As most of you now know Kill My Wardrobe has opened up on the 3rd floor of Affleck's Palace, 52 Church St, Manchester M4 1PW.  Affleck's is situated in Manchester city centre and is easy to get to on foot or by public transport. It is a 5 minute walk from Piccadilly train station, and seconds from both Piccadilly Gardens bus services and Market Street Metrolink stop.
For those of you already familiar with Affleck's palace, Kill My Wardrobe is in the old sweet shop "Candy Pop" based next to the fancy dress shop on the 3rd floor. You can either take the stairs if you're feeling brave or the lift if you'd like to preserve your energy to run in circles in my shop. When you come out the lift you just walk straight ahead and you'll see my shop in front of you, if you take the stairs, again just walk ahead in a straight line when you reach the top and you'll end up by my shop. If you end up in the cafe you've gone the wrong way my friend. turn around and try again!
Pictures will be up as soon as I can so you can marvel at my handpainted black and white checked floor as well as lots of new stock!!! Maybe you'll even get a proper map to gander at...but you'll have to bloody behave yourselves.

Come by and say hi!
Your pal,

Current mood:  thirsty
I've had some weird questions from you guys, some not so weird, but many frequent. So here's the answers to a few that might save you some time and save me a repetative strain injury.

Q) Hot damn, I love your stuff...shame I live all the way out in the middle of nowhere and far across the sea. How on earth can I get my clammy hands on some of your merchandise?
A) Never fear, if your town/city/village/mountain/desert has a postal service then nobody can stop us! I will post world-wide. So long as you reside somewhere on planet Earth then your clammy hands will be fondling my felty goodness in no time at all!

Q) Cool! Oh...how much is postage going to cost?
A) Mainland UK postage is £3 for up to the first 3 items you order. Orders over 3 items will incurr a greater postage cost, but you will be quoted before payment.  I always obtain proof of postage and message you as soon as your item is in the mail. For £2 extra I will post UK Next Day Delivery, which I would highly recommend as you will then be fully insured should anything happen to your item. Please state if you would like this service when you place your order. If you choose to have your item delivered by standard post then please note that I am not responsible for your item once it is in the hands of Royal Mail. Any loses can be taken up with the postal service. International delivery cost varies depending on your location. It is usually no more than £3-£5 (depending on size of order) but please contact me first and I will give you a personal fee.

Q) Even better!...but do you accept fanobian wooden dollars???
A) Hmm...that's a tricky one. The easiest way to pay is through paypal. You don't actually need to open a paypal account to use paypal, you can just send one off funds in any currency through their service! So long as you convert your currency to British Pounds Sterling (£) then I don't care if it was once euros, dollars, yen or anything else! If you're not sure how to use paypal then just message me and I will talk you through it. If you don't like to send money over the internet we can always discuss alternative payment methods, such as cheque or postal orders...nothing kinky though, got it?

Q) So you don't accept sexual favours as payment?
A) Not usually, no. You'd have to be pretty fucking exceptional.

Q) What materials are your products made from?
A) Most are made using Felt. Some items are made using Fleece, Acrylic & Cordouroy, but not very many.

Q) So how do I care for my item? Any washing instructions?
A) Most of my items are made from felt which is 30% wool 70% polyester. They are machine washable at 40 degrees on a gentle cycle, but if you really love your item I would recommend you handwash it carefully. Do not tumble dry felt items. If a felt item becomes very creased, just hang it up and the creases will fall out. I would recommend you keep felt scarves on a hanger in your wardrobe so they stay nice and crease free for when you want to wear it. :)

Q) So, how do you come up with your ideas/designs?
A) I'm submerged in a tank underwater, depriving my brain of oxygen for several minutes each day. Upon re-surfacing the euphoric rush of oxygen to my brain gives way to sudden, and often excruciating strokes of genius. I bought the tank off ebay from Michael Jackson for a fiver!

Q) Do you always have to answer questions like a wanker?
A) You love it.

Q) I love your scarves, would you sell me your pattern so I can make one myself?
A) I cannot dignify this question with a response. Honestly, this question makes me want to laugh...or punch you in the face really hard.

Q) Do you customise clothing? If I sent you an item from my wardrobe would you kill it?
A) No, sorry.

