Thanks to everyone who came to The Belmont. We had a rockin' good time closing out the night for Mr. Gnome (a great 2-piece from Cleveland that was very hard and aggressive, yet beautiful), and The Resurects (another 2 piece with a heavy chest pounding grunge era sound.) Here are a few pics. Photos taken by Sarah Barthlow. See next time!

Here is the Chronology of the formation of the Wednesdees:

Central Michigan University, 1997 - Matthew meets Jason while on the 3rd floor Carey Hall.  Their Dorms were right next to each other.  Matthew and Jason became fast friends.  They decided to room together during their Sophomore year.

Central Michigan University, 1998 - The duo of Matthew and Jason move into Woldt Hall.  They lived with a second Jason, referred to most often as Henry.  Thanks to dorm overcrowding two others were added to the four person Dorm room. Enter Dominic - a crazy hippie who knew how to play only "Burn one Down" by Ben Harper on the guitar, and Matthew Quinn - The Frosh, as he was known for that first year, came from the streets of Monroe, Michigan and Quinn was in a band known as Minus Grover (Mingus Gruber).  The lead vocalist and guitarist in Minus Grover was a guy named Jacob Longton.  Jacob Longton was a  fellow Chippewa living in Herrig Hall.

Central Michigan University, 1999 - Jason, Jacob, Matthew, Matt Quinn and a fifth person, Joe Neff (MPS) all moved into  104 Gaylord, a.k.a. "The Stoplight House".  The stoplight house was the home of the most epic parties CMU has ever witnessed.  Jason and Matthew developed their musical skills thanks to the tutelage of Jacob and Quinn.  Often times the roommates would get drunk and play loud music.  The key was learning to play along with each other.

Central Michigan University, 2000 - Another year of Debauchery at the "Stop Light House".

Central Michigan University, 2001 - Matthew and Jason graduate and move on to the real world.  Jacob transfers to Michigan in Ann Arbor.

But the trio remained close.  Taking in concerts and expanding their musical knowledge and skill.

5 YEARS passed, and in that time something inside the trio began to grow.  Desire.  Passion.  Motivation.  Pure Love for music and the need for quality music brought Jason, Jacob, and Matthew together once again.

November 2006.  The seed was planted.  Matthew called his friend Jacob to see if he had any interest in becoming a band.  Jacob, intrigued, agreed to join the group.  Together Jacob and Matthew called upon Jason to learn a new instrument.  Reluctantly but open-heartedly, Jason agreed to play the Bass in a new Union.

Tis union became the WEDNESDEES.  Their goals:   To make the oldies popular once again.  TO ROCK OUT EVERY VENUE THEY PLAY.  TO MAKE PEOPLE DANCE AND SING.  TO HELP RESTORE A SOUND THAT SHOULD NEVER FADE.  and to do it all together as friends..............  The book has just opened and the Legend will grow...........     THE WEDNESDEES!!!!!!!!!!
