Today, the writing world lost one of it's own. Kate Duffy, top Editor in Kensington Publishing, died today. A shock to the world of authors, writers, publishers and I am sure her friends and family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, and those that wish they had known her. I never had the opportunity to meet her personally, but I do know that her death is a great loss to everyone in the industry. Many will mourn her passing.

Rest In Peace Kate, God be with you.

Your faith and devotion is apparent, The Bride's Journey is moving up in the ranks on www.textnovel.com and I am getting more fans and votes all the time. I thank you all for spreading the word as wide as possible.

I of course would love to WIN this Dorchester Contract they are offering as a prize, however I also wouldn't mind being in the top 20 (page one and two of the contest entries) because this sort of ensures that someone at Dorchester sees my work, and I might get a contract offer that way as well, who knows. I have been told that this story, which is a far cry different from Ravenwood, is even better than Ravenwood, and has a good chance to win the contract.

But, your votes are still NEEDED and very much appreciated. If you have already voted, I thank you profusely from the bottom of my heart. Please pass the word around to your friends and families with computers that votes are still needed. If you haven't yet had the chance to go place your vote for The Bride's Journey by Laurie Sorensen, then please take a few moments of your time and go to www.textnovel.com, register and vote. If you choose to follow the story, you will get emails updating you on the story or stories you elect to follow as chapters are added to them.

Also, please feel free to leave a comment if you like.

Just wanted to step foot into the myspace realm and let my fans, friends and family know that the edits on Ravenwood: Night's Salvation are coming along. Once they get done, I will likely have a new book cover to post, and a released date to announce. As it stands, I am about half way through with the edits. Taking stuff out, leaving things in and rewriting them to make them better, and in general making the story better. I will be sure to let everyone know when I get a release date announced.

Hello everyone...

I am writing a story on Textnovel.com, the website where you can experience the craze sweeping Japan, China and now the US! Please follow this link to read and vote for or review my story:

http://www.textnovel.com/stories_list_detail.php?story_id=1146

The more votes I get, the better chance I have of winning the Textnovel writing contest for $1,000 and becoming a published author. I am also included in the Dorchester Contest via Textnovel.com. I need all the votes I can get. The top one for Dorchester so far has 191 votes already, they have a month head start on me. I know all my friends can help out with this, and pass it along to all of your friends. Help me win this contract.

You can follow the link and select "Get Future Updates" to receive notices by text or email of new chapters as I add them.

Thank you...Laurie

As of April 15th, Ravenwood: Night's Salvation, has a new publisher. I am no longer represented by LSP Digital, LLC. The new publisher is Sapphire Blue Publishing, LLC, an E-book publisher that has graciously taken on Ravenwood: Night's Salvation. New edits will begin shortly, it will have a new book cover and be issued as a second edition on E-book only.
The decision to leave LSP DIGital, LLC has been a heartwrenching and difficult one. I believe it is a positive move into the future as I believe that E-books are the way the future of books is heading.
I will be sure to post another blog on here with information on when it will be released in E-book form.
I currently have several copies of the print book from LSP Digital LLC available from myself. They can be purchased from my author's webpages,(www.freewebs.com/lauriesorensen) via paypal, or please feel free to contact me and I will give you an amount including shipping to send me in a money order for the book.
I thank you very much for your patience in allowing the time for the new edits to take place and the new book cover to be created. Thank you also, for being a fan of my work.

The Troy OH Book Lovers Festival was a total success. I sold and signed 6 books, and left behind an additional 10 books to be sold by the book store that held the festival. I would say that the festival was a complete success. I had a blast, met new friends, and new contacts, and I WILL be going back next year.

Hello everyone...
I am here to say that I am doing a book signing in Troy OH, which is a little north of Dayton OH, on March 14th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. It is the Book Lovers Festival. Anyone who knows someone in or around this area, spread the word. The festival is presented by All About Books, a book store in Troy OH. This is something I am looking forward too. There will be several author's there signing and selling thier books. Come on in, show yourself and have fun. I look forward to meeting everyone I can.

Hello one and all.
This is going out to everyone, Author's and Readers alike. I belong to a wonderful website designed for mothers to get in touch and share things with other mothers. Unfortunately the only drawback is that it is strictly for women (sorry guys). Anyhow, I have belonged to this online group for a long time, and I went exploring on the site tonight, as I have a touch of insomnia. I went looking specifically for a group on the site itself (it's full of interesting groups you can join), I was looking for a group on which I could promote my book, and any other book thatmay come along. I didn't find one, however, I decided to go ahead and create one. In my Book Promotion group, ALL genre's are welcome, and encouraged to post anything they like about thier book. Readers can go in and read about the books as well as post about the books they have read, give reviews and such. The group is open to any and all author's and readers. I have a banner under the about me section here on this myspace page. it is right under the review for Ravenwood : Night's Salvation. The online group as a whole is www.cafemom.com and my group on the site is Book Promotion, ALL genre's welcome. take a few moments to join cafemom, and then to join my group to promote your books. I hope you all (the ladies at least) take advantage of this good opportunity to get involved with literally thousands of other ladies who belong to Cafemom.com.
