.... it was November 29, 1986. The first day of business for Trash American Style. When Kathy and I unlocked the front door to that rickety storefront in Brookfield, neither of us would have guessed that in 2009:

-we'd no longer have a storefront
-we'd still be in business anyway
-we'd still be in touch with so many of you.

It's been a great run and it will continue to be a great run. Thanks to all of you who have made the journey with us this far. I can't wait to see what happens next!

  Hello, People-
It's been a long mild summer and we're almost recovered from the trauma of being sacked from our retail space. It still amazes me that after 18 years in the same location we were not even offered a chance to renew our lease. So let that be a lesson to all of us: beware of Greek landlords bearing gifts for your neighbors.
Getting all of our merch unpacked and sorted out has been a major hassle. It's been almost 3 months and we're still not done. Ergo, we're not looking for a new retail space just yet. It would make NO sense to undo all the work we've just done. Besides, we've looked around a little and rents have become outrageous since we were last in the market. I think that finding a storefront we can pay the rent on is going to involve a bit of luck.
This is not to say that we're out of business. Au contraire. Kathy and I have capitalism on our blood. We're going to be selling at a number of different events and locations. Check the Trash American Style website for details. It's not as good as a real store, I know, but it's what we have for now.
Anyway, that's what's going on these days. Hopefully we'll see some of y'all in our travels (I saw TONS of Trashies at the Foo Fest in Providence 2 weeks ago. That was way cool.) Remember, even if you can't come to us, we can still go to you.
True Till Death (42 years and counting),
