Just a reminder to everyone that Nancy's latest digital collecion will be released tomorrow, September 22, 2009.  Actually you will be able to download it from iTunes starting at midnight.  I'm not sure about other download sites.

We finally have a release date for CHERRY SMILES: THE RARE SINGLES.  Mark your calendars!  The long awaited collection will finally be available digitally on September 22, 2009.  Unfortunately the CD and vinyl release have been canceled.  Nancy would like to thank everyone for their support.


Here is the cover art.  The rest of the booklet will be available for viewing shortly.

If you are in the Screen Actors Guild you should have received your TV and Film Contract ballot yesterday.  The Guild is saying Vote Yes, but they offer no information other than that you should.  This video actually gives you specific reasons why this is the worst contract to be offered to actors, perhaps since the inception of the Guild.  And for the people who say, "but this is a bad economy, we should just take what ever we can get...".  The  Screen Actors Guild was created during THE GREAT DEPRESSION, a slightly worse economy than this one.

Well, the latest news on the Cherry Smiles collection is that is has been delayed.  However this is a very nice delay!  The Orchard, the distribution company that releases Nancy's recordings digitally, is starting a physical distribution company.  Not only will they be issuing Cherry Smiles: The Rare Singles digitally, but they are looking to issue  it on compact disc and vinyl as well.  If all goes as planned we are now looking at an August release.  Just a little longer.  Thanks for your support!

Unfortunately "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" with Lee Hazlewood, doesn't fit with the sound of the album and was removed from the collection. With the exception of Machine Gun Kelly, all songs have never been on any Nancy Sinatra album and have never been released beyond their release on 45 rpm singles.  There Ain’t No Way and Southern Lady have never been issued in any form.  All songs will be making their digital debuts on this collection.

This collection represents Nancy's recordings on the Reprise, RCA, Private Stock and Elektra Records labels.  Some of her best work can be found here.  The songs here feature production work from Billy Strange, Andy Wickham and Lenny Waronker, Snuff Garrett, Jimmy Bowen, L. Russell Brown & Charlie Calello.  Remixed by Nancy & Dan Hoal.  Dan also did the superb new masters. 

You are going to love this collection!

There have been some changes to the tracklisting for the singles collection.  I will update as soon as I have the new list.  The collection is now called Cherry Smiles from a line in the song "Southern Lady." 
After further mastering the songs on Cherry Smiles will be encoded for digital release and off to the distributer for online release.  So, we are looking at possibly another month.  There is a cover now and I will post it as soon as I am able to.
On another note, Nancy will soon be concentrating on finishing up her Christmas album for release this year.  Christmas with Nancy might be released as a physical CD in the form of an retail exclusive.  She will also be finishing up an album of Jazz standards.  Release TBD.  She also hinted that she may record an intimate album of Spanish language music, ala "Cuando Calienta El Sol" from her California Girl album.

More great news!  The digital album that we mentioned last year is finally on the way.  There is still no firm release date, but it is coming very soon!

All of these tracks are very rare, since most have never been available on any Nancy album or in any form since they were originally issued on 45 RPM singles.  A couple are previously unreleased.
The centerpiece of this collection is, Tequila Makes Her Clothes Off, the final Nancy & Lee recording.  This will be the single from the album.
