MGT is a new guitar trio. The letters stand for Muthspiel, Grigoryan, Towner. Its a great pleasure to announce our new album "from a dream". we have played many concerts in Australia so far, and now we are touring a bit around Europe. We all have studied classical guitar at some point and everyone has taken that information into his own music. Ralph writes most of our music, I write some. the live concert features us individually with solo sets first and then its on to duos and trios. looking forward...

After many years of various Trios, the new Band is a 4tet, with the fabulous Jean-Paul Brodbeck on piano. The album, released end of April 2008, is a new chapter for me. Some of the music, especially the song Earth Mountain, is influenced by Joe Zawinul. (Earth Mountain, translated to German means: Erdberg. this is the Viennese district, he grew up in) I enjoy to be surrounded with the density of the piano, a pleasure I have almost forgotten. Our tour starts soon and I cant wait.

I have been working on a production with Dhafer Youssef, the great Tunesian singer and Oud-player, for almost a year now. It is called GLOW and will be released on material records in October 2007. Dhafers angelic singing is surrounded by a lot of guitar, and some fine contributions from percussionist and drummer! Allegre Corea from Brasil, as well as Austrian bassist Matthias Pichler, who is also in my Trio. On 3 tracks the wonderful trumpet player Tom Harrell has added his unique musicality to the flow. I will post some of the material to listen to soon.
