From the very beginning of Lost White Brother, we always had in mind to make a video of one of our tracks. We chose "Where East Meets West" because the title is very apt for the island on which we live. It is a melting pot of western and eastern culture, and evetually when the politicians get their act together and solve their differences, both Greek and Turkish Cypriots can get back to living in harmony as they did for hundreds of years. The video took a year to make as we had to fit in shooting with Seahorse Film's busy schedule, but we feel it was worth it to have such a proffesional outfit backing us (and may we say, for no financial reward).
Our Thanks must first go out to Andros Achilleos Of Seahorse Films in ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cyprus without which this Movie Clip could not have ever been possible. Special thanks to Marios, who patiently edited hours of footage which was pieced together into form this end result. Also, thanks to Sotiris who was also a great help in finalizing the movie clip...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
We were planning on writing a few words relating to the concept of the movie clip but Bonni, one of our good friends on Myspace, while commenting on our page, summed up the clip perfectly in less than a paragraph.
Bonni…..
"……as the sun begins to shine and moves from East to West; providing a lighted backdrop for the beautiful trees, wildlife and seas. Yet, its power is in the juxataposition of the debris we have and the waste we create, giving not another thought to what it might mean for tomorrow…."
Peace

Dear Friends,
Although we regard ourselves as primarily musicians, we can't escape the fact that our album is definately a concept album. It has been pointed out to us many times, that the listening experience is much enhanced by listening while looking at our slide show photos. To this effect, we have posted many more photos which we feel capture how we both feel at what is being done to our planet. We invite you to listen again whilst watching the slide show, and if any of the photos inspire you to think of an appropriate caption, we would be pleased to see them, and if we agree with you, we will then place the caption under the photo with your name under it!!
an example would be under the picture of the tornado forming - Hell hath no fury like Mother Nature scorned!!
Thanks in advance
Chris & Mike

Hi friends,
Over the past months Mike & I have had many comments and emails asking when our album would be available. Although we could have released a good album months ago, we decided to go the whole way. So, on the advice of our manager David Symonds, who himself has been in the music business since the sixties, we sent our mixes to Skye Mastering's Denis Blackham, who we were assured was at the top of his game. Dave was not wrong. The mastered tracks that came back to us have lifted our music to another level. We then sent the glass master to the printers recommended by Denis Blackham, who handle top named bands and recording labels. The result is a professional CD that both Mike and I are proud of, and which is a world apart in audio quality from the MP3's currently playing on our page.
The CD which has 10 tracks, is now available from CD baby (There's a button on our site that takes you straight there), and digitally from all their affiliates, such as I Tunes, Napster, etc.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many Myspace friends and musicians who have supported us, and hope they will continue to do so!!
We are currently working on a music video to "Where East Meets The West" and once we've finished that, we'll be starting on our new album, Collaborations, which will feature some of the great vocalists and musicians we've met through Myspace.
Thank you all once again!!
Chris & Mike

Music is my passion and radio is my mistress. Although the sum total of my musical prowess is three chords in the keys of E, G and C, many of my closest friends are sublime musicians who seem to have forgiven my inability to master an instrument. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the very best, although it would be tasteless to name them here.
I met Mike Cherry in 2001 when I was preparing an application to the Cyprus government for a licence to operate an FM radio station. I knew immediately that he was a kindred spirit and he has since contributed immensely to Coast FM's output. The station's mission has always been enshrined in a total commitment to artistic excellence, which makes it very difficult to accommodate local talent. This presents the programmer with a dilemma. On one hand local radio should do everything it can to nurture and encourage local talent. But, on the other, how do you achieve that without compromising output? The problem with models like the French system, where a fixed percentage of local content is mandatory, is that the Pepe Le Pieux Accordion Band ends up next to Phil Collins… which sounds awful. The only local artist to have persuaded me that he can play on the radio alongside maestros of the rock 'n roll pantheon, without embarrassment, is Chris Louvieris. We are not practising any form of musical snobbery here: compare the local scene with recording facilities and budgets overseas and it is hardly surprising that there are no Cypriots in the Hall of Fame.
So I knew Mike and I knew Chris. I am proud to have been the catalyst in bringing these two remarkable talents together. They are both prolific composers, they are multi instrumentalists and they are true musical visionaries. Lost White Brother is Pahana, a deity awaited by Hopi Indians, who is presently hiding amongst the stars. His arrival will be apocalyptic, but when he comes he will not be like the white men we know now, who are cruel and greedy. The Hopis were warned of their coming long ago. But still they await Pahana. So do we all, I guess. Mike came upon this piece of Indian mythology some fifteen years ago and, like Pahana, has been hiding amongst the stars until the opportunity arose to build a musical concept around it. The encounter with Chris Louvieris has provided just that opportunity. Their creative collaboration has taken them on a journey which transcends accepted musical formats and at times suspends listening belief.
And this is just the beginning.
David Symonds

"Lost White Brother"
Back in the mid eighties, I came across a fascinating movie that was directed by Godfrey Reggio and was scored by Philip Glass. The film was "Koyaanisqatsi". This is a Hopi word meaning "Life In Imbalance". I will not go into describing the movie as words would be a poor substitute for the impact of the images and music of this movie. Suffice to say, this "movie" has more relevance now than ever before! A little while later, I came across an article about the Hopi and there was mention of a "Lost White Brother". But I thought this was an accurate description of mankind, as a whole! At the same time I thought this would be a strong title/concept for a musical project that I was hoping to embark on soon. I was always involved in music in some form be it as producer, musician, management but all along with a view to begin work on the "Lost White Brother" project, but some vital ingredient was always missing. It wasn't until I met Chris Louvieris and his friend "Angelina" that everything fell into place! ("Angelina" is the name he gave to his acoustic slide guitar, by the way, and it is the first track we completed for the album). Suddenly I had found the missing ingredient for the "Lost White Brother"project, and now, a year and 10 tracks later, we are about to release our first body of work. I would like to say now that this is not a Hopi CD, and I in no way profess to being informed in Hopi philosophy. I can say however, that a Hopi idea was very much the catalyst for this project.
Peace
Mike
