http://cinematografodeitrash.blogspot.com/I started writing a couple of days ago. I needed an outlet for some kind of creative flow, considering I've felt dead inside since May. I;m really hoping to kick myself in the ass and post everyday. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll be posting full reviews and things of that nature. Take a look, comment on my posts, and follow it.

Current mood: crunk
So I updated to the newer, sleeker profile because Tom told me too.It reminds of the old Facebook platform. Apparently the developers for MySpace overheard the angst of the Facebook masses over the new format, and did something about it. Facebook becomes Myspace, and Vice Versa. Lets see how this trade-off affects there virtual popularity. Will the war over the network sites never end? What ever happened to Friendster? Who really fuckin cares, anyhoo? I don't. I'm just waiting to meet up with Bordersauce.
(I just realized you could pick "crunk" as a current mood. That is fuckin' brilliant.)

Truth be told, the last week has been lonely as fuck. Phil has been here for most of the month, and I got really used that. Now that Phil is gone for a short period of time, life is kinda boring from what I've been living. Several of us feel then same way. So Phil, you need to come back soon to make Brooklyn living the way it should be. We need ya Nigga.

Happy 2008...hopefully this is a better year than 2007.
How have I been lately? Hmmmmmph?? The term "awesome" comes to mind, but it took a while to get to that point. After Ian died, it really couldn't get much worse, besides of course, if I had lost both my jobs and contracted the bubonic plague. I was in a deep pit of despair at the loss of one so close and the uncertainty of how my life was going to turn when Ingrid left the apartment.
December was pretty fuckin' awesome. Nate moved in. I worked for 33 days straight. I found a new bar,or two, to call home(the Boulevard and B-Side). Made several new friends. Frank D. visited for a couple of days and we had a blast.Viking Xmas with Nate,Pantace, and Erik. And to end it all, 9 hours at the bar on New Years...I saw the Sun rise while doing shots of Wild Turkey. It was a pretty fuckin' awesome month. Did I mention that Nate and I were possibly the Drunkest Men Alive for about 3 week?. It was our duty to celebrate his arrival to NYC for as long as possible.
Now it's a new year, and I feel it's going to be something of a rebirth in my life. I'm rel-earning how to be Steve the Social Butterfly again. Hopefully with less nakedness, humping legs, and asking girls if they want to "make out". I'm a more mature butterfly this time around. With earlier bedtimes and better taste in alcoholic beverages. A Steve who is less prone to drink a bottle of Jager and knock on peoples windows at 2 in the morning, piss on open streets, or bitch about personal drama. I don't even like Jagermeister anymore.
It's all about the whiskey and good beer these days.
Let's salute the start of a new year and a new chapter in the Book of Life.
By the way, if you hate the MC5, I've got a cement block that would make a perfect swimming anklet.

Today Venezuelans go to the polls to decide whether Hugo Chavez's addendums to the Constitution are going to outline the history of nation for the coming years. I used to be a supporter of Chavez. Back when i was an anarcho-socialist and felt his presidency could be an end-all-be-all to a new world order to the bad rap that socialism has given itself over the past 80 years. As I got wiser, my anarcho-socialist beliefs have been deleted and now I see good old red shirt-wearing Hugo as nothing but a dictator-in-training. He is just as bad, in my eyes, as Mao, Lenin, Pol Pot, Stalin, and Castro. He got elected with the power of the people behind him. But, based on his new referendums to the constitution, wants to be a dictating fascist.
If he get's elected yet again and his changes passed, I have no petty for the Venezuelan people. If you are stupid enough to elect a dictator, you have to bathe in your own shit. Power to the people is going to end with this. you have dug your own grave.
Chavez cares not for democracy or the people. He only wants power, in the absolute sense. So vote for your 36 hour work week. Be prepared for the state to pay you what you have voted to be worth. Nothing.

Current mood: nostalgic
While sitting by myself this cold evening I have decided to go through my old cd-r's for some reconnection to my musical loving past. Against Me is sounding really good to me at this point. Converge will probably be the next to add to the playlist for this drunken evening. A great thing to come out of this night is all the Skyjacker that I came up with. One or two will most likely be played before the night is over. Probably some more against me and Paint it Black to add to the mix.

I had to question on whether Erik Anderson was still around Po-Town when I was visiting last week.Nobody knew, but now I know. He's living in Brooklyn, probably a mile away from me. I saw him on the train today after I left work. He looked at me, I looked at him with a sinister "yeah, you know me bitch" smile, and he got off at the Bedford stop. I should probably learn not to question some things.

It really makes me happy to see the old school heads keeping the faith. A great deal of the fuckers that used to pollute the Elvis Room 10 years ago called it quits in 1999 when they felt the scene had died. Obviously it didn't. I can honestly say I don't listen to much Hardcore anymore. I still pray for the day when I will get to see a Blodgett reunion, I will even travel 400 miles out of my way to see it happen, if ever. Some of the best moments of my life consisted of Blood for Blood shows. I remember strongly when Chris A. brought the Edge and veganism to the Po-Town scene. It was an inspiration, just like Adidas pants and Kung-Fu kicks. I remember when all the drunk punks made fun of the Safe N' Sound kids for being sxe and vegan. This era in Portsmouth helped bridge the gap between the 2 scenes. Nowadays, those same kids who were tied to the X are drinking alongside the old Portsmouth crew at the Barley Pub or the Coat. We have that era to thank for this. I wouldn't have spent a good portion of my life as a vegan( like right now) or vegetarian if I hadn't experienced the counter-culture demographics that were taking place in the Seacoast during the late 90's. I will always give props to my lifelong friends who continue to perpetuate the HC lifestyle in NH and Maine. If it wasn't for muthafuckas like Hobbes,Bobby,Chris, the Serven's,Mike S., Annie B.,Jeff Burnhart,Rob Gonzales, and others I am too drunk to mention i wouldn't be the person I am today. Thank all of you and I love you.
