Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.
                                         Ephesians 4:13-32
It may be hard to always follow the word of God. I am guilty of hatred, sin and evil because I too am human. This year has been one experience after another. Some good some bad and I thought of suicide..the ultimate sin. I prayed for forgiveness. I prayed for strength. God heard me and is walking beside me to help me overcome the misery bestowed upon me. Thank you Lord for all you have done. Thank you for helping me to forgive those who were against me. Thank you for the dear friends and family you have given me. You truly are an amazing God!

Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to life above.

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

James 1:5

You can read books and ask others for advice as you raise your children, but how can you be assured what you're doing is best for them? Just as your children come to you with questions, take your questions to God, your heavenly Father. No question is too small or too big. You can't stump Him, because He knows you and your children intimately. After all, He has created you all. God is the best resource you can find!
If you're a mother, you know how precious your children are to you. They are bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh. You would not hesitate to protect them with your life. And well you should, for that's your job as a parent. Take a moment to remember that you are God's child, created in His own image. He gave His very life to save you, and even now He hovers over you protectively. Your children are God's gift to you. You are God's gift to Himself.

Children are gifts from God; they are his reward.
Psalm 127:3 tlb

The righteous will never be moved....Their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.
Psalm 11:26 6-7 NSRV

God is your safe haven from all of life's difficulty. When the pressures of life seem more than you can take...grab hold of the stability found only in Him.  You're His for safekeeping. He stands ready to receive you with open arms. The blanket of His love and compassion are there to surround you and bring warmth to your heart during life's coldest hours. Right now, this very second, I am in my coldest hour and I'm seeking His love. I am praying and standing under His umbrella of protection throughout my sudden storm. Take refuge in Him...He's your sanctuary and mine as well!

Throughout  history the church building served as a place of sanctuary for criminals and debtors to escape the wrath of those who wanted to pay them back for wrongs done. They could not be touched until they had received due process and were found guilty for their crimes. Jesus offers you asylum in much the same way. He has even paid the penalty for your crimes. Sometimes you are the victim, but one needs to remain faithful in His comfort. His righteousness given to you is your safest place.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.

Salvation

[God] says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2

Jesus' death on the cross was God's plan to bring you into heaven once your time on earth is through. But God had much more in mind than you might imagine. Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection offer freedom from any bondage you face. God doesn't want you to miss a single blessing. Let Him save you from worry, addiction, debt, sickness, and emotional pain. Every promise in the book belongs to you. Don't wait to receive His great salvation.

You are truly a perfect person. Others may bring up your past or point out your mistakes, but God has made you perfect through Christ Jesus. Your old life is passed away and all things are new. You have a fresh start...a clean slate. God doesn't remember the old you. Every sin has passed and been forgotten in His mind. Forget it in yours too. It's a new day with new dreams. You have been given a whole new life. Start living it!

Once made perfect, [Christ] became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

Renewal

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

No two snowflakes are alike. No two sunsets are ever exactly the same. Your Creator delivers a masterpiece with every stroke of artistry He inspires. You are no different. With each touch of His hand, with every letter you read in His word, He changes your heart from old to new...forming you in His image. You become more like Him each moment you spend with Him. Your Creator makes all things new, and He's continually shaping the perfect you!

Your relationship with God is alive. You may not know it right now. But, God is always with you and has been from your very first breath. Sometimes you don't recognise His presence for whatever the reason. His signs are subtle and his Blessings are grand! Love for God requires nourishment to survive. Much like tributaries pour into lakes and rivers, you give out of your spirit into all you do. When you give out, you can drain your reserves. God wants you full. Fill up as you renew your spirit and mind daily with His Word and in His presence. Live and breath your relationship with Him and remember...You're a life-giving river of living water. Fill up, pour out, and fill up again!

Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16

A couple months ago my friend Les Boyko sent me some of his CD's. There wasn't a song I didn't like as they're all very well written!  Les gave me permission to play with a tune or two from those CD's,  and from there "Thinkin About It" was born...
Les lives in Washington State, but he's a native Floridian who needs to come home! Thanks Les for allowing me to be a part of your music and your life...you know ♥I love ya♥, so come on home...♥♥♥God Bless♥♥♥

What is Easter

Easter is the annual festival commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the principal feast of the Christian year. It is celebrated on a Sunday on varying dates between March 22 and April 25 and is therefore called a movable feast. The dates of several other ecclesiastical festivals, extending over a period between Septuagesima Sunday (the ninth Sunday before Easter) and the first Sunday of Advent, are fixed in relation to the date of Easter.
Christian StatueConnected with the observance of Easter are the 40-day penitential season of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding at midnight on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday; Holy Week, commencing on Palm Sunday, including Good Friday, the day of the crucifixion, and terminating with Holy Saturday; and the Octave of Easter, extending from Easter Sunday through the following Sunday. During the Octave of Easter in early Christian times, the newly baptized wore white garments, white being the liturgical color of Easter and signifying light, purity, and joy.
The Christian festival of Easter probably embodies a number of converging traditions; most scholars emphasize the original relation of Easter to the Jewish festival of Passover, or Pesach, from which is derived Pasch, another name for Easter. The early Christians, many of whom were of Jewish origin, were brought up in the Hebrew tradition and regarded Easter as a new feature of the Passover festival, a commemoration of the advent of the Messiah as foretold by the prophets.

Responsibility

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24

Sometimes it feels like your hard work goes unnoticed. Maybe you're tempted to slack like the other guy, telling yourself that no one will ever know. God knows your heart. The One that holds the future in His hands sees your faithfulness. He has entrusted you with much responsibility because He knows He can count on you. He will reward you and will bring you into a place of blessing. Expect it and believe He'll do it. God applauds you!

