Come meet your fellow quirkyalones and listmakers. Bring a list to read at the List Slam (think poetry slam but instead of poetry we'll read lists) or tack up a list on the List Shrine. Books Inc. will sell signed copies of the book.
To-Do List is a collection of 100 handwritten lists and the stories behind them. They're from everyone from a Florida schoolteacher who wants to lose 92 pounds to a young Mormon looking for his ideal mate. The book is full color, which means you get to see the lists in all their crossed-out, tactile glory. Really, they're more than just to-do lists, they're an inside view into who we are and what we want, from the meaningful to the mundane. They're the bullet-point version of a diary, a way of peeking into each other's minds. The book also includes original survey data on the habits of our growing list-making nation and musings from me on the roles lists play in our lives.
