I'm writing this note to vent, and to make every friend I have living in Kitchener/Waterloo aware of something.

Last night, after our show in Waterloo, we were robbed. 
Brent's bass (Sunburst Fender Precision) was stolen, along with all of our merch. 50 Lion Ride Hoodies, 50 Lion Ride T shirts, and a bag of pins. (Luckily, we forgot our stickers at Tommy Smokes'/Ron's place, so we still have those! Yaaaay!)

We are not rock stars. We make very little money, and work very hard. 
Over the last year, we've worked hard raising money, working shitty jobs, and playing as many shows as we could. Any money we were able to raise was pumped into the band. Gas money, recording costs, equipment, and merchandise production. We finally raised enough money to have T shirts and Hoodies printed up, and adequate equipment for playing shows. Selling merch is of vital importance to an independent, touring band.
No one pays for music anymore.
Venues pay very little to independent, original bands. 
Even if there's only 3 people at your show, if they like you, those 3 people may visit your band's merch table after your show. Every penny helps. Now we don't get those pennies, and can't afford new merch. 

OK! SO! I'm going to stop whining now, and ask you all a favor. 
IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY LIVING IN KITCHENER/WATERLOO, PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR ANYONE WEARING A LION RIDE HOODIE OR T SHIRT. IF YOU DO SEE SOMEONE WEARING ONE OF THESE ITEMS, PLEASE ASK THEM WHERE THEY GOT IT, AND DON'T SEEM THREATENING. CONTACT ME, OR ANYONE IN MY BAND ASAP.

(I should also mention that this is our 2nd robbery. The first time was in London, where Marco's GPS was stolen outside of Call The Office. Also, this is the 2nd time a Bass has been stolen from Brent. I am losing my faith in humanity) 

WE WILL MISS YOU, MUTO!





Marc Muto (The Italian Stallion) is our best friend, and our drummer from the very beginning. He was behind the kit for the very first LR show, played drums on the "AWESOME" EP, and beat the shit out of his drums at every Lion Ride show he ever played.

Well, Muto has decided that it is time he and his beautiful wife Elisa start a family!

The Stallion is busy being "The Plumber That Does It All" at Muto plumbing, and is going to be the best Dad since Bill Cosby. Seriously!

So what does this all mean? The Italian Stallion has retired from Lion Ride. We obviously wish him all the best, and can't wait to get WASTED with him when his first baby arrives! We will miss you so much Muto!





That being said, don't think for a second that Lion Ride is going to be getting any less Italian, any time soon!

Picking up where the Stallion left off is none other than IRON MIKE BISON.

You may recognize the Bison from a little band called CHEAP SUITS. Iron Mike is no stranger to the grind of independent touring and beating the shit out of his drums. We welcome him as an official member with open arms, and are very excited about things to come!

This Ride is only just beginning.

HEY DUDES.
We haven't written anything in here in quite a while, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy. I'm just really, really lazy. I've even been neglecting my personal hygiene. I smell a lot like mexican cuisine right now.

Anyhow, here's some news for anyone who cares, and even those who don't:

1. I think I forgot to mention that we have a new bass player. He's not even "New" anymore, since he's been with us for the past few months, but everyone welcome "DIAMOND" BRENT PANTHER to the band! Yeah!

2. "Diamond" Brent Panther got a haircut. Big time. He went from "Fabio" to "Sinead O'Connor". But that doesn't mean he can't still bang his head!

3. We've been playing our shows lately with Mike from the Cheap Suits on drums. He's been kicking ass and taking names. Seriously. He carries a little pad of paper and a pen with him. If he takes down your name, you're fucked.

4. We have new merch for sale! Woo! T shirts, Hoodies, Pins, oh my. I'll try to get some pictures of the stuff up soon. Then, if you want some shit, we'll figure out a way to take your money and make you look stylish at the same time. We don't have any of that fancy "PayPal" stuff, so just slide a couple twenties under my door. Sweet.

5. We're going to be recording a split with our best friends in the world the Saigon Hookers! It's in the very early planning stages, but we do plan on covering one of eachother's songs, as well as including new material. More on that later.

6. Marco got ROBBED. Anyone who knows us, knows we are van-less, and we do all of our touring in Marco's pickup truck, with a trailer in tow. Well, last night in London, some assfuck broke the driver's side window and stole Marco's GPS. What a fucking dick eh? If you are the dick who took the GPS, you probably aren't reading this. But if you are reading this, you are really mean!

Ok. That's it for now. I'm going to go take my first shower in 3 days, while enjoying an ice cold can of delicious Pabst Blue Ribbon.
