Have you ever gone to a party and looked around at the people there? I mean, really looked? If so, you can probably tell just by looking at them what kind of person they are and how they like to party. There's usually that one loner girl sitting on the couch, all by her lonesome, there's "the dancers", the DJ, because what's a good party without great music? You have the jocks and their little fan club, and then of course that very drunk loud guy - let's face it there's one at every party.

Start with that poor loner girl seated on the couch sipping on her red plastic cup of beer she'd picked up back in the kitchen. She's now seated next to the couple who have their tung shoved so far down each other's throats, it's about the third time she's considered calling a couple of EMT's to come rescue them... or her, whomever they'd get to first. On the other side of her as she sits there slowly sipping, her arms folded over chest and an irritated smile pulling on the corners of her lips and you smile to yourself realizing why that's so. You can only imagine what she's thinking. As she sits there shooting fire at the drunk guy hitting on her with her eyes thinking something along the lines of, "you have two seconds to get as far away from me as you can before I kill you."

'Pour thing,' runs through your head as you pitifully shake your head watching the two of them. Whether you'd like to admit it, guy or girl, we've probably all been there.

Looking around the room again, you spot The Jocks walking through the door. These are the guys that walk around wearing their letterman's jackets, high-fiving random people as they walk through the party. They all have enough gel in their hair that if the party had been suddenly hit by a hurricane, not one hair would be moved out of place. As a girl, you'd find each and every one of them to be absolutely gorgeous before you soon realize what a bunch of morons they really are - most likely due to all the hits they'd taken out on the football season this season. Girls practically fall over fall over themselves trying to get them to notice them. It's almost pathetic. You notice one of the guys smile and nod at one of his adoring, ground kissing, worshipers and says, "what's up, Jessica."

"Jessica" waves back with a smile that could light up Las Vegas if it had to. Too bad her name was Ashley, though, she didn't seem to mind. She was just happy to know he'd acknowledged her existence.

"Wow," you say to yourself again laughing and shaking your head and taking a sip of the crappy beer you'd managed to snag for yourself ready to continue this game of I-Spy you've started. Because, really, how could we forget (drum roll please...): The Drunk Guy. Everybody knows him. He's probably the nicest guy you've ever met, and the drunker he get, the friendlier he becomes. Then again, unless you're known to be a fairly angry drunk, who doesn't get a little friendlier after tossing back a few right?

You look up around the house when you hear somebody yell, "What's up, Gary," across the room.

Gary (the drunk guy), looks over at whoever it was calling out to him. With a sloppy grin on his face and eyes slightly glazed over with his third, fourth, maybe fifth red plastic cup in his hand he flexes his arms like an out of shape Hulk Hogan look alike and let's out a loud drunk growl.. A few people around you laugh and someone waves back at him across the room vigorously and he nods his head in a sign of acknowledgment. Poor Gary's always had slight case of A.D.D. that seems to shine through a little more the more drinks he's had and it looks as though it's just kicked in again when he spots one of his buddies in the other room. "JIMMY!" he yells so loud that it causes you and a couple of surrounding people to jump and laugh. You've gotta love, Gary.

Who else is there? You walk further into the party and you smile and wave at your friend, Eddie, the DJ playing your a remix of your favorite song of the week, "Love Hangover" by The In Crowd and Estelle. He knows it's your favorite and that you know every word. You're almost tempted to get up and dance with the group of people all huddled together dancing in the cleared out dining room. They're all the same people, known as the chronic dancers that have probably been there all night long since the music first started. They're like the Energizer Bunny - they just keep going and going and going. You stand back and watch the rest of the crowd as four or five guys are brave enough to step out in the middle of the room and brake dance as you stand back wishing you could do that, too.

But who are you? The fly on the wall? The loner on the couch? Maybe the one hitting on the loner on the couch? Are you friends with the DJ, or the one dissing the DJ? Most likely because you're just jealous. Could you be the queen bee of the "hot girls"? Because face it; whether we like to admit or not, we all have a little but of Regina George somewhere deep inside ourselves. Or, could you be the guy everyone wants to be, or be friends with? Whoever you are, don't just stand there. Get out there - You go be the life of the party.
