Hey everybody! We had our 2nd event of the year on June 16, 2006 at Bacchus House on University. This event was in conjunction with Lavender Lens (thanks to Bixi!) who graciously let us piggyback on their Summer Party. The Drag Kings were out in full force and they put on an amazing show. If you get an opportunity to see them around town, definitely do it. They're fabulous. If you get a second, check out the photos from the event. There will be video to follow, as soon as I get off my tuchus and edit it. We walked away with a little more in our donation kitty for our big show in September with A Flock of Seagulls and When in Rome at the Belly Up Tavern. But, we still need so much more! Please dig around your couch for some spare change and consider donating it to Rock the Walk? Hit up your friends, neighbors, floormats of your car... whatever you can do will help us. Please help us support local HIV/AIDS services by supporting Rock the Walk. We appreciate every penny! A HUGE thank you to The Lavender Lens, The Drag Kings and Bacchus House for your generosity and support. Don't forget to check out our website for more information on upcoming events and how to get tickets for A Flock of Seagulls in September. VIP Tickets available. Please contact allison@rockthewalk.org for more information. xo, Joelle

A few great things are happening for Rock the Walk these days. First, 91X has joined the ranks as one of our many supporters. Our Main event this September will be a 91X concert! Additionally, we are planning an event to take place in Hillcrest which will include Steve West spinning music (91X) and Joey Fehrenbach (Paul Okenfold's Transport Disc). This will also be a 91X event and we will be on the air talking with Steve West on May 7th (tentative) so stay tuned for the news! Finally, we finished and submitted our Grant Proposal to San Diego Foundation for Change. They are a wonderful organization; so check em' out! Keep checking back for bulletins and blogs; we still need volunteers for marketing and sponsorship gathering. Anyone who can help, please send us an email and we'll invite you to our super-secret meeting coming up in April. Cheers!

Rock the Walk applied for official 501 (c) (3) status and Franchise Tax Board exemption today. In addition, the board of directors has also voted to file for Incorporation, and the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation are being drawn up as we speak. Joelle Reeder is the Art Director; check her out at www.snappyhour.com. Allison is the CEO and president of the Board of Directors. Dustin Shey has been appointed Chairman of the Board and Bixi B. Craig of the Lavender Lens has been appointed to the Board of Directors as well. Since we are filing for tax exemption status, any and all donations made to Rock the Walk are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. We will be setting up a donation account, and until then, feel free to contact us or show up at our events to make your tax deductable donation. All net proceeds benefit the AIDS Walk in San Diego. Thanks so much for your support!

We are curently planning more events including a live all ages show at Lestat's on Adams avenue, and we are working with a couple great guys at Brand X Morning Radio, namely Cantore and Ruggy, on setting up the finale rock show scheduled for late September, early October. These will be great events, so keep checking back for updates on what we're able to put together in order to raise funds to support AIDS Walk 2005, and all the important charities involved!
Thanks!
