there's nothing here for me
there's nothing here for you
the devil you choose to give your soul to
I wont follow
I cannot follow you

my heart it's dark you can see
the blood drips black
that doesn't mean I'll give up everything

the devil you choose
it's not my craft It's not my venue
only so much until I break down in tears
 fall to my knees
I forgive you

but that doesn't mean that much to me
I'll never forgive you
for leaving me
for leaving me

standing alone I look up to the sky
so many questions I ask why
I do not have time to waste
I have no time to waste

I have a notion
I must follow through
and you
and you
the devil you choose
the devil you choose

the devil you choose
you choose

my heart is so blinded
by all of this
my heart is cold
my heart is not really beating now
I am cold I am empty
I choose my life over what you hold

the devil
the devil you choose
the devil
the devil you choose
the devil
the devil you choose

my heart is cold
my heart is empty
my heart is cold
my heart is empty

I'm cold I am empty
I choose my life
over what you hold

I am behind these walls
I want to break out
I've been held up

Now i want out
I don't want to be here
I don't want to be here
I want to be somewhere

How could i get past this
How could i get past this
I don't want to be here

Wont you take me
Please take me
Close your arms around me tight
I will open my mind to you
Just take me with you

Wont you take me with you
Wont you take me with you

I can't take much more of this
I'm getting weaker at my knees
I been here way too long
Now it's time to break free

I don't want to be here
I don't want to be here
I want to be somewhere

How could i get past this
How could i get past this
I don't want to be here

Turning in circles
I'm getting dizzy
It's been a long day
I am ready for something else
Something to get in my way

What could i do to make you notice
I'm here waiting for you
I'm here with my back to the wall
I'm here waiting for you

Wont you take me with you
Wont you take me with you
Wont you take me with you
Wont you take me with you

Wont you take me with you
With you

Jol'e Williams makes up So A.D.D and this is her debut album.

She darts impatiently between musical styles and that lives up to the band name.

Potential Disaster sounds a bit Goth with swirly guitars and a strong lead vocal.

Dark Night is a whispery lullaby that's nonetheless on the sinister side. Williams is good at that sort of a thing.

Brown Eyes has a rough, garagey feel and Williams vocal slithers like a snake.

Joseph Arthur's "When I was running out of time" gets covered in a very nice way.

Jol'e Williams has made an album that's worth hearing and she's a talented artist.

100 Years of Silence: REVIEWS ~ >

Lush Lo-Fi
author: Brian
From the opening strains of "Potential Disaster" you'll notice that the lovely Jol'e carries a vocal style that combines shades of Souixie Souix, Gwen Steffani, and Patti Smith; this combo feels very carefully generated and it works perfectly with each and every one of the tracks on this disc. It would be safe to say that most women artists wish they could make such a patently cool album. This is a richly textured album which grows in both spacial depth and its mental effect each time it is replayed. There's so much more to it than one would first think. So...I must go spin it again...right away!

So A.D.D.

Jol'e's voice captures the likeness of Tori Amos, hypnotic and mesmerizing and yet goth-like and enchanting like Siouxsie Sioux.....So A.D.D. truly mixes up their sound and style which I personally liked because sometimes you feel like you're listening to the same song with a different beat with most artists. Jol'e is a story teller with her soulful voice lending comfort and inspiration through song..I especially love, "I Wish" Joseph Arthur's "When I Was Running Out of Time" and "I Miss You." Each song is different in its own harmonius beauty leaving you wanting more when the CD is over. This is a must buy to start off for 2008.

So A.D.D.
author: Matthew Snyder
I had the privilege of having this album hand delivered by Jol'e Williams herself, along with a virtual walk through of the creation and layout of the artwork involved. Her dedication alone is worth noting in it's self. Furthermore, I have been a fan of
So A.D.D. for some time and have been anticipating the release '100 years of silence' like a stuck pig. Raw, progressive, dark, and a self-admittance of having a crush on Jol'e's chaotic/radiant voice is purely unsubstantial, and inadmissible in a court of law. So don't blame me when you wake up criminal. Through the torment of the the United States Postal Service, and rebuttal of an African witch doctor, I was able to enjoy this 'compilation' of some very talented musicians. It's So P.L.A.I.N. to see that this album reaches out and refuses to let down even the most pessimistic of souls. What are you sitting there for? Are you waiting for it to come up and bite you in the pecker? A MUST!

So G.O.O.D.
author: Michael Anderson
Crafty, well blended mix on songs that is layered with the beautiful, haunting voice of Jol'e Williams. The album progresses through a mix of beats that surprisingly fall in place to make a well-rounded group of songs comlimented by the multi-instrumental talent of Mok Marquardt. Everything falls in place to make this one of my favorite albums - I would highly recommend this one!!

A True Original
author: Darryn
From the grinding gristle of "Potential Disaster" to the eerily beautiful soundscapes of "Dark Night" to the flat-out gorgeous "I Wish", this album is an adventure for the ears. The continuity of this album given the range of material is a testament to the production skills of Stan Satin and Zod. And I can't say enough about Jol'e's distinctive vocal presence. Her voice is as sumptuously textured as the music. No, still not enough, but it will have to do!

better & better

I like this record more after each listen because I'm always noticing something new with how the whole experience comes together. While 100 Years of Silence reminds me of Hope Sandoval's Bavarian Fruit Bread, I cannot say it's descended of anything. When I DJ's in the early 90's bands like Lush & Mazzy Star we called "shoe gaze." You want to look at SoAdd...

author: Jeff Clark ----Stomp and Stammer Magazine
100 Years of Silence is a bizarre and inventive debut from So A.D.D., the handle of Seattle vocalist, songwriter and musician Jol'e Williams. Let Tori Amos attempt albums written from multiple personas --- this one actually achieves it! Playful, disorienting, strange and seductive, the album zigs and zags its way into your psyche, but never loses your attention. ...Included is a cover of Joe Arthur's "When I Was Running Out of Time" that renders the original inconsequential...

Metamorphosis
author: Michel Sellam
Well, it's true that this album was purely inspired by artists such as P.J. Harvey, or Hope Sandoval..But still, I am in the need of more time to understand, and be able to write about it. It is with no doubt, a deep voyage into the Sea... Well, it's also true that I had the great honor to be "around" Jol'e while she was recording it...Piece by piece... But I had the chance only lately to listen to it from its right beginning. Perfectly balancing its pace between the tracks...blue and dark colors. Jol'e's voice is just shinning above the parts... "I wish" is a beautiful song, and Jol'e is a brilliant artist.
