there may be an opportunity for dream into dust to play a short tour in england in late october/early november 2009. not sure where the venues are or how many dates there will be.

1. would you be interested in seeing dream into dust live?
2. even if it wasn't right in your town?
3. would it matter to you if it was an electric show with beats or an acoustic-based set?

thanks to all for your feedback on this.

one of our first releases was a tribute to the tv series "the prisoner". creator and lead actor patrick mcgoohan died yesterday.

his unique vision has been an inspiration not only to us but to many other musicians and artists. he will be missed, but his vision lives on.

one of the three tracks on our tribute release is currently streaming on myspace.
Currently watching:
The Prisoner - Complete Series Megaset (40th Anniversary Edition)

the blog on myspace is basically for announcements. however, we know there are people more curious about what we do.

there is now a standalone blog about the recording of our new music. audio clips of songs in progress will also be posted in the future.

"flowers of destruction" has turned out to be the first sacrificial lamb from our upcoming album to see the light of day. written in august and october 2001, it didn't seem to fit on the lathe of heaven. we finally recorded it in 2007-08. it may have been played live once in its original form, simply acoustic guitar, voice, and bryin dall's sparse electric guitar noises.

bryin's sounds ended up playing a much bigger role in the song than initially apparent. anyone who makes it to the end of the song will understand. also special thanks to scott reiter for synth snippets, and mario padron for his various basses.

an additional shout out to oliver of death by audio, who graciously modified one of the effect pedals he designed, which i used on this song.

we look forward to the day this will be properly mastered and released on CD so everyone can hear all the dynamics and details.

thanks to everyone who's been looking forward to new music from us. much more to come.

while taking breaks from working on new songs, we started tinkering around with two of our old ones, "disconnected" and "no world outside". after several tries we ended up with the versions just posted. not radically different from the album, but a bit shorter, with extra punchy crunchy beats and more loudness and clarity.

for myspace we punched it up a little more in case you're listening on those teeny tiny computer speakers. some subtleties are lost, but if you want to hear them, buy the album (from chthonicstreams.com, industrial-music.com, projekt.com, equilibriummusic.com).

we're mailing out better-sounding CDRs to the DJs we promised these mixes to months ago. thanks for being patient. any other active club DJs interested, get in touch with a mailing address.

this is only a stopgap, a lark, a gift. to those who've never heard us in a club or never heard us at all before now. the best is yet to come.

wishing you all a good 777
