Current mood:awesome

Your Fright Attendants brought home another victory last night against the Demon Cats. If you missed it, you missed some really brutal blocking and star jamming. You still have 2 more opportunities to see the Force play:

April 5th we’re playing the Haters and May 3rd is the Championship. The April bout between the blossoms and kitties will determine who we’re playing in the championships

The 2008 season kicked off for DCRG this past Saturday at the DC Armory. Due to lack of available dates we'll only have 4 bouts, all double headers.

Scare Force was back in black and left the Blossoms black and blue. The Blossoms scored 10 points in the first half and we held them to 2 points in the last half. You should go read Justice Feelgood Marshall's write up on his website - Derby News Network. Justice is a ref for the Charm City Rollergirls, a skater for Harm City Homicide in addition to being the author of many bout recaps and the creator of Derby News Network. Support his site and read about how awesome we were this past Saturday. www.derbynewsnetwork.com

Current mood:awesome

Sorry I've been slacking on posting the recaps. Life has taken over and does not allow me much time to devote to updating the blog as often as I would like.

So, now you know the score of our last battle with the kitties. They put up an amazing fight! They were down players and still looked great.

Next - SF1 takes on the blossoms. You should remember that we played the blossoms just after the expo. It was a fun game and this one should be awesome.

Check it out! Oct 20th. Same time, same place.

Thank you to everyone who came out on Satuday, made awesome signs and yelled 'till your voices were gone. We appreciate your suppport more than you know!

All of our friends and family know how hard we have been working to bring you the best, most kick-ass derby we possibly can. We have learned so much from our league mates and sister leagues and we have tried to put it all into practice every time we take the track. We've spent so much time away from family and friends trying to perfect our game and Saturday was the reward for all that sacrifice. We'll be riding the high from that game for a long time. It wasn't all about the win, it was about the way we played together. Communicated. Relied on eachother. Stepped up to the challenge. Don't get me wrong, the win was awesome but what was more awesome was that we played so well together. It couldn't have been more perfect. That, my friends, is the real reward.

Thanks to all of our friends, families, fans, supporters and sponsors. We appreciate you all so much.

Love,
SF1

Current mood:  chipper

June 30th lived up to the title "Red, White and BRUISED".

Scare Force One came out with a mission - to show the kitties what we're made of, to play to the best of our ability and to have a fucking fantastic time while doing it. Every single player skated her ass off and hit ladies like it was her job.

More info as promised. Better late than never, right?

Scare Force One skated onto the track with one goal - to declaw the kitties. We knew they were going to be our fiercest competition as of yet but we knew we could defeat them. We spent many nights away from family and friends, training hard to be the best damn roller derby team this city has ever seen. This was one brutal game, for bragging rites as to who remains undefeated.

Captain Condoleeza Slice led her team into battle with words of wisdom and encouragement. She told us this victory was ours, that we had earned it. Then she went onto the track and faced off with Camilla the Hun, beating her for lead jammer status and putting 4 points on the board for SF1. The first 8 jams showed the kitties just how hard we've been training. SF1 put up 49 points to their 20, with more than one shut out for the DCDC's jammers, as well as keeping the kitties from getting lead jammer status.

Out of the 23 jams, SF1 held lead jammer status 10 times to DCDCs 7. Harley Quinn led SF1 in most points scored, putting 44 points on the board. Amamzing, considering all 4 jammers for the DCDC only mustered 48 points total.

This game was amazing for SF1. We played better than we ever have before and really worked together as a team. Every single skater worked her ass off for her team-mates and it showed. The individual jammer stats are below for both teams. The first number is the amount of points each jammer scored, the second is the number of times she held lead jammer status.

Thanks to everyone for all of your support and words of encouragement and congrats. We appreciate it and love you all…

Xoxo

Sorry for the delay, ladies and gents. We just got access to the score stat sheets. Big thanks to Ref Neck for locating and posting them to us!

On April 21st, the DC Rollergirls kicked off their first bouting season!
Cherry Blossom Bombshells vs Scare Force One

Both teams were down players but took the track with hope and an amazing display of sportswomanship. A reporter even remarked that there were too many hugs and not enough violence. HA!

Scare Force One Dominated the first period with 51 points over the Blossom's 17 in 11 jams. SF1 held lead jammer status for 7 of those jams. Condoleeza Slice was the top scoring jammer for SF1 during this period. Slice had two 9 point jams over the CBBs Bad Seed and Guantanamo Babe.
SF1 Jammer totals for period 1:
Condoleeza Slice 23
Helena Handbag 11
Nix the Bitch 9
Harley Quinn 7
Trampon 1

During the second period, CBB had a short lived comeback. CBB Jammers Bad Seed and Pam Backhand scored 21 and 17 points respectively. SF1 still dominated lead jammer status, holding this title 5 times to the CBBs 3. There were 10 total jams in the second period. Hellie was the high scoring jammer for SF1 during this period, scoring 13 points. At the end of period two, SF1 had a 40 point lead over CBB.
SF1 Jammer totals for period 2:
Helena Handbag 13
Condoleeza Slice 8
Trampon 8
Harley Quinn 7

The third and final period of the game was hard fought for both teams. Both teams held lead jammer for 5 of the 11 jams. Even though the competition was fierce, both teams shared hugs, kisses and promises of beers while waiting for the jam whistle to blow. The Blossoms fought hard for every point they scored and SF1 matched or one-upped them. The final score of the game was 138 - 96.
SF1 Jammer totals for period 3:
Condoleeza Slice 17

Scare Force One vs. Secretaries of Hate

Two twenty minute periods, two teams fighting for victory.

In the first bout of DC Rollergirls Inaugural 2007 season, Scare Force One led in points and lead jammer status against the Secretaries of Hate. The first period was almost a shut out for SoH, as SF1's blockers refused to allow them to get through the pack very often.

Helena Handbag was Scare Force One's top scoring jammer for this game: scoring 25 points in 4 jams, two of which she held lead jammer status. Harley Quinn followed a close 2nd with 19 points in 5 jams, three of which she had lead jammer status.  Condoleeza Slice scored 16 points in 3 jams, one of which she was lead jammer. Trampon scored 11 points in 2 jams, both of which she was lead jammer. Nix the Bitch scored 7 points in 2 jams, one of which she was lead jammer.

The SoH never gave up and Lois slain earned the top scoring jammer title for this game for the SoH. Lois scored 10 points in 6 jams, two of which she was lead jammer. Whiskey Tango followed her with 9 points in 7 jams, one of which she was lead jammer. Mother Clucker scored 8 points in 2 jams, one of which she was lead jammer. Holly Go Hardly jammed once, scoring 4 points for her team.

At the end of the 40 minutes of play and 16 jams, Scare Force defeated the Haters 78 - 31.
