We are stoked to be out playing again and I’ve never played the Troubadour before so I’m excited to be taking my sweaty ass to their very historic stage!!

Btw…thanks for your birthday wishes!! I partied on down and got shut down by the fuzz but it was all good because I made them take a picture with me…to be posted soon! Lol….

We’ve been having such a great time with you guys while we’ve been out here…crowds have been AWESOME and the vibe has been SICK!!
NY kicked ass, y’all were loud and proud and Boston, Philly, Atlanta, Florida….all ready to get down and get down we did!
Thanks so much for coming out to these shows you’ve all made it such a great tour for us ☺

I started this blog in Burlington, Vermont before soundcheck and am picking it up again here on a rainy day in Toronto. Had a gig here last night with yet another awesome crowd then up super early to pretend to be cute and awake on tv at 6am!!
We came close to not getting into Canada at all this time but as luck would have it, 2 borders later and some serious batting of eyelashes we got in and assumed position to bring the funk ;)
Thanks Canada for finally letting us in and cant wait for next time.
BTW... the record IS out here and will hopefully be in stores all over soon. In the meantime just gotta look a little harder for it...but it is here…somewhere ☺

Off to Chicago tonight and getting my boots on and ready for the snow…yay!
See ya soon and thanks for coming out to the shows….its been super fun.

Spread the word….this is grass roots Obama style!

Peace in the middle east

To my peeps in Arkansas,

I'm really sorry to say that we have to cancel our show tonight.
The promoter didn't hold up his end of the bargain and left us no choice but to not play. We promise to make it up to you all next time we are out and it will be at a place that knows how to treat musicians and enables us to give our full 150% at the show. I hate to let you guys down & I very rarely cancel shows but I don't want to play half ass for you guys. You deserve way more. So see ya next time and thanks for understanding!!

As it turns out blogging just aint my thing as you can tell by my infrequency with updates but im gonna try harder to get my s&&% together and tell you all whats goin on with us while we are out here on the road. Right now im on the bus, we just turned on "im gonna git you sucka" and we are on our way to salt lake city!
We are 2 gigs down and couldn't have asked for a better send off than with our peeps at the el rey in L.A. !! You guys were insane! Y'all were so ready to get down the funk was peeling off the ceiling! We were worried it would be all down hill from there but San Francisco came to represent and tore the roof off! Wow what an amazing start to our tour….thanks for being so loud and ready to jam with us….we've missed you!!
We have a day off today so I think showering is on the cards (we stanky ;) and then possibly a movie followed by a night of attempts at debauchery …Sunday night in salt lake city…
hmmm, I'll let you know how that goes!
Anyway spread the word to your friends across the country that we are coming to their town and I'll be letting y'all know how its goin out here…
Peace in the middle east already!!

And I couldn't be more excited for you guys to hear it! We recorded it over march and april this year here in l.a. and I gotta say it has felt so good to "get my soul on"!
I got to make the record without any suits getting in the way, made a record I am really proud of, signed with Stax and now I'm in rehearsals for these couple-a shows coming up!
What a year so far! The record is called Pebble To A Pearl and is s'posed to come out September 23rd…
But we are gonna be playing a lot of the new tunes at these upcoming shows and of course getting down and as dirty as possible so hope to see y'all there for the sneakiest of peaks!

Just got back from the uk and what an amazing ride it was! London was sunny and shiny, people were ready to party and even though we were feelin the jet lag didn't notice a thing once we got on stage. We did 3 shows in a day and a half and got back on the plane exhausted and smiling.
We scrambled last minute on Friday to do a "warm up" gig and ended up at this cool little (and I mean TINY) spot in Camden called The Fly. Raced there straight from rehearsals to play and get the cobwebs off before the prince show the next day. We picked up some AWESOME horn players scott, max & tony known as The 16Bit Horns.
(check them at: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=68595576)
They kicked some serious ass, playing so funky and sticky we were stoked to have them in the band. Definitely check them out because they killed it and deserve to be known as the bad asses they are!
So we rocked The Fly and had a bunch of myspace friends down there who had found out about it last minute so thanks for coming out you guys! There was also a really cool band worth checking out called The Heavy who also played that night…they are theheavy73 here on myspace…check it.
Anyways Friday ended in a sweaty pub, a crowded stage and drinks all around…actually pints to be exact and having gotten one gig off our chest we felt ready….ish…for the O2 arena.
Nothing like a tiny pub to get you ready for 20,000 people!

So its Saturday, pulled up to the venue (enormous) had a quick soundcheck and got ready for the show. The stage was in the round so we were surrounded by the audience which was cool and I have to say we got a lot of love from them. You never know how it's going to go being the opener for such a legend but people were so cool to us, clappin and hollerin…we couldn't have asked for a better vibe so we were stoked. It came and went like a blurry blink and we came off stage with just enough time to wipe the sweat off and get ready to watch prince tear the roof off the place. Noone does it like him. And the crowd was going off! It was awesome and I was so happy and honored to be a part of it. He simply rocks.

After prince laid it down we were super inspired to play the after party which he had asked earlier if we wanted to play. Of course we said hell yeah and got our guitars and headed down to the indigo bar right next door. Plugged in our gear and at about 1a.m. we hit stage number 3 to a crowd of about 2000 and did our entire set which was so much fun. The crowd was loud and vibing and nowhere near ready to sleep! We had gotten the "big one" out of the way and felt really good about it so were feelin loose and relaxed and ready to have a good time. There were no plans for a jam, nothing rehearsed or set, just wait and see what the vibe was and go with it. A few songs in I look over to find Prince rockin his guitar with us and jamming on "like a feather" which was INSANE fun. Later we were joined by his entire horn section including the legendary Maceo Parker from James Browns band as well as princes singers for "Everybody got their something". 7 horn players on stage just having a good time, singers SANGIN' and the crowd was going off!…it was such an amazing night for us to be able to play with some of the greatest players in the world and it was such a party on stage, just a free for all. I kept looking over to see my horn section taking pictures of Maceo….i don't think they could believe they were on the same stage! Lol! It was very cool and definitely in everyones top 10 most memorable experiences….this is why we do what we do!

I just want to also hats off to the crew Rick, Adrien and Dave who worked their asses off for chips really. We couldn't have done it without their amazing vibe…and strong biceps ;)

In two words LONDON ROCKED!!!!
