I think this is from last year. I used a different edit, though.

I'm going to try to start taking more road pictures. Trucks are only mildly interesting because I see them every day, but some people like them.

Aundrea Texture

I've been working with Gimp foer a few years, now and I keep discovering new things I can do with it. Textures are really good for photos that aren't sharp enough to print as they are.

Full or Modified, Your choice

Tony was over last weekend and we were shootin' stuff. I remembered that I wanted a picture of myself posing with Dads ol' double. How did it turn out?

Boat Dock

I did not edit much here. Mostly, I took away the color with UFRaw and scaled it with Gimp.

Diffused And Textured Lake

This is the little waterway coming out of the State Park in Ninety Six. I don't know what it says or how I feel about it.

Every ol' timer at every company that I've ever been associated with loves the idea of "seniority." You know everyone wants special treatment and privileges. Some people can only get those things from squatting on a job for ten or fifteen years. So, I have a little story for a squatting truck driver.

I worked in a small town factory in the south a few years ago. It was a small town and everyone who had not worked there, at least, had a relative who had. Well, the managers were from a greater era. They believed that there was a place for everyone in our great society. Anyone who wanted to work, could in fact work at this small plant. If you couldn't work at a production job because of some deficiency, a simpler easier job could be found for you.

Now, there was a particular floor sweeper who was a little slow. By slow, I mean mentally deficient. He couldn't run any of the machines. He couldn't fill out forms or keep track anyone who did. He couldn't even manage his own affairs. So, he was a sweeper. He worked hard and one of the plant managers made sure his rent and utilities were paid and he had decent clothes to wear and groceries in his pantry.

He spent the better part of his adult life sweeping floors and I have to say that he was a fine floor sweeper.

If you haven't guessed the moral of the story, I'll spell it out. I know you've been driving a truck for twenty-eight years. At the end of the day, when you're home from a hard day of "steering wheel holdin", you, sir are still retarded.
