Hi Cygnets
The new album is being mastered at the moment by the very talanted Simon Heyworth who has worked for the likes of Nick Cave and Nick Drake, so I'm following in some big heafty footprints (I'm not sure if he only works with people called Nick).
I'm looking to release in March 2010. Will keep you posted on the progress.
Check out the new photo too, one of many taken by the brilliant Jess Farmer, which will feature on the new album.

Hi Cygnets
It's been a busy few weeks the new album is finally starting to come to together.
The songs are all recorded and due to go for mastering next week.
Had great fun at my first photo shoot yesterday which, without giving too much away, involved white underwear and aching stomach muscles. Watch this space.
I was also been lucky enough to play with a couple of great musicians last week headlining the acoustic stage at the Transition Festival with Katie Marie on bass and James Sharp on drums. Thanks to all those who supported us and to the organisers  for all their hard work, not an easy task.
Check out the latest track "Tuesday's Lament" send me your thoughts.
See you soon

I know, I know we are still in November and I promise not to say the "C" word but I just wanted to tell you about a great gift idea for the relative /friend who has everything and yet they still  somehow seem incomplete or unsatisfied. Well my friends, I have it, the small but perfectly formed Burning Bright E.P. is available now at just £4.00 (0.50p p&p) from my myspace page, for complete satisfaction
http://www.myspace.com/nickyswann

There are four tracks,  GOOD ADVICE, WHEELS KEEP TURNING, ONE STEP UP, TIME STANDS STILL. The first three were recorded at the famous Sawmills Studio in Cornwall where the likes of Supergrass, Muse and Robert Plant have recorded and features Brian Garrett on lead guitar and Olivia Dunn on violin. The last track was actually a sound check which Phil Beer (Show of Hands) recorded at the Blue Walnut Cafe in Chelston, Torquay earlier this year, some of you may have been at the gig.

BURNING BRIGHT E.P. REVIEW
"The first word that leapt into my mind on hearing, "Burning Bright" was evocative, followed soon after by atmospheric. Nicky Swann has got a powerful voice that's exactly what you need to delivering country tinged folk music, particularly when there's an almost spiritual dimension to the song. "Burning Bright" is only four tracks long, it's not enough, but there is going to be an album soon to satisfy the craving that's still there when the EP comes to an end. The final track "Time Stands Still" recorded live at a sound check sounds like Nicky was fighting back the tears, it really hits the heart."

Hi
Tomorrow night sees the start of a busy April for me. Kicking off with a gig at Mr. Wolf’s, St. Stephen Street, Bristol. Fun starts at 8pm so settle down with your favourite bowl of noodles (please keep lip smacking to a minimum, it may put me off) to enjoy an evening of chilled out acoustic tunes.

If Bristol’s not for you, i’m at the Exeter Picturehouse, Bartholomew Street on Thursday night
Come and say hello
Nicky x
