Wake up & Smell the Seaweed's FINALLY OUT! And we cannot be more excited and absolutely psyched about it's debut release. More details will be out soon about how you can get your hands on it. (And it doesn't matter if you're from half way round the world, if you want it - we'll seriously send it!) - but if you really really really really can't wait, you can go bug the Aging Youth guys. Muhahaha.

Rock the sub was awesome, the crowd was really spontaneous and responsive. We cannot thank enough Terance from Substation for the invitation to play, the sound & stage crew, photographers, Peter Shuan Hedger (YES! He's the bassist from Crossbred) for standing in for our darling Fat Cat who's enlisted a day before (sobs) , the Aging Youth Fellows and of course everyone that came down to give the release the support. <3

We've got more shows lined up within the week, so do come on down if you can.
we'll be selling the EP at every show we do now.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

Finally an electric set from our two-month-long hiatus (fortmoon?) and it feels GREAT! (:

School Invasion Tour kicked started for us with the Montfort gig, with Inch headlining the stage (yes, just Inch on vocals and guitar!). And I have to say, that girl really has got her game going.

Next up for us was St. Patrick's, where the boys went nuts over Inch! I guess I can identify with the boys cos back in my old school (all-boys as well), a bee amongst the birds would make the birds... go wild or something...

Kudos to Syedo, Ben Low & The rest of the Invasion Tour Team (:

But anyways, yeah. The electric set was a refreshing restart from all the recordings at Leonard's. We are seriously looking forward to playing at Youth Park with B-QUARTET (Our local fave), as well as other new faces to us! COME SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC ON THE 19TH OF APRIL!

Till then, Inch is still not wearing any panties.

Yours faithfully,
Matt

Its been ages since we blogged up anything up here. (:
I guess the new facebook craze has really snagged us off myspace. (no offence tom)

Anyway, just a general update on the band. Everything’s been going on pretty well. Just incase to those who don’t know yet, we’re currently coming up with an EP album, Wake up & smell the seaweed thats intending to be released in late April. So if you’ve been wonder why you haven’t really heard from us, we’ve been hiding under our rock, tied up with the preparations, recordings, post-production & post-post production planning. We’ll be pretty much halfway there after we send our stuff over to USA to master. Till then, we’ll be keeping you updated about everything.

Not long about 2 weeks ago, we headed up to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a show. Meng and Kevin from Love Me Butch brought us around. The are such cool dudes. The whole trip was just awesome, crowd at the show was so friendly, there was !@$%^&* awesome foood everywhere & Ramly Burgers. Sadly, other than stage photos, we don’t have any other photos of our journey cause none of us are cam-whores.

Quite alot of stuff happened while we were in KL, and i’d almost forgot to share about one of them. It was the night before our departure, fatcat, hq and i decided to take a little late night stroll. Near our hostel, there was this gay club near by, called Frangipani. And right near an alley next to it, there was some kinda comotion happening. It was some fight with a Caucasian man, a Malay dude & two other ladies. They were all screaming and shouting at each other, it was hard not to ease-drop. They were arguing about some mellow-dramatic love triangle between them - i think. The Cauncasian guy was evidently drunk. We were minding our own business, just sitting and chatting when the guy started walking towards us. "You think its funny! You laughing at me buddy!" he fiercely exclaimed. And among all of of us, he picked innocent looking hq to pick on and physically smacked him on the head about twice, for no blooody reason, before walking away wailing. What a wierdo. We then just sat there, looking at each other in bewilderness when the pissed drunk Cauncasian suddenly turn around and "confronted" us for the second time, "YOU STILL LAUGHING BUDDY! YOU THINK ITS F**KING FUNNY!". And just before he could give another smack to hq, his friend/enemy or whatever the hell they were to him ( the people he was previously quarelling with) stopped him. Real scary.. but thats not all.

On the very last day at KL, before we decided to cab to the bus station. The boys headed back up the hostel, to get our barang barang. I on the other hand, headed out to the Kiosk just across the road to get some chewing gum. It was just a small single-lane two way street. I could have been careless or the driver couldn’t care less, but within the 4 minutes the guys left me alone, i got hit by a car - not joking. The car basically ran over my left foot (quick enough for it to be still intact thou) and its headlights bruised my left knee. And after the moment i got up from the fall, the car with its tinted-windows drove off without a single acknowledgement. Great.

