I found a great new site for anyone that just likes to bullshit on the web. http://www.stumbleupon.com is kind of like myspace in that it is an online community, but it works much differently and is a search engine of sorts for interesting and informative websites.
That doesn't mean that you have to own a website to enjoy this site, though. It is basically a way for site owners to get their name out, which brings all kinds of interesting sites onto it. One such site is http://www.jacksonpollock.org/ It gets old pretty quickly, but if you have a creative mind, it's something you can appreciate greatly.
You can select what types of sites you are interested in, then you "stumble" over websites that are subscribed to the community. If you're just looking for something to do, there is philosophy, money, astronomy, science, culinary, etc. I really think that anyone can find something of interest on this site, and it's great for killing time while actually learning something. You can become my stumbleupon friend at http://www.keaton13.stumbleupon.com Check it out, it can be really cool. | |

I am a loser. I am damn proud of this. The reason being, that even though my losses outweigh my wins, I have wins. If you don't compete(whatever you may be competing in) because you're afraid of losing, you can't win! Where's the logic in being afraid of losing? I may hate losing, but I'm sure as hell not afraid of it. When I do lose, I learn from my mistakes, then use that knowledge to come back and win, or at least do better.
I try to take advantage of every opportunity that life throws at me, so when I'm old and I look back at my life, I won't be disappointed. I will feel proud and accomplished at what my life has been.
So for any of you that like to sit on the sidelines and watch the game of life pass you by, get up and play ball! What have you got to lose, aside from losing? Is it really that bad? If you do want to continue to sit on the sidelines, be my guest. I will be on that field playing my heart out, and if I lose, fantastic. I'll be better and wiser next time I try, and have a better chance of winning. Give life a try. You'll be glad you did. |

| I've been dabbling in Internet marketing lately, and it's proving to be more difficult than I bargained for. I am, however, remaining optimistic about it. That's actually one of the reasons I am writing blogs now. It's one of the most effective ways to get your site to the top of the search engines, and to build a mailing list. I've only invested a small amount of money into this venture of mine, but I'm also yet to make my first sale on the internet. I've gained a multitude of knowledge, just from one affiliate program that I signed up for which came with a free trial membership to an aid site. They gave me a whole bunch of ebooks with reseller rights, and I've read most of them. I can build a website now, which is something I couln't do a month ago. I don't know html, and never plan on learning it. I know how pay per click advertising works, and myspace marketing secrets. I think I could be much more successful once I build a mailing list. If anyone is interested in learning more, just email me and I can give you links for more info. Also, if you have any questions about what it is, you should ask me if you're seriously thinking about buying it because I know how unclear the ads can be. |

As you may know a few months ago a law was passed in the state of Texas decriminalizing bags of marijuana weighing less than four ounces. It states that if marijuana is found on a person and weighs less than four ounces that the officer can, at his discretion, either issue a citation or take the individual to jail. Now, while this is a step in the right direction, I disagree with this law because of the discretion clause. It's very possible for an officer to be having a bad day and take someone to jail when he would have otherwise let them go. I know that if you said that to the judge he would just hit back with the cliche "Well you just shouldn't have broken the law at all" but that's besides the point of my argument. Another disagreement I have is more local to me. The counties of Parker and Tarrant(where I spend 99.9 percent of my time) have decided to ignore this. They will continue to incarcerate anyone found with marijuana, despite the fact that the jails are so overcrowded they are having to ship inmates to Jack, Wise, Palo Pinto, and Comanche Counties that I know of. I'm sure they're using other counties as well. Lets stop and think here for a minute. Even after a law has been passed decriminalizing something that should never have been criminalized in the first place, these God-damned conformists are so blind that they won't accept that our country is evolving. They are stuck in the 1980's! I say the eighties because back in the 1700's it was George Washington (remember, our first president) that had a pot farm. Sooner or later, everyone will be informed with the full facts and there will be people like me who cannot and will not "suppress under political pressure" issues concerning the topic.(if you're curious what I'm talking about, read the subtitle in the booklet above the song Peephole on System of a Down's self title album. If you don't have the CD, buy it. It's worth it...or you can just email and ask me, I guess) My point however, is that this country has gotten so used to being bricks in the wall that most of us don't know how to go against the grain. Some don't know how to fight for something they believe in because of this "intangible parent figure" that we're afraid will fucking spank us. I'll tell you something. When I was a kid, getting to do what I wanted was worth spankings, so by the time I was 13 my parents were tired of punishing me. I'm now 22 years old and that hasn't changed, only the "parent figure" isn't my parents it's the government and spankings take months out of my life that I can't get back. Is a plant worth taking that away from someone? I promise I'm a lot easier to get along with than any alcoholic out there, I function in society, and I am well liked by anyone that I feel is going to be honest and be a good friend to me. (other people can't stand me) I don't get FUBARed and go driving in the middle of the night and kill a carload of kids. Is a plant worth taking months to years out of someone's life? |
