Long time no speak friends,

Sean Pruen's amazing video for my track "The Mast" gets a rather awesome mention in:
'Graphic Design: A Users Manual' written by graphic designer Adrian Shaughnessy.
It's going to be on the reading lists for all graphic design university courses in the UK and US.
Available in all good bookshops.  :)

Big congratulations to Sean for his excellent work.  Check out his skills :

Click : http://seanographic.co.uk/

The video is also being played at an event my friend Ben Phaze is hosting @ the London Transport Museum.  Check it out yo: http://www.tunnelsounds.com/

Thats it for now....

hello friends,

Some Capitals news (if you havn't checked us out yet... what cha waitin fowa? www.myspace.com/capitalsband):

This week, myself and Angus made our first baby steps into the world of Capitals live.

It turns out, that this will be a lot more practical than we first thought, thanks to rather clever developments in music technology, and of course the extra pair of hands supplied by Darren Vincent (YaYa Club).

Our goal to go live before the end of the year is becoming reality.

However, it turns out the BBC philharmonic orchestra dont want to gig with us...
so...
although this isnt initially crucial, we feel that it would be beneficial to seek the skills of a live cello/viola/violin player (any or all).  All the parts are written, and we can supply the player(s) with scores for the tracks, however, a player that could riff on these scores to develop them for live would be ideal.

So if you are, or if you know of anyone who could help us.... we'd really appreciate it if you could get in touch. Hit me up on dgo_keir@hotmail.com or get me here....

In Araya news....
you may notice my live schedule is a bit erm... non existant. I've decided to take some time out for now...but Ill get back on it soon.

Also, a wee reminder.... my Whilst We Try EP is available to Pre-order from: http://www.benbecula.com/release/araya/whilst_we_try.shtml - - its only £4... that's cheaper than a pack of smokes; although I can't promise it won't slowly kill you.

Stay Lucky...

It going to be a little bit epic...

With special guest to be revealed on the night,
and Plum creating beauty under fairy light,
I will be playing twice
which will be nice
And I can guarantee it wont be shite.

:D

so.....
get on down to the Wee Red Bar @ the Edinburgh College of Art at 7.30pm sharp. Im going to be opening the night with a look back over my Araya work to date, and then Ill be back on the stage around midnight to show you some of my latest work, and give you a teaser of the musical direction Im going to be taking Araya. Get your dancing shoes on - there just might be a heavy serving of bass, with a side order of 303's

Heyo!

Angus and I were recently interviewed in "The List" magazine for our Capitals project.

There's the usual 'cover all bases' kind of answers you might expect from a new band, so go and have a wee look.

Yallllo :)

Just thought I'd say thanks to all those people who raved like under-age neds at belladrum on Friday night :D

It was the first gig I have ever played where the crowd chanted "Here we, here we, here we fucking go!" - I don't know if i should be happy, laugh or cry at that, so Ill just put it down as one of those interesting life experiences. :D (although I do remember giving it "big air punches" with absolutely no sense of irony!!!)

It was fun though. I had some good company up in that high rise stage, which made it really enjoyable. It also gave me an opportunity to play some of my latest minimal tech tunes, which I'm really happy with.

Anyone got any photos from my set? I couldnt see a thing up on that stage - be cool to see what was going down. :D  fire them this way if you do: dgo_keir@hotmail.com

A big shout out to the outstanding Bourbon Surf and Butterscotch. Unfortunately I missed Butterscotch's set on the Saturday night as we made a hasty exit from the festival on the Friday night, but I know his set would have been one of substance. And on the topic of substance, the mighty Bourbon Surf played some of the finest music I heard during my time there. Climaxing for me when Depeche Mode's - The Darkest Star (Holden Dub)  dropped amongst a wealth of perfectly mixed and perfectly thought out tracks. Fucking right. They will have a website soon which Ill link you all to, so keep an eye out for it.

My next gig is @ Benbecula's Final Vinyl - Its a pretty big occasion. You should definitely get your tickets early, the wee red bar isn't that big, and I imagine the last Benbecula Showcase for the foreseeable future will be a popular choice for music makers and shakers alike. Music will  be coming from new Benbecula signing Plum (you can pre-order her new full length on www.benbecula.com).  And also, the sublime Christ. will be headlining the night.  Ill be doing both an Araya set and  I will also be throwing down some of my latest minimal tech and acid offerings later on in the night.

OK, I believe that is all for now.

yalllo....

How form?

Here's some news! :D

Firstly - "Whilst We Try" - my second release - will be going ahead at last :D September is the target & will be released on Benbecula Records. Ill update with more details as they develop :)

Secondly - As some of you may have seen on the Benbecula Records newsletter - Benbecula will be grinding down to a halt in November. Its been going strong for 10 years and it seems such a shame to lose Scotlands most prominent alternative label - but Im sure the Benbecula head honcho could do with a rest. To celabrate 10years Benbecula are putting on a night at the Wee Red Bar in Edinburgh  - "The Final Vinyl". Myself, Christ. & Plum will be your entertainment - along with some slammin techno till the wee hours. Itl be amazing :D

Thirdly - I had a phone call from Angus (Capitals) last night saying that I was on the bill for Belladrum Festival!? - Im not sure of the details so Ill confirm that soon :D I did notice on their website that the mighty Joystick Disco, Robbie Dunsmore, Plexus and Butterscotch are listed to play (and its rumoured that the outsanding talents of Bourbon Surf might make an appearance) - thats reason enough for me to go!

And thats all we have time for today...
