PBS has a cool series called American Masters. It's an ongoing series of award-winning prime time specials examining the lives, works, and creative processes of our most outstanding cultural artists.

On May 7th at 9:00 PM (ET), they will be airing a series on the life of Marvin Gaye titled What's Going On.

A link to the PBS information page is HERE.

I snagged this from the Blues Historian. An awesome video of Canadian blueswoman Layla Zoe and her all girl Blues Band. The Blues Historian puts it best saying "Zoe is very much like the second coming of Janis Joplin. Nice!!!"

Check it out.

Through a promotional offer, you can get a free annual subscription to Premier Guitar magazine. This is normally a $14.95 subscription, and $60 at the newsstand. But you can get this for free by simply filling out a form and using a special promo code. If you're not familiar with Premier Guitar, you can see a digital sample of the magazine here.

This promotion is being offered compliments of Hamer Guitars to their blog readers. Therefore, it's only fitting that I should direct you there to get the promo code. You better be quick though; this is a limited offer. There are 1,000 subscriptions available, and the offer expires on April 30, 2008. To qualify, you must be a resident of the US, Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia.