But it didn’t really mattered to me in the moment, cause all i could think about was getting the chewing gum. So i just got up and limped my way to the Kiosk and back again - the gum was totally worth it. Even the dude at the Kiosk saw what happened and frantically asking if i was okay, but was completely bewildered when i returned his concern with a big grin, a nod and a query on the price of the gum. Nice guy to have bothered to check if i was alright thou. Thankfully, the pain only kicked in when i got on the bus. All in all, all is gooooooooooood.

Anyways, wishing everyone good health and plenty fuzzy feelings. But meanwhile..
(chants) more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs..more overseas gigs..more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs..more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs...more overseas gigs... (chants on)

Its about time put some lyrics up.

Liberty With Wings

Taking its toll, Vision's a blur
Does everything said need to be heard
Pacing it slow, temperament's cold
Does everything heard need to be told
Mindful wishes your heart pounds,
pretending that his presence is absent
My heart will be bursting like the sun.

Can you hear the whispering chanting to the droning sound?
Perpetually puncturing yet personifying the visions around
i can feel the distance glaring in his eyes
Is it natural or my deprivative freedom to fly.

Feeling the woe, my heart with a hole
Does everything said need to be heard
Taking it whole, my self-esteem's low
Does everything exist to be told.
Mindful wishes your heart pounds,
pretending that they're presence is absent
My heart will be bursting like the sun.

Freedom to fly,
Freedom to fly
Freedom to fly.

Can you hear the whispering chanting to the droning sound?
Perpetually puncturing yet personifying the visions around
I can feel the distance glaring from his eyes
Is it natural or my deprivative freedom to fly.

Liberty liberty liberty with wings.
Da de da da da. Da da da de da, da da da de da.

Pheromones

Situations getting out of control
My head is spinning, going around like.. whoa oh ohh.
Time is ticking and emotions a swirl
My heart is beating fast going something like.. whoa oh ohh.

Then my body starts to sweat
and the pheromones are getting into my head

Conversations are getting harder to hold
My eyes are lingering going around like.. whoaaaaaaa.
Then my body continues to sweat
and the pheromones get into my head.

Cant stop it
Cant stop it
Cant stop the urge.

Conversations are getting harder to hold
My eyes are lingering going around like.. whoaaaaaaa.
Circumstances start to repeat on its on
My body fidgets going something like.. whoaaaaaa.

Then my body continues to sweat
it must be the pheromones getting into my head.

Limbo

The waterworks are churning,
Turning faster than it should be, than it should be.
For your information,
Everything is buried underneath my feet, underneath my feet.

The letters are crumbled,
New sheets are wrinkled.
Yet uncertainty clouds my vision now.

Yeah, there's something about you.
Yeah, there's something about you.
Maybe it's in your eyes,
Yes it's in your eyes.

Lying naked in my bed,
Staring blank at the ceiling wall.
Wondering should i be moving on,
Taking chances over again.
Wondering should i take this leap of faith
Should i be moving on?

Between the devil and limbo
Lies a hard place, yes its a hard place.
My senses fail me and
I'm falling head over heels over you
Head over heels over you.

The letters are crumbled,
New sheets are wrinkled.
Yet uncertainty clouds my vision now.

Lying naked in my bed,
Staring blank at the ceiling wall.
Wondering should i be moving on,
Taking chances over again.
Wondering should i take this leap of faith
Should i be moving on?

Between the devil and limbo oh oh.
Yes no maybe so, I don't really know

Ladeda

The wages start to climb.
And anger calls and it crawls under my skin
Somewhere in between, i don't really know where it really begins.
And circumstances are being
Far more complicated leaving me jaded, everything seems pretty underrated.
The greed is tempting yet you risk it all
Excuses drip of the tip of your tongue

Lost in translation your talk is cheap
While you La de da, La de da, La de La de da
La de da, La de da da da de de da.
Redundance streams and
You choose to La de da, La de da, La de La de da
La de da, La de da da da de de da.

