Into The Woods -- January 18 - 20

into_the_woods_logo.gif

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Ridinghood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

Bat Boy is over, and yes it's sad. But it is time to get ready for Seussical!  I'm not sure I'm entirely ready to move on!  I hope you are!

It is so exciting that we received Patron's Pick!  I kept telling myself that last night would be our final show.  Knowing that I would be dissappointed if we didn't get one more show.  I have had a such a great time with the cast and I haven't performed in nearly 5 years, it's great to be back.  I'm glad I had the opportunity.  I'm really glad to actually get to perform with my son.  It may never happen again, due to the age difference and he may just not want to sing with his mom, but at least we go the chance to do it once.

Saturday is finally near!  Doing this show is awesome and it seems like we (including me) spend all week waiting for Saturday to get here so we can rehearse.  Tomorrow we will finally get to work with all of our special effects, blood.  Everyone is very excited.  Unfortunately we will not have our severed cows head until our tech rehearsal.  Oh, well... at least it's almost saturday!
