We will be blogging every few days whilst we are on tour in the UK with We Are The Ocean.
Joel has updated his personal blog AM/PM already- he has been here a few days staying with some friends. Check it out here: http://joelbirch.tumblr.com/
This part is from Lukel:
Nov 15 I rocked up at Trad’s house drunk at 4am and woke him up to get to the airport. Still drunk I managed to do pretty well and we got charged no excess. Turns out finding the least interested girl at the desk worked. Thanks Jed for the tip.The plane ride to Korea for our overnight stop over was ok. I had a xanax and slept a lot of it. Talked shit with Troy as we sat separate to the others. It was pretty inconsequential which is the way I like it. Seoul. I love you. We got in and got on a bus to head to our hotel, which is 5 star place about 40 minutes from the airport and city. But not before Ahren and Trad found you can buy beer at the airport. 5 bucks for a big can and a pack of smokes. Not bad at all.We got a free buffet dinner and got in cabs to head to town. The cabs were crazy. Two of them flying down a freeway at 160 km/h weaving through traffic. We were melting over it, so funny.Once we arrived we met up Trad’s old friend Jay and his friend Sun. Two Korean dudes that rule the universe. Best guys. They made us laugh so hard all night. It was -2 degrees in Seoul which was intense. We bought mittens and rugged up and went out to get the party started. Our first stop was this little bar where we kicked into tequila shots and some beers and chatted with our new friends. They took us to a restaurant and ordered some amazing food for us. Ate a lot and then they had the idea to order a bottle of tequila. We basically finished it in about 3 minutes. Ahren did 5 consecutive shots and I had 3-4. Everyone was hitting them. I got video footage of it all, was amazing. We ordered another one and finished that pretty quick too. We took over the stereo and blasted Miley Cyrus and partied. Trad lit the spilt tequila on fire on the table and snorted some tequila. Pretty funny stuff. We got amazing footage of Jay saying (unprompted) “The Amity Affliction! Straight Up! Best band in Australia! Fuck Parkway Drive!” – was truly amazing. Ryan was wasted pretty quick and Ahren had his 12th shot of tequila and was looking on a mission. Sun said we reminded him of NOFX. Is that a good thing? We went to this seafood restaurant because we wanted to eat live squid. As in they chop it up and its still moving and shit. Ahren told them he wouldn’t do it unless he can kill the squid himself and then grabbed a squid out of the tank and held it up, much to the disbelief and disapproval of the owners. We settled them down and ate some squid. Nothing more disgusting then putting something that is moving into your mouth. Ryan had one tentacle crawl out of his mouth onto his lip while eating. It was so messed up.Me, Ahren, Chris and Ryan decided to go home and Troy and trad went to the markets. Our taxi driver was retarded. I think literally. He couldn’t read Korean or speak English so we got totally lost and had no way of working out what was going on. All our phones were out of battery and I got a bit stressed. Ryan and Ahren were passed out so me and Chris freaked a bit. Finally we got him to call the hotel and went on our way. On arrival the guy couldn’t understand what ATM or credit card meant. After being frustrated we decided to just get out and walk away without paying, but Ahren was dead to the world and wouldn’t get up. So we had to get back in the cab. Finally the hotel staff helped us communicate with the idiot. Sleep time.Nov 16 So I’m at my hotel. Woke up, went to the gym and had a good workout. Had a sauna and a shower, and then did a bunch of email. Life is fucking good. Our flight is at 1pm. It’s 9am and I’ve been up since 6. I feel fresh.Word.

Hey Guys, We got word this morning that Nightlife has been shut down for shows for the time being. Apparently the venue was a fire hazard. We have been forced to move the show to a new venue down the road. All tickets for Nightlife will still be valid at Tigers junior football club, Queen street, Southport - it's just down the road. On the upside it has a slightly bigger capacity which is good since the last venue was almost sold out. So there are still a bunch of tickets for sale. Here is the map! Sorry for an inconvenience!

