Fox has decided to cancel "King of the Hill" . Damn. An unsung hero of animation will soon pass into the night. Fox did it with the family guy and then with futurama, and we both know of the fates of those 2 shows. What magic will you fill it with fox? I mean why wouldn't you want to cancel a proven steady winner of a show. I can't say it hasn't been a good run though, I guess I'll just miss dale, bobby, boomhauer, the anipals...

Current mood:  nostalgic

I just watched the last yanks game ever to be played in the house that Ruth built. To see it go is such a shame, especially since I know the fate of such a great place lies only in a parking lot. Paving over it...damn. Someday a drunk guy will piss in the parking lot not knowing he did it where Don Larsen pitched a no hitter. Ain't that america. Well maybe they'll make a monument out of it. That would seem the right thing to do.

I can still clearly remember the day my dad first took me to yankee stadium, or at least one of the times. They played the WhiteSox and lost, typical 80's yanks style, But the one thing that stayed with me was the enormity of it, something it didn't lose when I returned after many many years this past summer. Like Fenway it just had such a unique vibe. The people were still just as obnoxious as all those years ago and everything smelled the same as I rememered. What a great place.

I hope the new place lives up to its name and maybe they put a new championship flag over it sometime soon.

Well it's not like it's not like it was unanticipated, but sometime shortly after I left Groves' house with my stomach full of cheesesteaks I got the call from my mother that my grandfather had passed away. Sadly it was almost a relief. Every time I returned to see him at Griffin hospital he looked more of a shell than anything else. For 5 days he refused all food and even water until everything just shut itself down. I saw him the day before and he looked nightmarish. All doped to the gills on morphine and barely able to breathe. Lord knows how my grandmother stayed there everyday all day.
My mother and I drove down to Derby to break the news to my grams who had headed home for the night. For some reason the hospital had called my mother first and she wanted to be the one to tell her. We talked late into the night and I stayed up even later once I drove home watching very old very bad Amicus films, swilling mexican beer and italian wine, and...other things, all under the watchful eye of my neighbors orange cat who followed me in the door.
My head is still feeling the effects as I write this, I need sleep.

Man I haven't written anything in here in quite awhile. Vacations and house sittings will have a way of doing that. San Diego was as awesome as ever and did it's job well of refueling my batteries and blistering my toes. As soon as Chris gets back on the right coast ( the less earthquakey one ) I'll snag the video I shot of the con and post it. Be prepared for many nerds in ridiculously over detailed costumes and wonder womans nip slip. Hot.
Be advised to all to avoid anything that involves the words mummy or dragon emporer. If you can poke your head in the door see the first 8 minutes, which are awesome, but as soon as it cuts to Brandon Fraser run like hell and don't forget to throw a wet milk dud at the screen before you leave. Seriously the movie is drainingly bad. With comedic pauses in the script that you could drive a semi through with enough time to insert a "wackety smackety do". Bad. Except for the yeti's who just sort of come when you yell for them. Who knew all you had to do was shout "YYYYEEETTTTI!!!" in chinese and the white bastards trot out like the globetrotters ready to put the whupin' to the all chinese communist senators.
Go see GONZO instead. THAT will be worth your while.

OH CT douchbaggery is thy name. Let there be no more questions as to why I stay home. Deuling events may force me into seclusion in the west wing. Its not bad enough that the heartless folk of CT can hit a poor old man and then speed away but today came the sequel. Some heartless son of a bitch hit my cat and kept on going, the poor little guy dragged himself who knows how far and collapsed on the doorstep, hind legs and spine crushed, pulling himself with only his front paws.
To get me out of the depression funk of having to dig a 2 foot grave in front of a crying mother I decided to get out of the house and try a night at Danny O's. There is nothing quite as funny and simultaneously disgusting as seeing an improperly drawn swastika staring you right in the face as you try to piss. At that moment I had it. I was out of there. I'd rather be alone. Fuck every last person in this god forsaken state. I hope you burn to the ground backdraft style from the fire you suck out of satans cock. CT I'd dig you a grave too if I wasn't so tired but lets face it you deserve to picked apart by wild birds who didn't evolve enough to fly and shat out upon the stage of history. Fuck it I'm out.
