'The Sun Came Out', the 7 Worlds Collide double album will be released on 31 August through Columbia Records in the UK. Recorded in just three weeks, the album of 24 brand new songs features tracks from artists Neil Finn, Ed O’Brien and Phil Selway of Radiohead, Johnny Marr, KT Tunstall and members of Wilco, with all proceeds going to Oxfam.

Neil Finn is bringing the 7 Worlds Collide project to London for a very special one off show at Dingwalls in Camden.

The exclusive and intimate show will take place on August 11th, and will feature Neil Finn, Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway of Radiohead and Glenn Kotche and John Stirratt of Wilco. Together they will be premiering tracks from the forthcoming album The Sun Came Out.

Over Christmas 2008 and New Year 2009, Neil Finn has invited the core band from his 2001 Seven Worlds Collide project, plus some other special guests, to create a new album at Roundhead studios in Auckland, New Zealand.

Guests confirmed so far are Radiohead's Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien, legendary guitarist Johnny Marr, founder member of The Smiths and current member of US alternate rock innovators Modest Mouse, Soul Coughing's Sebastian Steinberg, multi-instrumentalist Lisa Germano, Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone, Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, along with NZ musicians Liam Finn, Don McGlashan and Bic Runga. All proceeds from this very special recording will go to support the continuing great work of Oxfam International.

And look out – if you think this is just going to happen behind closed doors, you're mistaken – Neil plans to share this unique event with music fans in New Zealand by presenting a short series of intimate and informal live performances at:

Having just finished their European tour, for the first time playing venues in Russia and Poland, as well as England's Glastonbury Festival, Crowded House are confirmed to headline this year's Homebake Festival in Sydney. Other amazing acts to perform include Sneaky Sound System, The Vines, Cut Copy, Gabriella Cilmi, Pnau, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson and many more.

The festival will be held at
The Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney City, NSW, Australia
on Saturday, 6 December 2008, 11am-11pm.

Tickets will go on sale 9.00am Monday, 18 August from Ticketek and the usual outlets. All times are local. Check the Homebake Festival website or myspace for more information.

Every year, Homebake have been highlighting a number of charities and causes. This year, they will be focussing on the work of internationally acclaimed human rights organization, Amnesty International, on the eve of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948, it outlines the view of the General Assembly on the human rights guaranteed to all people.

Having sold out three nights at Dublin's Olympia, Crowded House have just added another show in the Irish capital! The band will be kicking off the European leg of their tour at the Ambassador Theatre on Saturday, 14 June.

A special fan presale has been arranged through Ticketmaster and will start on Wednesday, 7 May, 9am. The presale password is TRANSIT. Tickets will go on general sale on 8 May, 9am. All times are local.

*Update* Crowded House will be playing at the Rockhouse in Salzburg, Austria, on Tuesday, 15 July. A show in the Polish seaside town of Sopot, near Gdansk, has also just been added. Crowded House will be playing at Sopot's Forest Opera on 18 July.

Former singer and songwriter with the Mutton Birds, the New Zealand musician will be opening for Crowded House, as well as joining the band on stage for some numbers. We're pleased to announce that Crowded House will be playing this year's Glastonbury Festival. The band will be appearing on the main stage on Saturday, 28 June, to play one of the UK's oldest and best loved music festivals.

Registration for the festival has just reopened, so you have another chance to register if you missed out the first time round. Tickets are still available, but you will need to register to be able to buy any.

Crowded House have confirmed their first North American tour of 2008. Instead of single dates at big venues in many cities, the band are returning to some of their favourite North American towns and performing short residencies at more intimate venues. Starting in New York City on 28 April, the tour will end on 17 May in Los Angeles, with five cities in between. Crowded House have started work on the follow-up album to "Time on Earth" at Roundhead Studios in New Zealand.

Tickets will start going on general sale later this week through Ticketmaster and the usual ticket outlets (full details below). However a special fan presale has been arranged, starting from today. Please see tour dates below for exact presale and onsale dates. All times are local.
