Here is a couple of links to a new compilation cd i appear on. I've recorded a version of the Hank Williams tune "Calling you" here is the blurb! 21 tracks of spiritual harmony designed for these difficult credit crunching days. 12 brand new recordings including exclusives from bond composer david arnold, noah and the whale, malcolm middleton, cherry ghost, dawn kinnard, theoretical girl, woodpigeon, babel, liz janes, michael weston king and matthew kilford plus nine further religious overtures including tracks from richard hawley, field music, the sufjan stevens produced welcome wagon, el perro del mar, puerto muerto, castanets and more. unique packaging, sleevenotes by dave henderson from mojo and a glorious ringing sound that will have them finger clicking in the aisles. true righteous!

You should be able to purchase the album from one of these links below.

It's just come to my attention that the paypal link to buy "House on the hill" has not been working so anyone who wanted to buy a cd instead of downloading it should now be able to again by clicking on the album artwork on the left hand side of the myspace page

Let me know if it works ok.

thanks

Evening

A few things to mention.

Now there's not much reason to turn on your television these days but I stumbled across Charlie Brooker's Newswipe. It's on BBC4 so just take my word for it and check it out, It's the best piece of television I've seen since the Flumps!
Before the festival season is thrust upon us, we find ourselves being told how amazing all the bands were at SXSW and how the Music industry is still recovering from the copious amounts of alcohol consumed.Unfortunately as soon as the hungovers have disappeared they are faced with the realisation that the Camden Crawl is looming.
I've kindly been asked to play on the 24th which is a friday and I'm playing in the Spread Eagle at around 1.30pm. I plan to bring a few friends along to hit and strum things in a slightly different way than you've not heard or seen before so if you're passing by that day and have a ticket then come and have a listen.

And finally I've moved back into the Granny Annex and I'm just about to start writing again now that i have had a decent declutter.
My main acoustic is now fixed after it had yet another nasty fall, i really should stop being a fuckwit and look after my guitars.

Well there's 45 seconds of your life gone...well 90 seconds checking over the grammar.

Times they are a changin

Seeing as i don't blog too much I thought it might be worth seeing what comes out of my brain for the next five minutes writing this.

Now that the first release is out the way and a plethora of copies are sat staring at me, I've pondered on where to go next recording wise. The aim is to have a more stripped back Download only E.P. at the start of the summer and then another later on in the year with some friends helping create something different.
The songs are in place for the first one and I'll see what spring and summer brings out in my little genius* in the walls.

I've been in contact with a wonderful singer songwriter called Susie Hug http://www.myspace.com/bowarrowrecords who has been making me laugh with her emails and had me tapping my feet with her songs.
She kindly sent me a beautiful lo-fi version of "hearts on fire" to sing on, it still gives me the elusive "goosebumps" when i hear her vocals on the track."
so i aim to call on her help at some point and who knows maybe that song will someday see the light of day.
It's comforting to know looking through Susie's influences that it's not only my friend sam and I who still listens to Wilco's "Sky blue sky" album constantly

Life has stepped up a gear and things are happening and moving all the time, literally, as I'm upping sticks yet again onto pastures new. Settling somewhere has never been one of my strong points.

I've met so many great musicians and more importantly great people over this past year it's made me realise you can make a living out of playing music if that's what you really want. Of course you have to be creative with your time to make ends meet, use initiative in ways you may not have before, maybe do things in a unorthodox fashion and no doubt lose some money along the way but it can make for an interesting life at times even if you don't quite appreciate it till later.
In Hindsight you might say