THE AMITY AFFLICTION THE STAIRWAY TO HELL TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS WE ARE THE OCEAN (UK) AND HOPELESS
THE AMITY AFFLICTION’S PARTY WITH AUSTRALIAN FANS BEFORE THEY HEAD OVERSEAS
As THE AMITY AFFLICTION prepare to spend the end of 2009 replicating their Australian success beyond our borders, they will have one last party with the fans that have made this year the band’s best yet. The STAIRWAY TO HELL tour will take in East Coast centres and regional towns, finishing up in their hometown Brisbane for their last Australian shows for 2009.
THE AMITY AFFLICTION will also play Sounds of Spring Festival in September and their second Northern QLD tour of the year. They recently headlined the Drunk and Disorderly Tour with Deez Nuts, selling out shows all around Australia and solidifying their reputation as one of the leaders of the punk and hardcore scenes in our country. They are also writing for their follow up to highly revered 2008 debut “SEVERED TIES”, and expect to be releasing the album in Spring 2010. Before they can look at releasing another album, THE AMITY AFFLICTION will be announcing dates in the UK and USA in the coming months.
Joining them on the Stairway to Hell Tour will be WE ARE THE OCEAN and HOPELESS. WE ARE THE OCEAN hail from London, and are making their first visit to Australian shores, promoting the release of their debut album “Cutting Our Teeth”, which is out in November 2009. They will support The Used on their UK tour in September, and have recently made a name for themselves on a plethora of UK festivals, including DOWNLOAD FEST 2009. Their current self titled EP is out now via iTunes.
Although a new and young band, HOPELESS are an integral part of the growth of modern day Australian hardcore. Hailed by some as one of the best new up and coming bands in recent years, HOPELESS are consistently growing and reaching new heights of intrigue with their brand of bleak, reflective and naively optimistic brand of hardcore. Their debut album “Dear World” was tracked in Australia and mixed in the States by Jay Mass (Carpathian, Verse, Shipwreck AD) and is in stores now.
TICKETS TO THE STAIRWAY TO HELL TOUR WILL BE ON SALE FROM FRIDAY AUGUST 7TH AT 10AM. FULL TICKETING DETAILS FOR EACH SHOW ARE LISTED BELOW.

Blunt Magazine, and Kill Your Stereo Present…
THE DRUNK AND DISORDERLY TOUR 2009 FEAT. THE AMITY AFFLICTION AND DEEZ NUTS WITH SPECIAL GUESTS BREAK EVEN, LIGEIA (US) and LOUIE KNUXX
The Amity Affliction and Deez Nuts team up once again for The Drunk and Disorderly 2009 tour, bringing along Break Even, Ligeia (USA) and Louie Knuxx for the ride.
The Drunk and Disorderly tour first happened in 2007, as The Amity Affliction and Deez Nuts teamed up for one of the craziest tours of the year – a cross country party tour that unified close friends and good times for three weeks of alcohol induced punk rock goodness. Since then, both bands have carved out a much bigger name for themselves – both releasing their debut albums to hoards of praise, and establishing themselves as road warriors.
The Amity Affliction released their debut album “Severed Ties” in October 2008, debuting at #26 on the ARIA Charts, and recently toured Australia with Misery Signals – they will also be main support for The Getaway Plan on their last tour in June.
Deez Nuts, have become an international success story in their own right. Not only has their debut album “Stay True” (also released in October) been a massive hit in Australia, but they’ve managed to tour the UK and Europe with Bring Me the Horizon (UK) and will be returning from their US tour just days prior to kicking off the Drunk and Disorderly tour.
Along for the ride will be Perth Hardcore band Break Even, US mosh maniacs Ligeia and local rapper Louie Knuxx. The tour will be reach all major East Coast cities, with Western Australian dates to be announced at a later date.
The Drunk and Disorderly tour will kick off in Queensland late June, running through till July. Tickets on sale April 24th at 9am.
