enjoyed their poppy tunes and described them at the bar as “quite good”. Popdad, who followed, were loud and sweaty simple straight forward rock with a slight punk edge and lots of Essex related banter that was perhaps lost on the out of towners. I was impressed at the guitar with two outputs, one to effects and guitar amp and one to the bass amp, which led to the BIG sound, along with a drummer whose gurning was very reminiscent of Mr Andy Jenkin from The Tupolev Ghost.
We were up next, and were on a roll from our triumphant, if early, show at the Portland Arms the weekend before. We were in tune, we were in time, we could hear each other and goddamn if we weren’t pretty damn good. We played a fun filled 40 minute set of songs old and new, although to everyone there except the promoter and my mum they were all new, and kept people watching and smiling and tapping their feet. It felt awesome.
Bitterscene seems to still be going strong after 8 years and I can tell why, it seems the sort of place that is a fun night out for attending as well as an absolute blast to play at. I can’t wait to go back.
Lozzy Repair xoxo

Brixton last night was excellent fun! We all got the train together, were plied with drinks by the lovely Ian from How Does It Feel To Be Loved and we only messed up a couple of times. An emergency hi-hat was procured from a Camberwell-dwelling friend and an improvised cat song had to be deployed at half time but otherwise all was good and well. The other bands were great fun (sadly we missed most of The Madrigals set due to our premature hurrying for the train though. Booo! The beginning of their set was really good anyway). We recommend that you all go and see Lost Left, Electrophönvintage and The Madrigals at the next available opportunity. On the long train journey home we read One Hundred Years Of Solitude aloud to lull the carriage to sleep. No one seemed to mind.
We are now booking gigs for the first half of 2009 so let us know if you want us in your town.

We have finished recording our EP thing now, there's just some mixing/mastering and sleeve-craft to be done then we'll foist it upon you. Probably in January some time. It sounds pretty amazing compared to the recordings on the site at the moment, all string-soaked and stormy. I can't wait for everyone to hear it!
In the meantime you should buy the new album from Rachel's other band Fuzzy Lights. The album is called A Distant Voice and is made up of soaring, adventurous, sound-drifts that will keep fans of music enraptured throughout. Think Dirty Three and Godspeed and Sigur Rós. Teletext said it was "stunning" and who can argue with Teletext?

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
Hello all you people that read this stuff. In case you were not already aware, Steven Repair has recently moved to Canada. We'll miss him (even though he is a git).
For our gig at the Gramaphone last week Rachel (from the stunning Fuzzy Lights) stepped in on violin to help us out. The big news is that she has now become a full-time member of The Puncture Repair Kit! She's the most natural and perfect choice due to her being a good friend and having already contributed viola skills to some tracks we recently recorded (coming soon!). Your next opportunity to see the new line-up is at the dinosaur party we're throwing a week on Sunday with Brontosaurus Chorus and The Last Dinosaur at The Portland Arms in Cambridge.
Praise be!
The Puncture Repair Kit.xoxo.

Steven Repair is fleeing the country in a couple of weeks so we find ourselves in need of a new violinist. Willingness to have a go at playing other instruments is important, though aptitude with them is entirely optional. Let us know as soon as possible if you're interested as we have gigs booked in September (eek!). Please pass this information on to anyone you know who might want to join us.
Thanks, Matt Repair.

Last Thursday we went to Norwich to record a full 45 minute live set for Breakthru radio. You can hear it here: http://www.breakthruradio.com/index.php?show=4378 We had a lot of fun recording it. Jason, the engineer, was super lovely (even when Mark threw beer all over his floor) and we urge any other bands reading this to go and get themselves recorded in his new studio (inside an actual dinosaur www.oldschoolstudios.co.uk). Enjoy! The Puncture Repair Kit.x.

Last night we played in London for the first time. We were nervous. There were a lot of people we knew and cared about there, we had the smallest sound system since the time we played in Graham's living room, the bar had run out of beer and the night was running so late that we were due to finish before we'd started.
It was Massive Fun.
There was comedy and poetry and music and some things that may well have been all three. The guy who did stand up just before us was extremely funny (what was his name?) and the beerless bar was serving red wine very cheaply so people were in a good mood. The gathered throng listened and clapped and a few even danced to the Death Waltz. Afterwards they said encouraging things. We like encouraging things. We felt like we played pretty well and put a few more demons to rest. Thank you to all the people who came and waited and heard and enjoyed it. We salute you.

The Puncture Repair Kit played our first open-air gig last weekend at Hardwick Carnival. It was essentially a primary school fete. We were the support act to the decorated prams and wheelborrows competition. There was a coconut shy and an ice cream van, several Storm Troopers, Xena (warrior princess), Indiana Jones and a tiny little Dalek. We had fun and we had ice creams with disappointing bubble gum in the bottom. Becky bought a book of knitting patterns co-written by Giles Brandreth. It's one of the most amazing things any of us has ever seen.
