Current mood:  jubilant
Howdy Partners!

Thanks a million to all of you beautiful people who made it down the show last night. We had a blast, and hope you did too! We love Austin so much, and one of the main reasons is all of you - sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts, we love you!

BIG BIG BIG Thanks to FLASH BASTARD, for rocking the joint before and after we played, like no one else could. Keep an eye out for when he's playing next...

For those of you who came out last night, you witnessed the last IV Thieves show for a short while. Glynn will soon become a dad, and will be taking some time out of the spotlight to introduce the little one to the world, change many-a diaper, and pamper his missus (who's doing all the hard work!). But don't fret friends, because we shall return....bigger, better, brighter, and bolder....(but hopefully not balder!)

Until then, don't be shy, keep in touch, love,

Shane

Here's some footage of our recent trip to the Texas Rollerderby. Fear not if you didn't make it to the event, this virtual movie will transport you back in time! Where are my Jelly Babies?

'Twas our first Rollerderby - I was a little worried about blood and gore, but it wasn't as brutal as expected. Those girls really do knock the crap out of each other though. There'll be some bruised limbs and tender joints this morning.

Has anyone out there ever seen the Buddy Holly Story with Gary Busey? Well, imagine that scene where the young Crickets are playing a roller-rink, but transplant the venue into the 21st Century, and last night wasn't too dissimilar. We had loads of fun, played a good show, met some new friends, got the smallest bag of cheetos in the world for almost $2 (that robbing bastard at the concession stand. I'm going to bring me own sandwiches next time.)

So, if you fancy a few cool lone stars and some girl on girl action, check out the Texas Rollergirls (North, just off 183). Glynn was seen loitering with a video camera, so maybe you too will see last night with your very own eyes....wow, the future is now, very Buck Rogers...Until next time, me love you long time,

Shane

PS: Anyone out there remember the theme tune to "The Littlest Hobo"? Don't you think this sounds just like Belle and Sebastien? It sure does to me....."Maybe tomorrow i want to settle down, until tomorrow, i'll just keep moving on....." They've built their entire career on this song....and no-one noticed, apart from me.
"The Littlest Hobo" was a bit like Lassie. It was one of those Sunday programmes on the Tele in England that made me hate Sunday, and want to kill myself. See also, "Antiques Roadshow", "Highway to Heaven", and "Last of The Summer Wine" (I sincerely hope those old fucks have popped their clogs - i hated that show with a passion) I did like "Ello, Ello" though....i think it was because of Michelle, who was very saucy indeed....Oooooooh, Rene....and who could forget "Zee fallen madonna wiz zee big boobies"

When I wasn't trying to park ($10!) or attempting to turn down piss weak larger (too many to mention), I tried to catch some bands at SX this year. I'm afraid there is no photographic evidence of Cage The Elephant or Bang, Bang, Bang. I was there though, I swear, I have the Guinness stains to prove it…

Sissy Wish - What I heard/saw was boss.

Galactic - Sweet!

Kings Of Leon - I've got nothing against KOL.

Mr & Mrs Mays - The Austin kids did us proud! I think I'm allowed to say that now...

Beat The Devil - I can't say enough good things about this band, I'm just so glad I finally got a chance to see them.

Catch you soon-
Glynn

Our final interview for SXSW was at Studio SX. For this we were placed inside a plastic box at the top of the convention centre with Abby White(Performing Songwriter)! We'll give you a shout when the video editing is complete, but in the meantime...

Our final gig for SX this year was at The Blind Pig for Camel/Village Voice. Yet again there was another boss turn out, so a big thumbs up to all of you who made it in:

Now that the playing is done we can really lay into the sauce!

Thanks to all of you that came down to Buffalo Billiards last night, it looked like a sea of people from where I was stood! Despite the crazy sound issues we had a great time and can't wait for the show tonight at The Bling Pig. Remember, this one is a free party so tell everyone who didn't get a SX wrist band to come along. We're on at 12am again, but this time on a roof top where you can smoke! Anyway here are some pics from Buffalo Billiards:

That's right people, 'If We Can't Escape My Pretty' was released today (Feb 26th) in the UK! We thought we would be there to celebrate with you, but as mentioned we're currently in Austin, enjoying the calm before the storm that is SXSW. Anyone finding it hard to get a copy of the album can pick one up direct from One Little Indian:

If We Can't Escape My Pretty
Take care and see you at SX!
