My New Grand Project, for whoever might be interested. Set to shoot the first of four films in England later this year. If all goes well. This link should tell it all: http://jackhillpresents.com/

Dear Friends: What Scott wrote about my "work" in his film The Kiss is pretty close to accurate. Occasionally I play small cameos in films as a favor to friends, and Scott is a really dear friend of many years. I played a really nasty high school teacher in his film, which was fun, and a bit of weird compensation for the way I recall being treated by a really nasty teacher in high school myself. And that was Hollywood High School, of all places. Well, I wasn't treated all that badly, I guess, but other students were. If a teacher acted like that these days, he'd likely be sued or ordered to counseling, at least. But in a movie you do take certain liberties. Good luck to The Kiss! Catch it at a theater or drive-in near you!

An outfit called Porkepyns Film Memorabilia is advertising Spider Baby lobby cards on eBay. One is shown on the Spider Baby MySpace page. Although they may be interesting and nice to have, they have been created from still photos or screen captures to look like lobby cards. Fans should know that these are not original lobby cards or even copies of originals.

I'd like to recommend a film of mine that's not very well known, but which some of my fans think is my best work -- and with whom I would tend to agree, although perhaps not for the same reasons. Pit Stop is -- if you can believe this -- my art film about a stock car racing, but a particular kind: figure-eight racing, where there's an intersection -- with no traffic lights! I always thought the movie would be especially popular overseas as an example of totally wacky mind-bending exotic Americana. Unfortunately, it was the last great action film in black & white, at a time when theaters -- and later foreign video buyers -- only wanted color. It's available on the net, distributed by Anchor Bay, and the transfer is from the original 35mm "answer print," on Gevaert stock -- the next best thing to the negative. It features Sid Haig as well as Ellen Burstyn, not to mention my favorite little waif, Beverly Washburn. Oh, and Brian Donlevy, if anybody cares. I'm not trying to sell anything here, just wanting to let my friends know there's a fine movie here that they might not have otherwise heard about.
