....................

The media have totally blown this out of proportion in the sense that, they have kind of victimized Knox and dragged her name through the media dirt. Now, I don’t know whether she was involved in it or not, but, the media really have been unfair. Everyone deserves a fair trial – the ‘Foxy Knoxy’ character they have created seems unfair.

.. ..

Secondly, I wanted to discuss Knox’s persona in court. Ok, it seems a little weird how she is so relaxed, often caught smiling, it seems she is treating all this as some sort of a joke, well, not a joke, but maybe not understanding the actual severity of the crime. After all, someone has been murdered.

I could defend her and say, she is only a young girl, 21 I think. Perhaps she is naïve. But, I think most 22 year olds are mature enough to deal with a situation like this in the right way, if anything, to portray themselves in an endearing way.

Her defense team seem like they have the finger on the pulse. They have undermined the DNA evidence against her and have many testimonials (from her friends) of her real personality – apparently she is a good student, not a wild child and constantly on the ‘deans list’.

.. ..

Again, the media say different things. I’ve read that she’s a narcissistic megalomaniac and a popular nymphomaniac. Maybe it’s irresponsible for the media to write these things. Maybe it’s true, maybe not. But it shouldn’t interfere in the trial. I hope it doesn’t.

.. ..

If she is that way - I think these types of ‘psychos’ are really interesting. ....Stanley.... Kubrick, Howard Hughes. They were both paranoid megalomaniacs – but they were also geniuses. True perfectionists and pioneers in their chosen fields.

.. ..

Maybe if Knox is anything remotely like these individuals it may put her in good stead. It could be a defiant act of confidence in her innocence which allows her to comfortably and often nonchalantly respond to questioning. The art of a true genius – or..Well, it could genuinely be a naïve 22 year old, who murdered the girl, and couldn’t care less about it.

.. ..

I haven’t reached a conclusion. I don’t know if she did it or not. Her lack of remorse is something clear to see. But, it has been 2 years since the murder, so, maybe she just doesn’t care about Merchers death anymore.

.. ..

Let’s remember, someone has already been tried and sentenced in this case. The one guy got life for the murder. I think Amanda’s case and her boyfriend at the time, is to establish whether they were involved or not. Does it take 3 people to slit a throat? Not sure.

.. ..

I think it is possible for them both to have been involved. Maybe they did not kill, but perhaps they were there. And if so, then they will both (Amanda and her boyfriend) be sentenced for some kind of Aid and Abet crime. Apparently Mercher had 47 wounds on her body – which implies she was trying to escape and fight for her life. Was it against 1 person, or 3?

.. ..

I’m still researching and learning about the case. I’ve heard Amanda’s statements conflict – she has given conflicting statements on her whereabouts on the night of the murder. I heard one statement claiming she was in the house, smoking weed, and she heard screams upstairs. And I’ve also heard of a statement were she was not at the house at all and was watching movies with her boyfriend. Was she there? Or was she not? One of the statements was a written and signed statement saying something like, ‘I confusedly remember him killing her’. It seems conclusive, but 14 hours of interrogation can drive anyone insane. I heard the interrogation was violent, aggressive and extremely clever – techniques which could break mafia bosses.

.. ..

Another thing, I’m not sure whether sexual abuse was involved in this case. I’ve heard the murder was some sort of a sex crime, but, I haven’t heard any evidence. Maybe it’s the media mixing things up again.

.. ..

   Do any of you know?

.. ..

I really can’t see a credible motive for this crime. The prosecution described her as a ‘wound up spring’ – or something. But there is no clear motive for this crime and still nothing credible has been revealed. All I’ve heard is sex games, satanic rituals and petty things like, arguments; nothing credible enough for someone to kill someone.

.. ..

Overall, I just don’t believe the prosecution has enough evidence here. There is nothing definitive. There is reasonable doubt in all of the prosecutions cases. So my prediction is Amanda and her boyfriend will be tried innocent in this case. But I could be wrong.

.. ..

