"flowers of destruction" has turned out to be the first sacrificial lamb from our upcoming album to see the light of day. written in august and october 2001, it didn't seem to fit on
the lathe of heaven. we finally recorded it in 2007-08. it may have been played live once in its original form, simply acoustic guitar, voice, and
bryin dall's sparse electric guitar noises.
bryin's sounds ended up playing a much bigger role in the song than initially apparent. anyone who makes it to the end of the song will understand. also special thanks to
scott reiter for synth snippets, and
mario padron for his various basses.
an additional shout out to oliver of
death by audio, who graciously modified one of the effect pedals he designed, which i used on this song.
we look forward to the day this will be properly mastered and released on CD so everyone can hear all the dynamics and details.
thanks to everyone who's been looking forward to new music from us. much more to come.
