"MUSTH"

No discrimination in a bomb
Doesn’t hear
Doesn’t read
Won’t play along
It doesn’t feel that the world is so strong
All we hear is the screaming of it’s song
And so we sing along
Wrong
Take a step back
Oh no
It’s time we taking action
Fight for our lives
Survive the ending by a fraction
I see the bitter end is standing at attention
I guess there’s nothing more that I forgot to mention
No discrimination in a bomb
Doesn’t fear
Doesn’t veer
Never wrong
It doesn’t take time to see what be gone
Then I know another brother standing at the door like King Kong
Well
Step right up become the part of our great mission
Invoke the power to the new reformed addition
You claiming this be bringing peace to all the patrons
I say the trouble started here right in our nation
So take a look around
Try to see everything I see
And could you ask yourself
Does the problem lie here within me

I get no sleep
Do you know how?
Help me please.
My eyes be weak
But I'm still here on my feet
I can't control this game ashamed
I don't know how to live any other way, Price to pay
It's a seven day 24 hour haze
So I convince myself to stay
And I want to play
All night and day
It's an addiction
Friction I feel inside
My mind be awake now
Before my own eyes
Goodness sake where's the break?
God let me be
Just let me rest one more
moment to breathe
Keep workin, keep searchin
Keep pushin on
Long through the night
Right into the break of Dawn
I awoke one night a mess
Like a heavy weight on my chest
Press forward
Gettin' outta bed
Make a move from the dead
Our life's too short so make the best
Coulda been a better lover,
hater, cheater, fighter
Get some static
Automatic system overdriver
Pop culture's not from me
Gonna break it wide open
Like Moses did the sea
So can you fathom what it's like to never sleep?
Never leave this post
Never catch this ghost
Hear me count from A to Zee
And I won't shut down this system
I'm here til the end
I'll make you believe there's more to this plan
So I've been up all night
But I still don't comprehend
And I know my body needs to mend

I realize I am starting to sound like a broken record, but Canada is brewing some of the best reggae rock bands in recent times. Maybe it is because it doesn't have a California stereotype to live up to, but the music coming out of bands like Goodbye Beatdown and Giraffe Aftermath take the genre into exciting new directions.

Around before both those aforementioned bands, Dodger was mixing reggae rock into an alt rock sound. With a new fresh five track EP, Abombanation, the band has the crossover potential to really blow up! With the foundation of a huge production sound and catchy choruses, each song instantly attracts. There is no better example than the EP’s lead track and made for radio, Count and the dramatic The Sleep.

Musth is the most fun and interesting track here with horns punctuating the groove. I swear it also sounds like an elephant is sampled on that track - maybe that is just me. Still it is one of the most creative tunes I had the pleasure of being exposed to this year. Like most really great EPs, the five tracks here is too short a number for maximum enjoyment.

If you like more rock in your reggae rock, if you like to bang your head and sing-along Wayne & Garth style while listening to your rock at ear bleeding levels, Dodger should automatically default to the top of your "must purchase" list.
