Category: Religion and Philosophy

if have time (a lot of it, actually!), read this article:

http://blog.industrialbrand.com/2007/02/the-church-of-branding.html

but to give you a "clue", here are few extractions:

"These are good stories to tell. Much like the need to belong to a community, people make choices based on how they understand a brand itself and the reflection it will have on them. Eager believers will explain the values and benefits of their faith in a bid to win you over to their team just as a trusted friend's word of mouth endorsement for a product or company might serve as a powerful motivator for a consumer's brand choice."

"The human animal tends to desire structure and leadership. To a fault many would argue. We can't help it. As a result we create heroes to follow and worship in religious communities. To maximize this effect, brand strategists carefully choose and elevate well-known heroes as spokespeople for a brand. With fans that already look up to and emulate them, they become the strongest form of influencer. They become like the preachers, or deacons of a congregation, spreading the word and serving as the living embodiment of the ideology and brand values."

"Perhaps the most significant reason people dedicate themselves to a religious group is the promise of a better future, or the salvation concept. It is a universal component to all religions and surprisingly not dissimilar to promises made by brand strategists. Much work is dedicated to creating a promise of a better life if you choose this product or that service. The problem in both of these scenarios is when that promise falls flat on its face."

Current mood:  optimistic
so, it's been awhile since i last wrote something..not that there wasn't million interesting new things happening.
(learning swedish makes it all even more great.)

the past few days are just amazing..sun almost every day...keeping me busy admiring the nature. at the same time there's this film festival going on in ljubljana (LiFFE), so i have shows almost every day.
(a must see: darjeeling limited!)

and there's other stuff ...kinda looking for a new good music to listen to. i'm stuck somewhere. & opened to suggestions..- thinking of concerts i'd like to go on in the (near?:) future -this is my list: qotsa (maybe already on 21th february in vienna?), BRMC, the white stripes, deftones and (at least once more) NIN. + most definitely will see again sleepytime gorilla museum. an amazing experience.
wishing, praying, hoping for the reunion of APC!! ..-wish me luck, keep fingers tightly crossed..

alors: best to go make
myself another cup of tea (caught a  cold!)
then off to do stuff and act like a good student;)

enjoy the sun (if) while you can!-

Current mood:  confused

i'm currently at some strange point in my life. - don't quite know what to do with myself...don't know which music to listen to...a bit cranky...-in one word: "bljak!"

maybe it's the approaching exam period that makes me feel this way?!?

_________________________________________________________

i remember last year..had a week of oral exams for matura...for the last one was really sick...had the exam at 8am...then ran to tivoli from where we left for bologna to see tool. wicked

looks like i'll get many more "presents" this year ...and all that even before the end of exam period. -first, i'll "arrange" myself one giant minus on bank account, then in july get to work. -if you have the time and are in mood for a "sunday trip", you can visit me in bohinj...i'll be renting canoes and similar stuff (last year also had some crocodiles to ride;))

welcome.

best of luck to all. mental health...

well, just found out that on 26th june tori amos is coming to our lovely capital (which gives us no reason what-so-ever to jawn about nothing going on!) ...and just after my bro informed me last weekend we're gonna have the honor to see mr. manson in krizanke on 20th june.

...i just hope i'll be able to pass all the exams at the same time

i found two great news:

1.queens of the stone age are going to release bunch of new tracks in june (the name of the album will be 'Era Vulgaris')

2.there's a colaboration between members of red sparowes, neurosis and peeping tom (mike patton) going on...name of their new project is The (Fallen) Black Deer...you can listen to two demo tracks on their myspace site: www.myspace.com/thefallenblackdeer

seems like much going on in spring/summer (not only at university)...and my wallet is shallow:) but i'll find a way...there's nothing stopping me...not even one HUGE minus on my account:)
