Walken, Danner in talks to star in his directorial debut

CANNES -- Dermot Mulroney will make his directorial debut with "Keep It Together," a family comedy-drama about love and divorce.

In the project, an idealistic young newlywed who is also a marriage counselor returns from her honeymoon only to learn that her parents, whom she saw as the model for a happy marriage, are getting a divorce.

Christopher Walken and Blythe Danner are in negotiations to play the older couple, with producers out to cast on the young female lead.

The project will be produced by Michelle Chydzik and Nathalie Marciano via their 26 Films banner. The script is written by Caprice Crane and Anouska Chydzik Bryson.

Chydzik and Marciano have collaborated with the ICM-repped Mulroney as an actor -- on the 2005 romantic comedy "The Wedding Date" and on upcoming drama "Inhale," in which Mulroney stars as a father who goes to desperate lengths to find a lung for his sick daughter.

Next up for the banner is "My Life in Ruins," Donald Petrie's romantic comedy starring Nia Vardalos about an American tour guide in Athens who rediscovers herself. Fox Searchlight is set to release the pic next month.

The ICM-repped Walken is set to star in mob actioner "The Irishmen," while the CAA-repped Danner is attached to period comedy "The Lightkeepers."

So, in the past couple weeks I've had some major developments. As of this past Friday, I've once again switched coasts. And now, in addition to my next book, I will be writing for a new TV show that it seems some people have already heard of.

Check out the trailer...

Psyched doesn't even begin to describe! Stay tuned (to The CW)...

Big news, people! We just sold my 3rd book to a brand new publisher!

My new book is called Joint Custody and it will be published by Bantam Dell/Random House!!

Here's how it's described...

JOINT CUSTODY by Caprice Crane: a smart, funny novel about a woman who's extremely close to her husband's family...so when he unexpectedly files for divorce she files a counter-suit for joint custody of her in-laws.

I'm so excited I can barely sit still to finish writing it!!!

I am stunned and amazed! Forget About It WON the Readers Choice Award for Best Chick Lit Book of 2007!

I was in such fantastic company and never in a million years thought they'd give me the award two years in a row.

But I am THRILLED!

RT was a blast! I got to hang with some of my favorite people: fun and fabulous writer friends and best of all...READERS!

Thanks to everyone who came to the book fair on Saturday. And thanks to RT not only for the award but for the wonderful convention that brings writers and readers together!

First of all, hi! How have you been?

Second: Can I just say how much I love getting emails from people who tell me they dug my book? I. Love. It.

(And you.)

And now...to those who say they can't wait to read what's next...the wait...? Is still gonna be a while--sorry.

But the good news is I have written *some* chapters of "Book 3" and expect to have some big news this week about what it is and who will be publishing it.

I'm so excited and can't wait to tell you the news. (I can't wait until I KNOW the news!)

I'm off to Montreal in the morning for the FABULOUS W Hotel event and then to Pittsburgh for RT where Forget About It was nominated for the Reader's Choice Award for Best Chick Lit book of 2007.

Remember if you are in Montreal or Pittsburgh, that Tuesday 4/15 and Saturday 4/19 I will be signing books and maybe I can tell you the news in person! xo