You may feel the weight of responsibilities you have been given. Given the current times of the world remember that God made your shoulders broad enough to carry all that has been assigned to you. Embrace your responsibility knowing God has given you grace to carry it, and when it seems to heavy, He's always there to help you. He won't leave you alone to do what He's asked you to do. He won't let you fall under the weight. He won't condemn you for stumbling under the load. If you have faith in our great Lord above remember this...He's there for you!

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

The term "No news is good news" is not how America's Got Talent works. "No news" means you didn't make the cut!  At the moment, I am waiting patiently by my phone but in all reality, I am not expecting the "CALL!"  However, I throughly had the time of my life...
When I arrived at the Hyatt Regency Miami at 5 am on 3/29/09,  I was surprised to be the 12th person in line.  I thought I would go around the corner and see a million people camped out to get that chance of a lifetime experience.  Instead, there was a small line of 11 people.  A huge sigh of relief...I just might get done and home before dark!  The America's Got Talent crew made standing in line interesting by talking to the auditioners in regards to the paper work and what will happen once the doors open at 8 am.   As the line grew rapidly,  it seemed like you became a part of a circus!  There were dancers, pet tricks, contortionists, singers, not sure what some of the people were performing?  (you would have had to be there.)  Children dressed up like Shirley Temples, opera singers, pets of all kinds, comedians, and about a million Elvis impersonators...lol
Once the doors opened they put you into what they called the "Holding Room.'
Once there, you sat and waited while the rest of the hopefuls piled in.  During this time, there was a woman who was the cheerleader with a mega horn gettting the crowd riled and hyped.  I didn't yell much, I wanted to save my voice!  There was a camera that panned the room and camera people walking around filming the acts.  To me, it seemed they really paid attention to the strange auditioners.  The people who did whatever it took,  just to get that 15 mins of fame!  The Elvis's where right there and a few people ( I think they were people) jumping up for the open opportunity...lol
Once everyone was in the holding room,  we were taken back outside to film the hype commercials they use doing the show.  Nick Cannon, the new host this year ( I wanted to meet Jerry Springer ;( ) came out and slapped our hands.  He got onto a boat they had docked there and with cues from the camera people, we all had to scream "MIAMI'S GOT TALENT!" Then "AMERICA"S GOT TALENT!"  We had to do that over and over again to the point people were passing out because of the heat...I'll admit, I found a security guy and went back inside to the holding room....It was hot and close outside in that Miami Florida sunshine!  Either way, I'm certain to be seen as I was in the camera range most of the time and Nick Cannon shook my hand!  WOO WOO...I had no idea who Nick Cannon was but soon learned he is married to Mariah Carrey.  Big Deal I guess?
So, after all that was done we were then moved to another area for the actual audition. We were all separated into catagories...All singers in one line, all other acts in their lines. Everyone was lined up in the order they arrived and again...I was 612!  (They went by the last three numbers of your assigned tag)
By this time,  my feet were killing me! The standing outside in heels and trying to keep yourself looking good with the heat and humidity was not an easy thing to do...In fact, at times I thought to myself,  Marla?... you have got to be "America's Biggest Boob" to even torture yourself like this?  Hey, we all have a dream right? LOL
Once you get into the actual audition room, there is a camera,  two young and nice looking gentlemen sitting at a desk.  They took us in 6 auditioners at a time, so you're actually auditioning in front of other hopefuls...oh well.  There is an EX on the floor as to where you stand after the one guy gives you the instructions. The instructions are as follows...State your name, where you are from, what you do for a living, your age (which thrilled me) and the song you're going to preform. OK...easy enough.  This will be a breeze!  I was second...the first gal was good.  Don't remember now what she sang, but she was a decent vocalist.  Then it was my turn. Hi, I'm Marla Worley. I'm from New Port Richey Florida. I sing for a living and I am 51 (in my lowest possible voice) LOL...I'm going to perform "Errand Girl For Rythym!"  All of a sudden, I felt my heart start to pound like it has never pounded before!  In my mind I am saying, holy crap I am auditioning for real!!!????!!!!  I did the song well I think as I've done that song a zillion times and knew I could nail it through the nerves...(which I do have a little stage fright and have had since I was a little kid)  Anyway, when I was done the other auditioners applauded and I stepped back into line (and glad to do so too!)  After all of us were done, the guy said, "Thank you for coming to America's Got Talent auditions and you will receive a call within 24 if you make the cut for the auditions in front of the America's Got Talent judges, David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, which will be on Mar. 31 and April 1 at the Filmore in Miami.  Good Luck and thanks again!!!!  We all walked out into the hall and wondered if that meant you could leave now? lol
It was a little bit of a let down after being psyched with hype all day...nobody running out with a ticket to Hollywood.  All of us just looked puzzled like, is this it?  Well yes, that was it and now you wait for that phone call which may or may not happen.  If it happens GREAT and I will let you know... if it doesn't,  well I can say I did it and it was a blast... Everyone with a dream should do this at least once.  You meet some really great people. You see some real crazy people and some real talented people and some not so talented people.  It's fun...Would I do again?  You bet your butts I would...there is always next year!
Have a great day...I'm going to go sit by my phone!
Love to you all and God Bless!
Marla
My ticket and my auditon number...No pics or call phone camera's were allowed, so this is my "I auditoned for America's Got Talent and all I got was this flyer and sticker!" LOL
