The Black Stars of Ghana premiered a new dance for celebrating goals during their match against Morocco in 2008 edition of the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
The dance has been called 'kangaroo dance',

When the Black Stars were interview, they revealed that the dance is a 'kangaroo dance' and is in honor of Tic Tac's Kangaroo dance.

The Black Stars listen to a lot of hiplife so it's not surprising.

Kangaroos are known to come from Australia, but when the Black Stars returned from the United Arab Emirates city of Abu Dhabi, they came with the Kangaroo dance which they exhibited in grand fashion after scoring the two goals against Morocco that qualified them to the quarter finals of the 26th MTN African Cup of Nations.
they all had individual styles of jubilating, but the Kangaroo dance just came naturally after they had enjoyed Tic Tac's hit song titled Kangaroo.

According to Portsmouth wonder boy Muntari, it is always a good feeling to flow with what is in vogue and one which the fans can easily identify with. "I think we've tried so many dances but at the moment, the Kangaroo is the most fascinating "he said.

Michael Essien also commented that dancing is a big part of Ghanaian culture and with football which involves drumming and dancing, it is a great achievement to dance after scoring a goal.

Even other teams copied what fans are saying is "The song of the tournament"

In a recent interview with the Hiplife Icon he said he is thrilled that the Black Stars have he is an avid supporter of the Ghana National Team and is honored that they like his music he added the message of the song is having hope and not giving up on your dreams.

Well even though they didn't take the ultimate prize, the Black Stars are still sons of a Kangaroo!
