Current mood:  bullied
Lots of new stuff up at damagedgraphics.com!!! I recently got sucked into the black hole that is Doctor Who and you can see the first result of that in the sketchbook section under 6/5/08. Later on, there will probably be a dalek stencil on parallax_shift's old frankenstein laptop. Fitting, since it's about as useful as a pepper-shaker that can emulate SNES games (which is to say, invaluable when one wants to play Kirby's Avalanch).

Otherwise, I've been working on some interesting steampunk stuff and doing a lot of deep-sea themed images for DEEP at concept art. Cool project, check it out.

Also, looking for a day job, however, if any of you know of any work available, please please please let me know!

Hope you all are doing well!

Answer to question in previous post: I should try a different coloring style.

So, I've spent a long time developing a style of drawing that I think is punchy and interesting. I like it a a lot because I think it's very 'me'. But there's one problem with it. It doesn't color well. The only pieces that can survive being colored are ones with very large areas of flat black, but my focus is generally more on crazy linework. Coloring that makes it more readable and accessible but also a bit bland.

Take a look at the pictures below. Does it work better in with or without color? Maybe I should use a different coloring style. Help!

I've gone to the Bainbridge Island street fair every year since I was about seven and I always spend the whole time doing chalk drawings on the same bit of sidewalk. I found out this year that someone has been watching me! wooooohhh...
<.<
>.>
She's a very nice woman who apparently sometimes hires chalk artists for parties and she offered me a job! Unfortunately, the job would have been this weekend and I'm not going to be in town but I gave her my contact info so hopefully something will come of it.

Anyway, here's some photos of me and family/friends playing with the chalk. And in the chalk. And I'm sure some of it is even now frolicking in our lungs.

I've been drawing like a maniac lately. Some of it has been working on perspective and backgrounds because I might *crosses fingers* be getting a job doing concept art. The elation/hope/dread has gotten me to do a lot of things I haven't done in a while, like playing with charcoal. Cryptie, Richard and I spent a day getting black dust all over my apartment and ourselves. It was fantastic, we were like little kids playing in a sand box.

I've updated the drawing and painting sections of my website, so go take a look! The comics one is still pretty empty because I *sigh* haven't gotten around to scanning the ones from my BFA show. It's going to be a pain because they're much bigger than my scanner.

In other news, the whole "lets have a deck garden" thing looks like it's quickly getting out of control. There are plants... everywhere.

Current mood:  artistic
I have officially graduated from college. Well, for the second time. But that other time doesn't count. This is much more important. In case you hadn't noticed, I haven't updated in a really, really long time! Been busy.

I now have a new and improved website:
damagedgrpahics.com<

And a show up at Cornish, through the 25th:

Right now, I'm finishing up some web design stuff for my internship and then I'm totally free of school-related obligations.

On to starting my career! Oh, that sounds even more frightening when it's in writing.

I think Michelle and I are doing an independent study in tattoo art with Ellen Forney. I _think_. Tomorrow in the last day for adding courses so if Allison isn't around, we're screwed. Please please please!

Also, I've been drawing again :)