If you are interested in this case as much as I am – send us a message and let us know your thoughts.

Beholder magazine have conducted an interview with Revenant Dead frontman, West. The full interview is below:

1) What is the exact name of your band?

Revenant Dead

2) Where did you come up with it? What's the meaning behind it?

The word 'Revenant' means to rise from the grave, to be re-born effectively, which we felt encompassed so many different things, both personally and professionally we wanted to express with the band.

3) Who are your current members and what instruments do they play?

Theo - Drums
Darmer - Bass
Ayd - Guitar
West - vocals

4) What genre would you put yourselves into?

I'd say we cut through several genres of music, though mainly we'd be under the metal section in the music store.

5) How would you describe your music to someone?

There is riffs that get in your head and just won't quit, a real up-beat, energetic sound that really motivates the crowd either by moshing or, for the slower numbers like Morphine, starts a real 'lighter in the air' moment.

6) Are your songs political, personal, fictional or something else?

All the songs are of things that have happened to us or someone we know, and the things that happened because of them.

7) Who are your influences?

Influence-wise we're really quite eclectic; there's a definite bedrock of metal and rock in there but also jazz, blues, even bluegrass and funk.

8) Describe the type of person that would be a typical fan of yours?

We seem to have struck a chord with a few different types of music fans. One gig we had a group of death metallers all the way from Sweden on the front row, so we seem to have a pretty wide appeal.

9) Do you have any existing promotional materials we could share with others for you?

Sure. You can buy our first album Imperial Rape March from iTunes or Amazon or any digital site. And our new album is out soon.

10) What is your song writing process like?

Well, myself and Ayd are quite prolific writers so it's a pretty natural process for us; there's always a few songs on the back burner waiting.

11) What are your songs typically about?

Like I say, things that have happened and trying to find some kind of resolution or reason as to the what and why, y'know, describing the world how we see it.

12) What image do you think your music conveys?

I think it conveys a positive, confident stance, empowering the listener to stand up against the things they may feel are keeping them down or trying to control them.

13) What is the ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

The great thing with this band is we have the flexibility to go in any direction musically whilst still retaining the sound that makes it us.

14) Did the recent passing of Michael Jackson affect you as a musician?

Naturally, it's a shame, but he left a legacy behind that no-one since Elvis has managed to achieve.

15) Do you feel your music has changed since you first started?

Musically, we've become more confident in ourselves, knowing we can really push the sound we hear in our heads through the amps.

16) Do you have another outlet other than myspace that your fans can access your music?

We're currently signed to The Orchard, so the album's available worldwide from any music site - like iTunes or Napster - or off our own website.

17) Any opinion on the recent Kanye West incident at the MTV VMA show?

Well, if I was a marketing company, I'd be taking notes.

18) Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering support?

Just the fans, dude, whose energy and support can be really humbling sometimes.

19) What do you hope your fans get from your music?

A reason to stand up, kick ass and chew bubble gum.

We are almost ready to unleash our new album. We mixed it in 8 days. Then it got whisked to New York to be mastered. We've really taken no shortcuts this time round.

We've had no outside sources giving input, no commercial emo producers; no interfering by label executives. We produced the album 100% ourselves. Just the way we wanted it. We have selected and are working with the industries best. We have an amazing artist working on the concepts. We had the worlds greatest mastering company master it. We've got the best publicist behind us, based out of L.A.. We've got the worlds biggest digital distribution company supporting us. What you get is 100% Revenant Dead. Everything we've written and created is 100% from our minds. And in this fickle, recession hit industry we are in, I assure you, it is hard to find that. The corporate machines sometimes like to take away from the artists creativity in favour of selling huge numbers. An element of control is then lost. Nothing wrong with that for most, it's just the way it has to be. But, not with us. We've dictated everything. And we're really lucky to have had that privilage. We've taken no shortcuts what so ever. The album is exactly how we intended it to be. What you will see and hear is exactly from the mind of Revenant Dead.

As things get closer to the time, we will reveal more details. So stay in touch. It's almost ready.
