twitter is bitchin. if you aren't up and tweeting, join the fun!!! find me.
actually you can hop on from the widget i installed. ha-hem..yes. i installed that. i am feeling rather proud of myself.

hmmm, tidbits...

life changing book: SUGAR BLUES by William Duffy. Folks, it's poison. I've been off of it completely since May 24th and I have never felt better!

If you live in LA, I'm teaching a free class at the Lululemon in Brentwood Sunday morning Aug 9th. Rock n roll yoga and I'll be playing some songs too!

Keep the peace, breathe, and realize how great you are, and how amazing your life is.

Big salty-air hug,

Amy

I still can't believe we've lost Michael Jackson, and am comforted only by the fact that he's finally free.
I was a dancer as a kid and an absolute Michael Jackson devotee. I rewound the Thriller video countless times to memorize moves and memorized my performance dances in my mind by visualizing myself onstage with Michael Jackson.
When this musical adventure I am on landed me in Frank Dileo's Music Row office two years ago underneath a display case with Michael's glove and socks, I figured it a good sign. Frank continues to be a friend and advisor to me in this crazy business and my heart hurts for him right now.

Michael's music will live forever and I will always remember how I felt that night that is now legendary..the first time we saw the moonwalk in 1983 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It's inexplicable, the magic in him that created such a massive sensation around the world. I'm pretty sure all he ever wanted was to be remembered for sharing it with us.

Will Kimbrough and I recorded "Human Nature" in 2003 for fun. Enjoy.

Happy Independence Day.

Love
Amy

hi myspacers...

hi from a gorgeous california morning. forgive me, i've been unfaithful. facebook just feels so handy...check out my musician page there!

economy, noun: the management of the resources of a community, country, etc., esp. with a view to its productivity.
may you remember that just because the news reports a shaky financial economy there is still an economy of kind words, affection, self acceptance, creativity, and personal growth- that you and only you are in charge of. plug into the mainline of sheer gratitude, even for setbacks, and be an optimist. it feels better!!

2009 will be Divine....

happy holidays

i wandered into a beautiful open house on a sunday recently. the realtor was named sharona. i of course immediately started singing "my sharona"
only to find out she was a high school pal of the two dudes in The Knack that wrote it. and she is indeed, THE sharona of "my sharona."
only in LA.

cheers,

Last night Chrysalis hosted me at My Morning Jacket up at The Greek Theatre. I was overjoyed to be there.
I was so moved by the songs. A band like that doesn't come along very often. I think they are sonic time travelers. I think they tour in a spaceship. I'm a rrrreally big fan.

Hi friends,

Peter Harper is an artist with a monthly music contest on his site. "Freeway" is up for September.
http://www.last3rhinos.com/?page=yourmusic
He is inspiring; the whole site is worth the trip.
The interesting thing to me is, Ben Harper is Peter's brother and I finished Freeway after reading an article about Ben on a plane. Something he said in the article just gave me some lyrical gelatin to go seal the song. nee-noo-nee-noo

Soon I'll be driving back, where the green turns to clay and the stubborn desert turns to OCEAN.

Love,

rick venable contacted me when cavalier was up for a vote. he liked the song and wanted to shoot a video. he is a documentary filmmaker in los angeles and thankfully my brother has a place near the beach there and we managed a full day of shooting images i love: the ocean, the pool, palm trees, and of course, my beloved taylor. rick also managed to make a live show (between feedings with his infant daughter) and it all worked out beautifully.
the other day he sent it to the myspace merlin, and here it is!
i am really grateful to rick for his enthusiasm and curiosity and i was blown away watching what a collage it became. it's not like we had cranes and lights. it was just me, him, and a camera, (and my brother and sister in law) and i think he was really creative with the footage.

thanks rick!
