Looking for working Goth/Deathrocker models for a Documentary

Hi there,

I was approached by a production company that is currently working on a documentary about the goth/deathrock community. They are looking for gothic and deathrocker models who are currently working, who would like to be interviewed for this documentary about the goth/deathrock community.

Bats Day is not involved other than just being interviewed. At this time they are not looking for fans of the style to interview.

So if you are located near Los Angeles, please shoot me an email, batsday@aol.com, and I will have you get in contact with the people making this film.

Please forward this info to anyone that you think should know about this.

Thanks and stay spooky

Bats Day Black Market 2010 misinformation that is being passed around.  Pls Fwd

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL.  Thank you.

There seems to be some misinformation that is being passed around about the 2010 Bats Day Black Market.

Just to let you all know is that the 2010 Bats Day Black Market had NOT filled up its vendor spots.  We have not even sent out any vendor forms out to fill the spots yet.  The only thing we have done is collected waiting list forms and emails addys.  Once all of our Black Market info has been finalized we will be sending out the floor plans, prices and the new vendor form to those email address that we have on file.

We are also not collecting any money from anyone until we have sent out our invoices to vendors who want spots.

Once again,
1. The Bats Day Black Market 2010 has not sold out nor has any spots have been filled yet.

2. Bats Day has only collected waiting list forms and email addys.

3. Bats Day is not collecting any money for vendor spots until we send out invoices.

4. We are still collecting waiting list forms.

If you have any questions about the Bats Day Black Market 2010 please reffer to the Bats Day website, one of the many Bats Day social Networks (Twitter, Myspace, LiveJournal) or just email Bats Day directly.

batsday@batsday.net / batsday@aol.com  - mail email addy

Please forward this info on to anyone that you feel would need to know this info.

Once again thank you and stay spooky

Noah K's Review of Universal Halloween Horror Night in CA

 ....

I have gone before in the past and have really enjoyed it.  The last 2 years were good.  I have always said if you want quality go to Universal and if you want quantity go to Knotts.

 ....

Well Universal was not not nether good nor had any quality.

 ....

Here is the deal people, do not go.  Universal looked like they over sold the park by way too many tickets.  At least that is what it looked like to my GF and I, going on Sat Oct 3rd.  Way too many people, not enough monsters, and lines for the mazes that were anywhere from 65mins to 120mins.  Keep in mind that they only have 4 mazes and one of them is something they have there 365 days out of the year.  We didn’t even get to ride the terror tram or do the saw maze which is what I really wanted to do.

 ....

We were only able to do 3 out of the four mazes and their "Tribute" to Rocky Horror. We almost were only able to do 2 mazes but as we were leaving the sign for one of the mazes went from 45 min wait to 5 mins. Don’t know how that happened but just as we were leaving we said F’ it, lets try to leave on a positive note from here. It didn’t really help.

 ....

As for their Rocky “Tribute” show, they should have called it the Horrible Rocky Tribute Show.  It’s more like the PG, and not PG-13, version of a movie that was only 15mins long.  There was actual singing from the cast that was trying to do the parts.  Now mind you I am not really a fan of Rocky, yes I have gone several times back in the 80’s and early 90’s, and I will go to support my friends cast at the same theater that Fright Night is held at, but this was gaud awful.  It really should have been the ROCKY HORROR TRANSLVAYN VEGAS SPOOKTAULA.   I would have settled with them doing the Beetlejuice Rock n Roll Show.  BTW did I mention that this show was held in the T2:3D theater?

 ....

Oh and I guess there were people around me ready to kill me because I kept yelling out the audience participation parts, what little I could, from the movie.  Hello people, did you not hear the Magenta character even say something about audience participation?  OHHHHHHHH I didn’t realize you have never been to Rocky Horror, well you still haven’t after going to this.  Also their Frankenfurter was more like Herman Munster.  He sure sounded like him.

 ....

So in conclusion, DO NOT waste your money and save it.  If you really have to go to this thing, then go here to buy your tickets. http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/deltaco and enter the code word: FEAR.  This will at least give you a ticket that will let in for another 9 more nights for the price of a 1-night admission.  This is the only reason I am not totally pissed.  I can at least go back and see the tram, saw maze and maybe even ride the Simpson ride that I have yet to go on.

 ....

Stay clear of Universal.

Face the Terror of Zombies and Ghosts at FRIGHT NIGHT at the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro

Biggest Chiller Show Ever, Saluting the 41st Anniversary of the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

LOS ANGELES, CA—Get ready for the kickoff of your Halloween season at the historic Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro on Friday night, October 2, as Fright Night brings you two big monster movie events in one: A double feature of William Castle’s delirious 3-D epic, THIRTEEN GHOSTS, with your very own GHOST VIEWER free with admission, and a midnight screening of George A. Romero’s groundbreaking classic, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD — both for the price of just $13!

“But that’s not everything you get,” says Fright Night founder, producer, and host Noah Korda, “because we also give you the heart-pounding fun of Miss Bonnie Delight’s burlesque number AND a full set by the outrageous Radioactive Chicken Heads!  It’s our Halloween treat for our audiences, to start the season off fright — I mean, right.”

And more — “We’ve also got a raffle, monsters running wild in the theater, a Fright Nurse in case you just can’t take it, and many more surprises,” said co-producer Richard Becker.  “And it’s all in a beautiful art deco movie palace, the Warner Grand Theater.”

Don’t miss the start of your Halloween season at Fright Night on October 2!

A historic site with room for plenty of Fright (Night)
Fright Night happens every month at one of L.A.’s great theatrical treasures, the historic Warner Grand Theater.  Opened in 1931 and designed for film and vaudeville shows, the Warner Grand was billed as “The Castle of Your Dreams,” with a beautiful art deco design that is lovely from the outside and astounding on the inside.  Built by the Pantages chain, the theater was in decline for some years until historians, preservationists, and the city of Los Angeles worked together to preserve it.  You can learn more about the Warner Grand at http://www.warnergrandshows.com.

A.S.P.C.M. Too Busy To Protest FRIGHT NIGHT at the Warner Grand

Freaks and Beasts Getting Ready for Halloween, “But We’ll Be Back”

LOS ANGELES, CA—“Our hard work in fighting for better treatment of monsters at the monthly atrocity known as FRIGHT NIGHT is far from over,” said spokesmonsters of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Monsters (A.S.P.C.M.). “But this is our busiest season of the year, so we’re going to let those jerks go with a warning… this month.”

Although spectral nightmares and razor-wielding degenerates alike agree that Fright Night can only offer fun-filled frightfests thanks to over-working their monsters, the monsters’ protective union admits that they’ve got their claws full for right now.

“I guess audiences will just have to enjoy two outrageous monster movies, a live band, vendors, classic burlesque, a raffle, and all the great spookshow gimmicks of Fright Night without getting picketed for their October show. And they’re doing it for just thirteen bucks. No wonder they work us into the ground! It’s a monster sweatshop.”

An organization to protect monsters’ rights
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Monsters (A.S.P.C.M.) was founded in the 19th century as an offshoot of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Monsters (R.S.P.C.M.) and the Transylvanian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Monsters (T.S.P.C.M.). The A.S.P.C.M. is dedicated to preventing the abuse of monsters of all kinds, from the smallest imp or goblin to the largest nuclear-powered mutant dinosaur or spacegoing nebula-amoeba. Learn more about the A.S.P.C.M. and its mission at www.aspcm.org and get involved. Even if you are a tasty, delicious human, you can still support our cause and spread the word.
