While still in high school Maron heard the call of God to become a “missionary of music.” After graduation, she decided to move into the Jesus People USA (JPUSA) Christian community located in Chicago. As she continued her spiritual journey at JPUSA, she was inspired to write new songs with depth and insight emanating from the growing pains and lifes lessons she was learning there. After living in community a few years, she married and started a family. While pregnant with her second child, God renewed His call on her to be a “missionary of music.” She made demos of several songs in her father’s home studio and approached the director of Grrr Records, the in-house label of JPUSA. The rest is about to become history. Maron’s daughter was born in May 2005, and the recording of Uptown, her debut album, began in May 2006
