Endelig kommer dronningene på TV.

Som oppvarming for årets TV-aksjon har dronningene skrevet og spilt inn en to episoders humorserie.

Onsdag 14.oktober kl. 22.30
Episode 1: QUEENDOM: MIDT I BIBELBELTET

Lørdag 17.oktober kl.22.10
Episode 2: QUEENDOM: TATT AV AFRIKA

Current mood:  restless
It's unforgivable, I know. As a lover of her music and fan of her style I should have been there, but MAN... I'm a struggeling, hard working freelance artist... 500 NOK (about $80 and 55 euro) is too much to spend for a concert.

I had to face reality, this night was not meant for me...

Instead I've spent money on two appointments with my massage therapist, two trips to the cinema (Brüno and Harry Potter) and a disappointing restaurant burger.

I read about the concert the next day and...

Ah, I should have been there.

Current mood:  contemplative
Been occupied with the smaller, closer things the last weeks. Opportunity has come knocking on the Queendom door, and we're answering (more info on that later).

The world has woken me abruptly from my slumber and reminded me that people are still "crying war". My thoughts, support and sympathy goes out to the people in the mids of struggles, especially in Iran, Honduras and Pakistan.

And though a musical legend, a beloved actor and several respected journalists have all passed recently, my deepest thoughts go out to the people closest to me who have lost loved ones.

Karyn, rest in peace.

Current mood:  inspired
Went to a Raphael Saadiq concert here in Oslo last night and wow... I am impressed and inspired. In a time where soul and r'n'b is so digitalized, synthesized and commercialized, it's invigourated to hear authenticity and love for the core of soul.

loved it

Current mood:  hopeful
Sometimes. Not often, but sometimes I have one of those days. One of those days where I pick up my mac to work on unfinished ideas and I start to doubt myself. I start to doubt the strength of my ideas. I fall out of love with my own music. I ask myself uncomfortable questions like: does anyone really want this? Do I even like these ideas or have I just gotten used to the beats, rhymes and the sound of my own voice?

I really hate those days, but luckily "the rain don't last forever". I always fall right back in love - the very next day.

A poet once said about writing that you are a writer when you HAVE TO write, when you wake up in the morning and all you want to do is write. I think the same goes for music - if you're a true artist - you just HAVE to do it.

But everyone needs a break some time... I just had one of those days

... but just for a couple of days, though.

Been writing for Streetwise Productions artists the last weeks. They've got some really good performers under development and I know they're going to bring beautiful flava in your ears soon.

We've got some amazing tracks in the works. So stay tuned.

Current mood:  touched
Time has passed. Things have happened. Still, here I am. I'm different, and the same. I'm more than I was: more determined to make things happen, more in love, more inspired and determined, and more in me.

Going to a studio this month with a wonderful producer who I respect immensly. We're gonna work with some of my ideas to see if we can find that special sound that make the hairs on my body stand UP. (You know the feeling?)

So please, tune in now and then and check my progress.

Hia,

just been to the studio and recorded a demo for "Stay Home". Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

I entered a norwegian debutartist contest arranged by P2 and Oslo World Music Festival. If you're in the country, hear the song, and like it - then vote, vote, vote.

If you are in the Lørenskog area this Sunday, come by Triaden. I'll be singing with the gospelchoir 'Traces' around 12.00 AND singing my own stuff around 17.00. There'll be food and music, what more can you ask for?

Enjoy your weekend.
