Using the cable cross machine, I have to do bicep curls and shoulder raises with the cables at the bottom position. Then, I have to lift the cables and lock them in the top position to do tricep exercises. Well, I'm lifting it and all of the sudden I can't see. Why? Because my shirt was stuck on the bar and had been pulled all the way up above my head! Oh that I could melt or become invisible.

OK, I enlisted the help of a personal trainer. Jimmy is nice but he's like "We've got to keep it fun," but I'm like "Exercise isn't fun." Good thing he's got a sense of humor. Looks like he has three holes in his ear but as Grandma would say, "I've never seen him wearing earbobs." Yes, I said earbobs. Anyway, 82 pounds lost, much more to go.
My baby, Freemon, has doubled his weight in just 2 months. I obsess over this because I don't want him to struggle like me but the doctor says he's okay because he is still within the weight chart.
Anyway, just trying to stay motivated. You know the song "Car Wash?" Clap clap clap claclap clap clap. Clap clap clap claclap clap clap. There's a part where they say "Work and work, well those cars never seem to stop coming." Well I could replace it and say "Work and work, well those carbs never seem to stop coming. Work and work, keep those weight lifting machines coming. work and Work, my fingers to the bone, sometimes I can't wait until it's time to go home. Hey work those carbs off today. Fill up and you'll have to pay. Come on and give us some play. Get a workout right away. "

Do do do
Another one bites the dust
Do do do
Another one bites the dust
And another pound gone
And another pound gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, next time I'll lose two
Another one bites the dust
the F-Word
The first f-word I want to discuss is fat. My three year old son has been learning adjectives like short, tall, fat, and skinny. He came over and jiggled my thighs and asked, "Mommy, are you fat?" I said that I was. He asked me why and I was stumped.
The second f-word is fun. Jimmy, my trainer, always talks about having fun exercise. I always respond that exercise isn't fun. Well, don't tell Jimmy, but I actually had fun kickboxing last weekend. Who woulda thunk it?
The third f-word is fanatic. What's up with these aqua aerobics fanatics and why aren't they losing weight? I attend an aqua aerobics class twice a week and no one seems to be dropping the pounds. It makes me wonder if this is an effective type of exercise.
Farewell for now...
Mary

Current mood: cold

Don't you love that! Let me say it again...hooah! At first I didn't get it, I was like "whatcha talkin bout Willis??" So I asked Mary who knew right away since her husband is in the military and she gave me the scoop. From wikipedia, Hooah (hü-ä or who-ah) is a U.S. Army slang term.
So last Saturday we had Celebrity Fit Club's Harvey Walden on the show. He's not so bad, he's a softie if you ask me! (Just don't tell him I said that!)
Harvey is one active man, we talked about the right ways to workout, how to keep your kids interested in exercise and we even talked about Screech aka. Dustin aka pain in the butt! I also promised to work on my abs and visit Harvey on his book tour (dates TBA) wearing a cut off T-shirt to show off my hard work (let's see if I can pull it off) Thank you Jennifer and Mary Francis for submitting questions! If you missed the show, check it out on the Project Slim. You have to visit Harvey's merchandise shop, some of the items are hilarious! (I'm picking up the I love Harvey mug!) You can also purchase the workout DVD's Fighting Fit, Fighting Fat and the Celebrity Fit Club Bootcamp workout. More on Harvey...
1. I really wish the Senator would take control and fix the obesity issue with our youth and implement a mandatory program in our schools.
2. What do you wish you were good at? Reading the minds of people who consistently eat bad and don't exercise at all on a daily basis.
3. I absolutely must have A gym and IPOD.
4. I'm probably the only one that Would make Dr. Phil lose his mind trying to fix my forms of OCD.
5. Sandy and Mary are: AWESOME! and on a mission.
Have a great weekend everyone! And as Harvey would say...
"Suck it up, dig deep and get fit!"