Q) Do you do swaps?
A) The short answer is no. There is also a longer, more insulting answer which I will give on request. The only swap I make is for British Pounds Sterling, GBP! Swaps wont put another coi carp in my piano shaped pond, peacocks on the lawn or feed my cat!

Q) I have a shop and would like to stock your brilliant, creative, wonderousness. Do you supply at wholesale prices?
A) Hell yes! However, as my products are not mass produced I cannot supply you with multiple duplicate items for resale because my designs would loose their uniqueness. I will be happy to create a one off line especially for your shop or discuss other options with you. Message me for more info.

Q) Why don't you send off your designs to a sweatshop in China and make millions!!!
A) I won't do this for lots of reasons. Kill My Wardrobe is a DIY project. I do everything myself, from drawing up the patterns to the very last stitch. The idea behind this project is not to make millions but to hopefully be able to get by, by doing something I love. While at the same time providing you guys with some original ideas and one off wonders for your wardrobe. The whole reason I started doing this was because I was sick of seeing everyone dressing the same, if my designs were mass produced they would loose their uniqueness and all my hard work would have been for nothing. Believe it or not I actually enjoy making these things for you, I wouldn't want someone else to do it. I would make more money if I sent stuff off to China I'm sure, but not everything is about money. The idea of having my designs mass produced by some poor sods probably getting paid 6 pence an hour, in a horrible dank, dark, basement somewhere in China doesn't really appeal to me! I'm also pretty sure that if I made excess amounts of money that I'd squander it on class A's and male hookers anyway. The only items which are not made by me are the plain t-shirts and dresses, these are made by American Apparel and are sweatshop free, made in their downtown LA factories. I then embellish the t-shirts/dresses with my own hand-drawn designs in my studio. You can visit the American Apparel website www.americanapparel.net to read up on their sweatshop free policy.

Q) Do you have a shop?
A) YES! :) I've opened a shop in Affleck's Palace Manchester, on the third floor. It's awesome, come say hi. There is lots of one off stock in the shop that is not available on the internet!!!

Q) Do you have a website?
A) Yes,
www.katiecrush.com but it is under construction right now, so please contact me through myspace for the time being.

Q) What do you look like? Is that you modelling your stuff in the pics?
A) No it's not me. There are no pics of me up on the site, sorry...freak.

Q) Do you always take payment in advance? Like, before the items are posted?
A) ...YES!

Q) What is your returns policy?
A) Refund: If the item is faulty I will give you a full refund if the item cannot be repaired or replaced, your choice. However, I should mention that each and every item is made by myself so I know how much care has gone into its construction. I also double check the item before it is posted out to you and pride myself on their quality. If (and this hasn't happened yet but if...), somehow your item does have a genuine fault I will always gladly deal with it for you. I can spot a genuine fault and I can spot a sabotage! I WILL know if you are trying anything and I will not be happy! Sabotaged items will be returned to you in the exact same condition as I recieved them, no refund, no repair, no exchange, and lots of frowning.
Exchange: If you decide that you just don't want the item or (in the case of t-shirts/dresses) it doesn't fit, then so long as the item is unworn and in re-sellable condition I will offer an exchange to the same value, or greater than, your item. I will provide measurements for t-shirts/dresses before purchase, and it is up to you to check if the item will fit you before purchasing. I cannot refund the difference if you chose to exchange for an item lower in value than your original purchase. Custom orders are not entitled to an exhange/refund unless the item is genuinely faulty.
Basically, unless it's a genuine fault then your exchange/refund is at my discretion. But I am pretty nice so as long as you're pretty nice also then I will always try to give you what you want!

Q) Like, Oh my god...where did you get that skeleton in your pictures???
A) It was a Christmas present from my mum & dad. They got him on ebay for about 50 quid I think. He came from Germany, the box said Ralph, I called him Boris. I think it suits him better. He's been a good friend, I might get him a girlfriend this Christmas.

Q) So, I can pay using paypal, you will ship to absolutely anywhere in the world, UK postage is free....what else do I need to know?
A) Absolutely fuck all, now if you're not buying anything then get out of my imaginary shop. Thank you.
:) xxx
