Hey Friends,

Good news! If you missed our last show, you can still come rock with us! We're playing this weekend, May 2nd, at the Depot!

I hope all of you can make it out!

Just to clear up any confusion... unfortunately, we're not officially back together. We're playing this weekend to have a good time with our friends JT Thorpe and Chad Braithwaite for their birthdays.

We'll have a remix cd of some of the favorites off of Take What You Want available at the show.

Get in free if you RSVP to 801-879-9037 or spyder@rageslc.com
before April 30th

Tix available at Smithstix

We're sad to announce the end of Mesa Drive. I know you're dying for an explanation... I'll try to keep it short.

This past year has been extremely rewarding yet somewhat traumatic. In the same two weeks, we brought on a new drummer and had all our gear stolen. Things got pretty stressful after that. We started to focus more on making money to pay back the gear and less on the fun part of being in a band. Musically, in the studio, I think we started to pull in slightly different directions as well.

Life kinda happened to all of us too... things can get kinda out of balance when you play in a band. In a nutshell, Marc returned to school, Taylor got a mission call and Chad took a job less compatible with the band life.

For all of us, creating and playing this music has been an unbelievable
experience. As a band, we've established friendships that we hope will
remain for life and I'm sure we'll get together and play from time to time. We're certainly not ending on a bad note... which is why we wanted to play one last show and celebrate.

We can't thank all of you enough for the years of support and friendship. Thanks for coming to all the shows, buying merch and promoting us. Some of you have kept us going through thick and thin and for that we can never repay you. I think the best thing we experienced was playing a show and watching our fans sing along.

Our list of gratitude is too long to mention everyone but I wanted to extend a special thanks to: Jamie, Anna and all our Families, Jason Steadman, Trevor Price, Sam Sorensen, Chad Braithwaite, Ask For The Future, Allred, Blackhounds, Mury, Postcards Home, Larusso, The Lives of Famous Men, The Heyday, Solid Ground Cafe and Kilby Court.

Anyway, much love folks. Come rock with us this Saturday at the Mainstreet Theater!

Hey folks,

Things are going pretty well at the studio. We're wrapping up pre-production drum tracks this week... working out a few last kinks and last minute tunes that Chad's written up. I think we'll be able to lay down final drum tracks by next week and then move onto bass and guitars.

I can't tell you how stoked we are about this record. This time around we're writing with our fans and our live show in mind. I hope you're excited as we are...

We're heading to 29th Street Studio this Saturday to discuss the game plan for the new EP.

As of now, we plan to self produce the record and have it engineered by Sam Sorensen (Larusso, Ask For The Future) and his brother. Then mixing and mastering by Trevor Price (Take What You Want) at the Lounge Studio.

What to expect? A faster, catchier, more upbeat, sing your heart out style record...  the kind of record you spin on Friday night at the party.

Song candidates are:

Butterscotch
Say What You Really Mean
Over
Burn
Merica
Don't We All
My Summer Sun
Good One
One More Night
Adore
Money

Release date soon to come. Stay tuned...

Also, look out for a few recorded remixes, covers and live songs.

Dude, who's the new guy? What happened to Jon... man!?

Unfortunately, in late July, we decided to part ways with Jon, after much stress and internal conflict in the band. We feel it was a necessary step to take in order to pursue our musical direction and allow Jon to pursue his direction. We're sad to announce it since he is seriously one of the best drummers in the state and was such an instrumental part of our sound.

I hope you all can welcome our new drummer, Taylor Cox. He's an awesome drummer and has been a long standing friend of Zach's. He'll be touring with us and recording on the upcoming EP. Make sure you say hi to him at our shows.

On August 1st, we met up, ready to play a show, only to discover that all our gear had been stolen straight from our van. Guitars, amps, pedals, cables... EVERYTHING! It was devastating and demoralizing to loose all we had searched for, invested in and acquired over the years... GONE!... including the nuances that came only with time and experience to each instrument.

Not a scratch on the van... I assume whoever the punk is that stole our gear  had done this before. And they knew enough to take only the instruments of value and left behind the rest.... they didn't even take our cash box... wtf! I'm pissed just thinking about someone else playing my guitar!

If anything, this tragedy has helped us to become even more focused and determined than before - thanks to our friends and fans.

We've felt such support from you all recently and we can't thank you enough!
Very special thanks to:
Jason Steadman (you know why)
Jamie and Anna for the continuous love and support
Sam from Ask For The Future for encouraging us, pledging your love and lending us your gear
Steve-0 for the guitar sent from the Gods
Russell for the bass and the rig
Guitar Czar for the discount
Ken, Randy, Joelle, Jeff, Chad B, Jessy, Caroline, Kat, Elise - thanks for support

We've been raising money to buy the gear back. If you'd like to donate, you can send money to jason@loungeflyentertainment.com through PayPal. We'd really appreciate any and all help.

Who's ready to rock with us on the 12th?... we're itchin to play...

Anyone wanna lend us an old tv or a vintage amp or two?

We're shooting some new photos this month with Chad Braithwaite and we need old tv's or amps for the photo concept.

Message us if you're interested in helping out!