Anger calls and it crawls under my skin
Somewhere in between, i don't really know where it really begins.
And controversies are leaving me confused
Battered and bruise, the feeling is just so damn eschewed.
The greed is tempting yet you risk it all
Excuses drip of the tip of your tongue

Knowing you, and your hypocritical statements
Knowing you, and your deviant dialogues i can taste your agenda
So stop.

Diary Page No. 13

I feel you trinkling in my veins,
Poetically paraphrased in sequences of sonnets.
Unpredictably captivated i am yours
Beckoning me in the warmth of you

Still you stand motionless illuminating the constellations
With sparkling resonance I breathe you in my loins
And I know that I'm in love.

I'm dancing my way along high narrow beams
Euphoria slips between my toes
Enigmatically captivated I am yours
Beckoning me inside of you.

Your head tilt back
With the gleam your eyes.
As you kissed me gently
And winked twice.
With questionably queer responses
They undermine, my sober senses.

Closure

I don't know where to go
I don't know what to do
Everything seems to fade away.
Everything doesn't seem logical.

You don't know me like you should.
Find someone find anyone, find somebody else.
I'm tired of trying to be sensible.
Find someone, find anyone, find somebody else.
I'm feeling too cold, too lost,
too old to last, to even try anymore.
I'm just pretending I'm okay.

I don't know where to go
I don't know what to do
You don't know me like you should.
Find someone find anyone, find somebody else.
I'm tired of trying to be sensible.
Find someone, find anyone, find somebody else.
I'm feeling too cold, too lost,
too old to last, to even try anymore.
I'm just pretending I'm okay.

Take a look at me now
Do you even know me now?
Did you even try?

Dont even try anymore.

Gamajazillion

i dont believe in fate
not one to contemplate
is it happenstance that i love you more and more

you're never near or far,
i like you where you are
while you're pulling faces as a cat sprang off the floor.

Take me home,
Take me safely back to the open start
The truth is simple
and thats happiness lies in the open heart.

Know that i'm round the bend,
trying to understand the nearness of you.
Time will tell and then you'll see,
what you do to me, the nearness of you.

i'm eager when i wake
to get up and see your face
is it silly to be saying that i want you more and more.

i'm facing the open door,
with my back against the wall
while my heart escapes,
hoping you'll be there when i fall.

Take me home,
Take me safely back to the start
The truth is simple
and thats happiness lies in the open heart.

I got to get over myself,
its late past midnight twelve
and i'm drifting away, are you going to catch me when i fall?

It lies in the open,
it lies, it lies.

Da Jia Ni hao!

LIME Sonic Bang was fun fun fun!
The whole beach weekend was like a mini holiday for the band!
Before that weekend  it wasn't looking too good and we all got a little worried about it. Thankfully it turns out good with a whole lotta lazing around and a whole lotta sun!

Initially, our soundcheck was scheduled the night before. So we decided to get a hotel room at Rasa Sentosa. So that the whole band can chill, have fun and get to soundcheck on time.

But eventually, we didn't soundcheck the day before. Due to some reasons, we rather not share about openly.
But it really got Inch mad angry.

But anyways, the very nice people at LIME were really awesome and they rescheduled our soundcheck to the next day. Cheers to you guys for that!

It was all good, cause we all ended up spending our time at the hotel, playing ping pong and having bubble bathes(individually of course)!

Before we knew it, it was showtime. We had quite a number of techinical hick-ups during our set. But it was alright, all of us were quite psyched up to bother that much about them. Kudos to Thomas and freakyfir for shooting some awesome photos for us! Especially when Fat Cat was looking so sexy with his awesomely unfashionable blue hawaiian shirt!

Many thanks to LIME for having us, Levan for inviting us to play, Licia who have been "baby-sitting" and liasing with us, Justin the soundman (who was suffering from fatigue throughout the entire show) for doing sound for us, the stage manager and crew (we're sorry we did not catch all of your names), Naomi for ushering and coordinating things backstage, Nokia IAC for the publicity, food and hospitality at the VIP tent, Rostina & Sheila of Club Mosh for hosting and selling our merchandise.