Ok, guys last Saturday we had Tosca Reno on the show. At age 40 this overweight mom of three decided it was time to lose weight and get in shape! She became a fitness model and now in her mid 40's is still going strong! We talked about her book "The Eat Clean Diet" and recipe book, flaxseeds and her flat butt! She will be giving away 5 copies of her "Eat Clean Diet" to our lucky friends so message me with your story and why you want the book. You guys can also get the butt of your dreams with her "Butt Book".
This is what Tosca had to say...
1. I really wish someone would: send me Oprah's personal contact information. I think Eating Clean would be the last diet she would ever go on because it works. Why? It isn't a diet. It's a lifestyle.
2. I wish I was better at: cooking – then I could get my own Eat Clean TV show and demonstrate how easy it is to Eat Clean. Look out Rachel Ray!
3. I absolutely must have: a cooler every day because I need ready access to Clean Foods. I am so busy travelling from place to place I have found packing a cooler of beautiful clean food is the only way to go.
4. I'm probably the only one that: will tell you the truth about how to tighten up your diet and where your trouble spots are. I do it with tough love in mind. You can get my advice from Raise the Bar, a column I write for Oxygen magazine or you can visit my website at www.toscareno.com and purchase a phone consult from the Store page. It is the ideal way to receive customized training and nutritional advice. Call me!
5. Sandy and Mary are: fabulous girl power women who are right on the money when they suggest Clean Eating as the only way to unveil the lean tight body you have always wanted. Stick with them. You will make it happen.
You guys have a great weekend!!
Be healthy
Sandy

From the NY Times
Yoga At The Crossroads Of The World - By Dalton Walker

Namaste New York!
(Photo: Willie Davis for The New York Times)
About 80 men and women — some from as far as California and Honduras — woke up extra early to visit one of the world's busiest intersections in search for serenity.
A fence guarded the group of people in Times Square in Manhattan as they listened to Douglass Stewart, a lead yoga instructor, belt out directions. Taxis honked horns and fire trucks blared by with their sirens loud. Yet, the group of people were unfazed as they shuffled on their mats.
More than 800 yoga enthusiasts registered for six sessions, said Tim Tompkins, a yoga enthusiast and president of the Times Square Alliance, the sponsor of the event. The sessions will go throughout the day, with the last one starting at about 7:30 p.m. This is the event's fourth year; the event is held to coincide with the summer solstice. The Times Square Alliance also sponsors a New Year's Eve celebration.
"What better way to bring in the summer solstice in the most chaotic place in the city," Mr. Tompkins said.
Attendance has grown considerably since 2003, when Mr. Stewart and Mr. Tompkins and another friend performed yoga at 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Broadway. The next two years, interest in the yoga event rose appreciably.
Two yoga sessions are scheduled for today. The first, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., was held on the traffic island where the Armed Forces Recruiting Station sits. Carol Solimene, 45, who came from her home in Tiverton, R.I., for the session, said she has practiced yoga for 13 years.
"It was worth the trip," Ms. Solimene said of doing yoga in the unusual environment. "I found it to be energizing in its own way."
A native New Yorker, Robin Downs, flew in from her Los Angeles home for Father's Day. She planned her schedule around the yoga event. She has been practicing yoga for 12 years.
"I came back to experience Times Square in a different way." Ms. Downs said. "The session was a sense of peace amongst all of the madness. I'm going to make this trip an annual event."
Another yoga program in Times Square is scheduled for Sunday.

She's blonde, she's beautiful and she can't do without her fries. Mrs. Diet Dropout herself, Susanna Wermuth was on the show last week talking with us about her book "I've Tried Everything Now What?" She has been on this diet rollercoaster like us all but has come to realize she can have her Big Mac and eat it too. She let us in on the scoop so listen to the show to find out what was said...
You can purchase her book at www.DietDropouts.com!
We asked her...
1. I really wish someone would put me on Oprah!
2. What do you wish you were good at? Taking bigger risks.
3. I absolutely must have a bigger forum for my weight loss message.
4. I'm probably the only one that believes you can eat fast food for every meal for the rest of your life and still be thin.
5. Sandy and Mary are: real.
Join us this Saturday, our guest will be Tosca Reno who at age 40 decided it was time to lose weight and "Eat Clean".
