Current mood: chuffed
Debut album Kairos got a write up in Friday's Daily Record courtesy of Rick Fulton, as you can read below. Thanks Rick!

Gorman - Kairos

A BAND at odds with their image. Gorman (who revolve around multi-instrumentalist and singer Chris Gorman) look mean and moody and wear industrial metal black. But the music is tender and heartfelt. It's like looking at a bear and hearing the voice of a nightingale. Which makes them an interesting listen. Debut album Kairos kicks off with You Know Nothing - a dreamy acoustic guitar led number which owes more to Jeff Buckley than say Green Day. It's a stunning start. The album has the perkiness of pre-stadium Coldplay and final song The Morning Song is a massive power ballad. Also noticeable is Chris' clear voice which sounds like Michael Buble in parts - perhaps he's trying to hard to hide his mainstream pop possibility.

The album is out now

The band play Capitol, Glasgow on Nov 5 and ABC2, Glasgow on Nov 13

The debut album "Kairos" is now available from all the usual digital download outlets including iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and Amazon MP3. If you buy it from Arkade.com, you also get bonus track "Snow" bundled with the album! If you download the album, let us know, and if you give us some feedback, we might even send out ANOTHER exclusive track to thank you for taking the time to do that!

Link buttons to both iTunes and Arkade are on the MySpace page, and the official band website will be online soon, with more pictures and tunes, as well as news, gigs and blogs.

Thanks to everyone who made it down to the last few gigs, and hopefully see you all at the next few.

Current mood:  excited
Coming up this week, a few gigs in and around our second home - Coalville near Leicester.

Thursday 17th July - the White Hart at 82 Market St in Ashby de la Zouche

Friday 18th July - the Leicester, London Rd in Coalville

Sunday 20th July - a 7.30pm set at Hard Drive Festival for the third year running! What a great festival!

Make it down to one (or of course, all) of these shows and you could go home with a brand spanking new shiny not-even-released-in-Glasgow album sampler CD, featuring two tracks from the forthcoming album "Kairos" and special unreleased bonus track "Snow".

Hope to see you there!

Outside of Glasgow, the Vic Inn is the venue we've played the most. Ever. I was back there for a solo slot at the inaugural Star Warz Festival (on May the 4th, obviously) thanks to Comrade Weab of the good ship Kid Klumsy. I even got a real bed to sleep in thanks to Nick, our mate, and I got a ninja style twenty minute taster set the night before, too. The only downer on the whole experience was that Mario's gave us the wrong pizza. I hate mushrooms, trivia fans. But it was still a good pizza, I just picked them off. I'm selfless like that.

We'll be back down to the Vic in July for the 3rd Hard Drive Festival - a get together that is simply getting better and better every year - and the atmosphere is always brilliant; particularly for a band that are far from home.

A big thanks to Weab, Nick, and John, and also, thanks to Tom, Neil and the rest of the guys from the home team who took the time to come out to the gigs, and say hi afterwards, too. See you in July - with the new CDs this time, I promise.

Chris
