Who's To Say What Shape Is Normal...

Join three voluptous women as they open their hearts and minds to possibilities beyond the normal...and straight into the paranormal.

Who's Your Alpha? by Vicky Burkholder
Sunny Clark always thought she was the only shape shifter in the town where she grew up. But when she returns for her high school reunion, she is shocked to find that nearly the whole town can turn into one thing or another. Including her teen crush, David Maxwell.

After a challenge for position in the pack, where Sunny defeats the town's Alpha female, the real question becomes does David only want the new Alpha female, or has he always wanted Sunny just as she is?

Out of the Storm by Misty Simon
Sarah James' quiet, almost solitary life changes when she rescues a wet, bedraggled cat out of a raging storm. But he always seems to disappear without explanation, only to return at the oddest times. Is he really lost, or does he have a secret life outside her apartment walls?

Trenton Cutlass has been forced to roam ever since he was cursed into the form of a fat, tabby cat after dusk. No one has ever taken him in...until Sarah. Suddenly, breaking the curse is more important than ever, or he'll have to abandon the lovely Sarah forever.

Sheltered by Victoria Smith
Drugged and lost after escaping a deranged kidnapper, Dane Masters is stuck as his hereditary alternate form. While wandering the streets on four wobbly paws, he's taken in by vet tech Izzy Burnett. Once he has regained his strength, and his memories, Dane realizes he has found his predestined mate. But will he have time to convince Izzy before the kidnapper turns killer?

Danger on Xy-One

Vicky E. Burkholder

Book 3 in the Hunters for Hire series

Cerridwen Press – coming January 10th

Aleksia Matthews is an asteroid assayer who would like nothing better than to be left alone. Her life is soon turned upside down when a band of ruthless pirates attack her ship. She manages to escape, but fears the worst for her brother. Ali swears revenge. Although well-trained by Fleet Security, she knows she can't do the job alone. When she literally runs into Jason Cole, a blue-eyed, raven-haired stranger, she knows she has met the perfect partner—in more ways than one.

Special agent and Bounty Hunter, Jason Cole has spent the past year tracking the pirates that killed his brother Zack and Zack's family. He's always one step behind; too late to help the victims. There are never any survivors—until now. It is up to him to keep the golden-eyed, auburn-haired beauty alive and out of trouble until the gang can be captured, and maybe longer.

FATAL FLAWS CLASS
by Laurie Schnebly Campbell

Giving likable, plausible characters a compelling conflict is easier
with Enneagrams. Counselors and personnel managers use this
personality tool to identify the nine types: Perfectionist, Nurturer,
Achiever, Romantic, Observer, Skeptic, Adventurer, Leader and Peacemaker.

Each of them has distinctive traits, including a fatal flaw, that will
naturally bring them into conflict with other people...AND with
themselves.

You can read the class lectures on a yahoogroups listserv, or have
them emailed directly to you. For details on this $30 class, held
Oct. 1-29, see www.WriterUniv.com

The long and short of the contest: Create a book trailer for her upcoming release "Tempted". You'll win a autographed copy of "Tempted" and $100 gift card.

Current mood:  contemplative

Natalie tagged me. (Us - hopefully V1 posts hers on here too!)

Here are the rules:
1. Go to this link at Pop Culture Madness (scroll down - see the list of years on the left?)
2. Pick the year you turned 18
3. Pick five songs from that year
4. Wax nostalgic about each song and why it's special
5. Pass it on to 5 more friends

Ha! Okay, I'm going to do it, but I have to tell you up front that I suck at song titles and artists. I can remember the tune, but that's about it. But...Here goes:

1. We Built This City by Jefferson Starship
I remember this song because they played it so darn much. Wasn't a favorite. At all. I would, and still do, change the channel if it comes on.

2. Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Do I need to say anymore? That was like the theme of the year, and for several years after 1985.

3. Everyday by James Taylor
I love James Taylor.

4. Small Town by John Cougar Mellencamp
This is one I probably know all the words too. I'm not sure what that says about me, except I loved me some John Cougar. I think I even had the cassette.

5. Can't Fight This Feeling By REO Speedwagon
Yes, I saved this for last. As soon as I saw this listed I knew I had to put it up. Okay, I'll admit back then I loved the song. Now, it just makes me giggle. Except when Dean Winchester sings it.

Actually, I was amazed at how many songs I know on my list.
Time for tagging: Ami, Jo and...(Okay, the others I would tag have either already been, or wouldn't do this even if I did tag them.)

Behave!

August is the only month without any sort of recognized holiday. You have been tasked with creating one. What or who will it honor? Why? Will it be national or international? Will we get the day off?

I'm going to try to do this at least once a week, more often if I can. I'll post here tips and teasers for the writing life. Tips are just that - things to help you with your writing. They can be anything from a neat website to visit to grammar tips or editing suggestions. A teaser is for those days when you need to jumpstart your brain.
Vick1

For today - July 1st, a teaser:
You are the one millionth customer of a "Wishes Granted" occult store. You are granted one wish – but it has to be for someone other than yourself. What do you wish for and for whom? Why?