To our fellow friends from The Fire Fight (Ah Ah Sial~!), Shirlyn Tan & The UnXpected (Thanks Brandon for the drum heads up!), WGB, Caracal, AVA (Matt, we hope your wound's getting better), Astroninja, The Pinholes (What better way than to start a party with The Pinholes), GSE, Plain Sunset, Bad Obsession, Ivy's Vendetta, The Leaven Trait, Summer's Over, Monophone & Sinn for all the backstage talk and sharing the stage with us.

Most importantly, we would like to thank our friends, family (Mama B & Auntie Doreen) and all the fellow local music supporters who came down to tolerated the early afternoon sun to catch us. Thanks to everyone that bought our Merchandise, the support has been very overwhelming that we're running low on everything. We are truly eternally grateful!

Oh well, but now that its over.. reality calls.
Peace out!

P.S FACEBOOK RULES! GET ONE IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE!

Current mood:  accomplished
That was one hell of three gigs.

First One: Tapestry Weekend (Waterfront)! Thanks to all who came and supported us, we really had fun at that gig: Bringing a more personal stage presence, as well as having even more fun than our Baybeats experience. We hope that you all enjoyed our set as much as we did

Also, it was Gamajazillion's first big day out!

A big Thank You to the organisers for being so helpful, the soundmen who were very efficient, and to everyone who came up to the front for us (okay la, even if you were at the back too). THANK YOU!

(Oh by the way, our previous band's leader stopped by to check us out! Such good intentions. He even gave Inch USD$0.25 --- SGD$0.3670 equivalent as of the selling rate of Mustafa of 24th October 2007 --- but was too shy so he decided to toss the coin on stage and walk away. What a jolly good fellow!)

Many of you must've been wondering about the Lion and Monkey guitarist you saw from our display picture. That was during our "Animals Matter To Me" gig, in celebration for World Animal's Day!

A humid afternoon in mascot suits = Lots of pespiration
A cranky security guard VS. A sound engineer = Unnecessary Tension
An overall happy experience because Allura <3's Animals = An overall happy experience.

Okay that was quite lame. But yeah it summed up the show for us

On a literally lighter note, A MajorMinor Thing @ Earshot was an absolute first and special time for us. We never knew, okay I never knew, that we could pull off such a spontaneous decision to Jazz everything up. We did, and we hope you enjoyed our music as much as ourselves.

I've also heard about some of you commenting on Inch's sexy sexy voice standing out so pristinely for the first time. Nice eh? (Psst... Encourage her, people, she thinks her voice is lousy!)

Looking forward to the next time!

The whole Games Convention Asia was one heck of a "festival" man.
The AsiaSoft booth was the biggest booth that
hogged alot of space at the convention hall.
It wasn't so much as a booth anymore, but rather an entire section.
The place was quite crowded with advert gamers eagerly
patronizing their favourite booths.
Under AsiaSoft were popular games like,
GetAmped, Audition, Gunbound, KongKong Online,
Maple Story, Pangya, Silkroad Online, World Of Warcraft,
Darkness & Light and newly anticipated & unreleased MMORPG, Cabal.

Unlike other booths which was setted up towards
the direction of the conventional westernised exhibition-like booths.
AsiaSoft adapted a more japanese-like theatrical approach;
complete with lucky draws, free goodie bags, gaming consoles,
cosplay-ing models, mascots, autograph sessions
and a stage fully catered to performing acts.
That's where we come in the picture.

It was a tiring 3 set a day weekend,
but was really a good learning experience for all of us.
So we would of course like to thank AsiaSoft,
the organisers of the event for engaging us.
And everyone that was there to check us out!

Fun fact of the day:
Aaron has a phobia for mascots.
Today, he overcame that fear.

A passionate kiss with lotsa lurrrrveee.

Oh well, anyways onwards to next week!
Till then, GAMERS UNITE yo!

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Current mood:  thankful
Hello all friendly local music people!
Baybeats 2007 was a blast!

We thank all of you who came down to support us! Of course, it was a great honour to share to stage with great local bands and our dear friends, The Fire Fight, B-Quartet, Deputy Siren, Caracal, Plainsunset, Bismuth, and many others! (Even if not on the same day... it's the same stage, same event, and we're honoured! )

We would also like to extensively thank the airforce for sportingly coordinating with us to make our show and even more special one!  They really helped us emulate the best live surround sound phaser effect you'll ever get!
